Education Volunteer
Purpose of your role:
As an Education volunteer you will help deliver environmental education and play activities onsite, supporting the Education team at Brandon Marsh Nature Centre in Coventry, CV3 3GW and/or at the Parkridge Centre in Solihull, B91 3HW.
Tasks you will be involved with:
Our Education team require volunteers to help support and deliver fun and exciting environmental activities which could include supporting school visits (5-18 years), Nature Tots (2-5 years), after school clubs, holiday workshops and our monthly Saturday Nature Clubs (5 years +). Activities range from pond dipping, mini beast hunting and bird watching to nature crafts and art to bushcraft and toasting marshmallows over a fire.
Skills and abilities required:
• Enjoy working with children, with previous experience desirable
• Good communication skills with the ability to encourage all ages to engage
• Support with set up and close down of activities.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Enthusiasm for both wildlife and conservation.
• Enhanced disclosure check will be required - to be arranged by WWT at no cost
• References will be sought
You will be based at: Brandon Marsh Nature Centre, Coventry CV3 3GW and/or
The Parkridge Centre, Solihull B91 3HW
Days and time we would like you to be available: Flexible, as and when required during Monday - Friday
