We provide a range of services including social, advice, and practical support to help individuals rebuild their lives.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Social Hub Volunteer to support our drop-in social hub for male refugees and asylum seekers. The hub provides a safe, friendly space for connection, conversation, activities, and social support. This role is crucial in helping clients feel welcomed and part of a community.
Key Responsibilities:
· Welcome and engage with clients (especially single, male) attending the social hub
· Facilitate informal conversations, offering a listening ear, activities such as games, group discussions, or workshops.
· Assist with the setup and cleanup of the hub space
· Help ensure the space remains safe, inclusive, and respectful
· Work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers
· Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality
Person Specification:
· Friendly, approachable, and respectful with good interpersonal and communication skills
· Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude
· Commitment to equality, inclusion, and safeguarding
· Previous experience in community work or support roles is desirable but not essential
