Volunteer Administrator

Location: Bedfordshire Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies,
Gilbert Hitchcock House, 21 Kimbolton Road, Bedford, MK40 2AW

Timing: Maximum of up to 15 hours per week

We’re looking for a friendly and organised Volunteer Administrator to help keep things running smoothly at our service. You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors and calls. The role also includes supporting group activities, taking referrals, and helping with general admin tasks like printing and scanning. If you’re reliable, good with people, and happy to pitch in where needed, this is a great way to make a real difference while building useful skills

Tasks may include:

  • Welcome visitors, manage calls and messages, and handle post and deliveries.
  • Keep reception area and resources (leaflets, displays) up to date.
  • Assist admin team to call clients for appointments.
  • Support group activities and training sessions with admin and materials.
  • Take referrals and help promote the service.
  • Assist with general admin tasks like printing, scanning, and creating resources.
  • Gather feedback from service users and liaise with staff.
  • Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety policies.

Skills/qualities we would like you to bring to the role:

  • Confident communicator, comfortable greeting visitors and speaking with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and report progress.
  • Strong IT skills for admin tasks and online training.
  • Professional, reliable, and committed, with a caring and non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a busy environment.
  • Able to work as part of a team, on own initiative and to instruction.
  • An understanding of Waythrough – information is available on our website.
  • A genuine interest in being part of the mission and vision of Waythrough.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, adhere to Waythrough policies and media guidelines, engage in supervision, and complete relevant training.
