Through our external marketing and communications channels, we deliver clear, practical, and inspiring content that equips founders to scale, while building trust with growth partners, funders, and ecosystem supporters.
As a Volunteer Communications & Marketing Specialist, you will work closely with the Communications Team Lead to execute our multi-channel media strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube/Podcasts, Email Newsletters, and our Website. You will help research, draft, design, and stage actionable content that solves real-world problems for early-stage entrepreneurs, showcases founder impact, and promotes funding opportunities.

Location: Remote / Global
Tools Used: Notion, Canva, Buffer, Mailchimp, Spotify for Podcasters.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Research & Copywriting: Draft high-value social media captions, carousel slide copy, video scripts, and newsletter digests using our brand voice
- Visual & Media Asset Creation: Design professional LinkedIn PDF carousels, infographics, and spotlight graphics in Canva, or edit short-form video snippets (Reels/Shorts) and podcast highlights.
- Community Management & Analytics: Monitor comment sections across platforms to answer founder queries (with support from dmtr experts), engage with institutional partners, and log weekly performance metrics (impressions, downloads, engagement rates).
Preferable Skills & Experience
- Content Creation & Copywriting: Strong written English skills with an ability to communicate complex concepts into clear, scannable, and engaging digital copy.
- Graphic Design & Video Editing: Basic to intermediate experience using Canva (working with brand kits and templates) and familiarity with short-form video editing tools.
- Social Media & Digital Tools: Comfort using or learning collaborative cloud tools such as Notion, Buffer, Mailchimp, and native social analytics (LinkedIn Page Analytics, Instagram Insights).
- Strategic Interest: Passion for social entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, AgTech, or international development in emerging markets.
What You Will Gain
- Hands-on Digital Marketing Experience: Build a professional portfolio featuring published LinkedIn PDF carousels, email newsletters, short-form video reels, and long-form multimedia assets.
- Deep Industry & Ecosystem Insights: Gain exposure to leading AgTech trends, impact measurement frameworks, and the global social venture funding landscape.
- Professional Portfolio & Global Network: Collaborate directly with dmtr’s communications leads, connect with high-impact founders across Africa and Asia, and receive formal references based on your contributions.
The Social Impact You Will Support
Every piece of content you produce directly serves dmtr’s core goals.
