Project Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead the development and execution of Peniang, our AI-driven waste management and circular economy platform. You will bridge the gap between technical teams, field operations, and business strategy to ensure we build a product that is impactful, scalable, and user-centered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage the product roadmap and priorities
  • Translate business and field needs into clear product requirements
  • Coordinate between developers, AI engineers, and stakeholders
  • Lead agile sprints, track progress, and ensure timely delivery
  • Oversee user experience (UX) for households, collectors, and partners
  • Gather feedback from users and pilot communities to improve the product
  • Align product development with business goals and impact metrics

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in product management or startup environments
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms (mobile/web)
  • Ability to work with technical teams (developers, AI engineers)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in climate tech, circular economy, or social impact
  • Experience with tools like Trello, Jira, Notion, or similar

Impact

You will play a key role in launching a platform that reduces plastic waste, creates economic opportunities, and builds sustainable urban systems across Africa.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with AI/ML products or data-driven platforms
  • Background in waste management, logistics, or sustainability
  • Experience working in African or emerging markets
