Wheels for Wellbeing – Removing Barriers to Cycling
Wheels for Wellbeing is an organisation focused on cycling and disability, run by individuals with disabilities. Founded on the idea that cycling can greatly enhance health, transportation, and social inclusion, the organisation advocates for mobility justice and equity. For the past eighteen years, our charity has aimed to transform the landscape of active travel by eliminating obstacles that prevent disabled individuals from cycling.
In addition to hosting cycling sessions for disabled participants at three locations in South London, Wheels for Wellbeing is also working to improve cycling infrastructure. The team is actively involved in reshaping cycling design standards not just in London, but throughout the UK and in cities worldwide.
As our expertise gained recognition, we expanded our offerings to include training and consultancy services. This aspect of our work is on the rise, and one of our strategic goals is to significantly develop it further under the banner of Wheels for Learning, alongside our other two initiatives.
We have a diverse range of funding sources, including grants from Trusts and Foundations, income we generate ourselves, and contributions from individuals and corporations.
Effectively managing our fundraising efforts is essential for our success in raising funds and providing transparent reports – the Volunteer Salesforce Developer position will play a vital role in supporting these initiatives.
