Whether you're an experienced filmmaker or an enthusiastic beginner who's never picked up a camera, this is your chance to dive into the exciting world of video production for public benefit. The charity WORLDwrite is offering a hands-on volunteer opportunity to train with professional equipment and film the Battle of Ideas Festival, held in the heart of Westminster, London.
This dynamic opportunity combines training, teamwork, and the thrill of capturing a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating festival on film. Over an action-packed weekend, you'll help produce high-quality video content from more than 100 challenging debates and discussions on everything from politics, economics, and education to science, technology, and the arts. The festival is renowned for its dedication to thought-provoking, public conversations. Since its inception in 2005, WORLDwrite has proudly served as media partner for this prestigious event, and we want you to be part of our 2025 crew.
As a Festival TV Maker, you'll be trained in every aspect of live debate filming at our volunteer centre in East London. Your efforts will contribute to the production of over 650 high-quality debate videos—shared online for a global audience. And yes, every volunteer receives a credit, great for any CV or portfolio. You’ll also receive a full festival pass, lunches and local travel expenses. References are provided when required.
