Are you practical, hands-on and enjoy being a friendly face in your local community?

Scarborough Community Furniture Store make deliveries and collections of donated furniture on a daily basis, and volunteers can provide additional support to our driver team with the loading and unloading of items, and being a friendly, welcoming representative of the store out in the local community.

We are currently looking for van support volunteers to assist on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This is a flexible role designed to meet you where you're at and you will be joining a supportive charity team.

Responsibilities of the Role:

• Assisting the driving team with their deliveries and collections
• Supporting a driver on their route in their van
• Using the phone to communicate with customers about when you will be arriving
• Loading and unloading furniture into vans at the store and at customer’s home
• Being an ambassador for our organisation, by giving polite, helpful and friendly service to the customers you are visiting

Skills required:

• You will need to undergo a DBS check for this role as you will be entering customer homes
• You will need to communicate well with the rest of the driver team
• You need to be able to lift and move furniture - although we will never ask you to lift anything you are uncomfortable with and will provide full manual handling training
• You will need to be a positive, helpful and friendly representative of Community Stores as you interact with the local community
• There is no need to have a driving license for this role

As a Community Engagement Volunteer supporting libraries, you will:

• Take responsibility for 3 - 6 local libraries, depending on your location.
• Build positive relationships with library staff and engage with library users where appropriate.
• Share key information and offer a listening ear to others
• Monitor stock levels of Marie Curie information materials and top them up as needed.
• Amplify the voices of those affected by terminal illness and bereavement
• Record stock checks and activity using a simple Microsoft Office form and return it to the Community Engagement Team.
• Look out for additional opportunities within the library to share Marie Curie’s Information & Support resources

The Treasurer plays a key leadership role in ensuring SAPHNA’s financial integrity and sustainability. In addition to the responsibilities of a General Trustee, the Treasurer provides strategic guidance and oversight on SAPHNA’s financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee SAPHNA’s financial management, ensuring robust processes and controls are in place.
• Advise the Board on financial strategy, risk management, and resource allocation.
• Work closely with SAPHNA’s management team to monitor budgets, cash flow, and financial performance.

• Present financial reports to the Board in a clear and accessible format.

Time Commitment:

The Vision Friends project has been running successfully for the past five years, providing free, Welsh Government-funded training to health and social care professionals across Wales. The training is designed to help professionals better understand and support people living with sight loss.

This year, we are launching a new strand of the project: Vision Friends: First Responders. The aim is to adapt our existing training to specifically support first responder services to enhance their ability to support individuals with sight loss in emergency and urgent care situations.

We are seeking a committed and empathetic volunteer to help us shape a more inclusive future by gathering valuable feedback from blind and partially sighted individuals, as well as first responders via online forums. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on how services are developed and delivered across communities in Wales and beyond.

What you will be doing:

Facilitate engaging and accessible online forums with blind and partially sighted people to gather feedback for an RNIB led project;

Run structured feedback sessions with first responders to understand the service experiences and identify areas for improvement;

Ensure participants feel comfortable, heard and respected throughout all discussions;

Capture key insights and report findings clearly and accurately to the health and social care training team;

Support RNIB in creating a positive and inclusive environment for all forum participants.

Volunteering will take place remotely over Microsoft Teams or Zoom but there is also the option to attend Vision Friends training sessions and meet the team in person in Cardiff.

Join our amazing volunteer team in this flexible opportunity that puts you at the heart of our work supporting blind and partially sighted people. You’ll make taking part in events and carrying out volunteering easier and more enjoyable for our customers and volunteers with sight loss.
You’ll take some of the stress and anxiety out of getting around and taking part in activities as a blind or partially sighted person. The help you give will encourage people to do more.

What you’ll be doing
• Sighted guiding / giving practical help to individuals in and around venues, so they can take part in events.
• Supporting volunteers with sight loss with their volunteering activities which range from facilitating a regular community group to delivering a talk about sight loss to a local business. Your role would involve things like guiding; Meeting and greeting at group activities or creating a welcoming and interesting display stand at events.

In this role you will only be helping individuals in places open to the public, often in a group setting. We will provide training in sighted guiding techniques and understanding sight loss.

Are you looking for an admin volunteer role which helps to make a positive impact on people living with sight loss? As a Helpline Admin volunteer, you will use your excellent administration skills to make a positive impact and a genuine difference to those seeking help from RNIB by acting on requests to the Helpline email mailbox. These requests can include:

• Printing and mailing factsheets, letters and booklets to customers.
• Monitoring envelope, booklet and sundry levels and order replacement supplies accordingly.
• Sorting the Helpline post received into the Peterborough office and scanning applications for the RNIB’s Talking Books services
• Converting documents using Word into an acceptable format for conversion to braille or audio and update customer records on a CRM system.

We're looking for volunteers who are available sometime during weekdays for a either half a day or a couple of half days. The role is based in RNIB’s Peterborough office.

This is a busy role and would suit someone will excellent admin and customer care skills who has a methodical and organised approach and is able to pay attention to detail.

How you will be supported in your role:
Full training on the role will be provided. You will also receive support from your volunteer manager which will include regular updates and catchups.

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

• Social Media Strategy & Management Develop and execute multi-platform social media strategies aligned with campaign and organizational goals. Manage and grow presence across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok). Create and schedule engaging, branded content (text, graphics, video) that drives traffic and donations. Monitor social media trends and adapt content to maximize visibility and engagement.
• Performance Tracking & Optimization Track and analyze performance metrics (reach, engagement, conversion) using analytics tools. Use data to refine content strategy and improve ROI across channels. A/B test content types, posting times, and ad formats to maximize impact.
• Digital Marketing Integration Run and optimize unpaid and paid social campaigns (Facebook Ads, Instagram Promotions, etc.). Collaborate on email marketing campaigns to support donor outreach and retention. Coordinate with fundraising and campaigns team to align social efforts with digital marketing goals.
• Web Content & SEO Support Coordinate website updates to reflect social campaigns. Use basic web development skills to manage front-end content updates. Optimize landing pages and social content for SEO to boost organic reach and campaign visibility.
• Community Engagement & Donor Interaction Respond to messages, comments, and mentions to foster relationships and build trust. Highlight donor stories, campaign milestones, and impact updates to maintain excitement and loyalty. Develop strategies for user-generated content and community-building campaigns.

MiMIAT Health

At MiMIAT Health, we are empowering heroes with chronic conditions. We offer a multilingual app (iOS & Android), already live across Europe and Kenya, that enables patients to track symptoms, diet, weight, and stool. Soon, they’ll also integrate wearables and upload clinical records, building a unified, patient-owned health timeline.

Chronic disease management today remains highly fragmented, inequitable, and provider-centric, leaving millions without continuous care, especially in low-resource or high-mobility settings. Patients often lose ownership of their own health data, resulting in reactive instead of proactive care, late interventions and detections of flare ups, and preventable hospitalizations. 89% of chronic patients fail to consistently track their condition due to fragmented, manual, or incomplete tools, and 71% of doctors report that disconnected apps and records create gaps in delivering personalized care. In many regions, patients without smartphones or stable internet access are further excluded from digital health innovation.

MiMIAT Health addresses these challenges by creating a unified, patient-driven platform for structured health data aggregation, with mobile and SMS-based accessibility. We tackle the systemic inequities of chronic care access, digital inclusion, and health data sovereignty, aligning with SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being.

MiMIAT Health is a digital health platform offering a free mobile app (iOS and Android) available in five languages, enabling patients to self-track key health metrics, and soon connect medical devices, and upload clinical documents — building their own continuous health record. By Q4 2025, we are also set to launch SMS-based access to reach digitally underserved populations.

Healthcare providers, with patient consent — particularly in primary and secondary care — can access this real-time data through our web platform, allowing earlier interventions and more proactive care. Legal Advisor (HealthTech)

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

At MiMIAT Health, we’re looking for a Legal & Compliance Advisor (volunteer) to help us strengthen MiMIAT’s regulatory foundation as we expand across clinical environments. You’ll be joining a purpose-driven, fast-growing HealthTech project that centers dignity, inclusion, and patient empowerment. As we enter our provider integration phase (in Kenya and Spain), your guidance will be essential to ensure we’re compliant with healthcare regulations, GDPR, and best practices around patient data. We’ll also be drafting and refining our Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, and provider-facing documentation. You’ll work directly with the Founder & CEO, helping build the ethical and legal scaffolding of MiMIAT Health across Europe, Kenya, and beyond.

�� What you’ll do? – Review and co-develop core legal documents (Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, data consent flows) in line with GDPR and relevant data regulations. – Assess provider agreements and cross-border data flows, identifying legal and compliance risks early. – Design and refine compliant data-sharing practices between patients and providers, with a focus on privacy and trust. – Support MiMIAT’s privacy-by-design architecture, ensuring it scales responsibly across markets (Europe and Africa first). – Act as a regulatory advisor during conversations with hospitals, clinics, and public health institutions. – Be a sounding board for compliance strategy, ensuring our growth remains ethical, defensible, and future-proof.

We address the inequality of education, the digital divide, promote inclusion and responsible consumption and production across Nigeria.

Adesso is an Italian word for “now”, and this project serves as a call to action, asking us to act now because the future is now, the time to act is now, and the digital age is now. If indeed we want to build an inclusive and sustainable world, digital inclusion has to be at the forefront of our endeavours. Project Adesso aims to address the quality of education, digital divide, promote inclusion and responsible consumption and production.

The project will engage with various stakeholders and organisations to carry out their corporate social responsibilities through the project. Ask people to donate their old but functioning laptops Crowdfund to enable the purchase of other necessary accessories

In the end, this will be given to selected public schools. The hope is that through this project, the digital divide over time will lessen and also increase in digital literacy among young people.

East London Waterworks Park is looking for illustrators, animators and graphic designers to help campaign in the creation of our new park with natural swimming ponds.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for illustrators, animators and graphic designers to contribute to our community-led working circle who are working on coordinating our digital marketing. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects across content creation, social media, film or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working circle.

The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

While technical skills are essential, we also value your ability to think creatively and strategically. You should have experience in creating engaging visual content for various platforms that will engage stakeholders and decision makers, such as public reports, presentations for decision makers, social media and websites. A strong understanding of storytelling and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively through visuals will be invaluable. You should be comfortable with community-led processes. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.
