We've got the passion, but to bring our mission to life, we need a special group of people with a passion for fundraising to join our family. We're looking for volunteers to form our first Fundraising Committee. This isn't just about raising money; it's about building a sustainable future for SUNSHINE and creating a home for kindness.

What you'll do:

• Pioneer our fundraising efforts: Help us create our strategy and bring in the funds needed to get started, grow and develop as a charity.

• Write grants: Use your experience to craft compelling grant applications and secure funding from Trusts and Foundations.

• Inspire others: Work with us to show the world the power of our mission and why they should support it.

• Build a culture: Help us create a compassionate, effective, and joyful organisation from the ground up.

We're looking for people who:

• Have experience in fundraising, grant writing, or corporate partnerships.

By providing strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight, the council ensures that volunteer efforts align with community needs and priorities while avoiding duplication of services.

St John has embarked on a journey to achieve the goal of ensuring that every community and young person across the country is first aid confident.

We are looking for a leader with a passion for local volunteering and helping communities to inspire and support volunteers on this journey across your county

The post will also interact with relevant Communities of Practice to share learning, advice and best practice.

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to embed ourselves within our communities, delivering support which is tailored to the needs of those communities whilst providing a positive experience for our Volunteers.

We need leaders who are passionate about making a difference in their communities, who care about helping and developing others, who will lead and inspire a volunteer movement across a geographical area to deliver Community First Aid, Community Education and Community Fundraising as well as develop our offering for young people. Through leading a team of Volunteer leaders, you will drive excellence in delivery, develop an inclusive and diverse volunteering experience for new and current volunteers, and help navigate through change to build a bigger and better St John Ambulance.

As Network Lead, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride through supporting a team and our volunteers to deliver our essential services. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation.

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We are recruiting Youth Helpers to assist at our various Cadet and Badger groups in Northamptonshire.

Youth Helpers work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units by supporting our Youth Leaders to deliver a sessions across our range of programmes. In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.

This vacancy is only open to University of Bristol Students who are members of the first aid society

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. 

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives. 

Through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time. 

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. You will be required to attend regular training nights at the University of Bristol Student's Union

Students will be welcomed into the society at the regular unit meeting nights and any new volunteers will be mentored by the committee and fellow society members. Inductions will take place at the same time and support will be provided by the local network leadership team alongside the committee.

There are multiple CFA courses running in the county that are accessible to the students. Additional courses may be run if we recruit enough members. We have trainers and the capacity to run the course, as well as transport available if required to a St John building.

Interview and Enrolment Day will be held in person at the Richmond Building 23/10/2025 timings TBC

We're looking for someone special to join our family as our first ever Volunteering Manager. This isn’t a typical job; it's a chance to build something beautiful from the ground up. You’ll be the heart behind the scenes, creating a home for our volunteers and helping us spread a little sunshine.

• Build and launch our entire volunteering programme.

• Find, welcome, and train new volunteers.

• Create a culture of kindness and joy.

• Make sure every volunteer feels valued, engaged, and like they belong.
