Volunteering is and always will be at the heart of Cats Protection. It is joyful and inclusive. As a charity, working in partnership, together we transform the lives of cats, people and communities.

The difference you will make to cats and people

From elderly moggies to energic kittens, every day across the UK cats and kittens are in need of a temporary place to stay, and lots of love and TLC! We need more fosterers like you to provide a safe, temporary haven for cats and kittens and provide them with everything they need before they get their chance to land on their four paws and make a house a home.

You can expect us to 

• Make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
• Support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• Ensure you have all you need in place to foster the cat(s) in your care, for example equipment and food
• Cover all your foster cats’ expenses and agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
• Provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you 

• A stable, safe and compassionate environment in your home or in a purpose-built pen in your garden provided by us
• Enrich the cats’ experience in care including play, exercise and appropriate handling/interaction
• A willingness to complete some training in order to provide high standards of cat welfare
• Introduce cats to prospective adopters so they can find their forever home

What will you be doing?

Our Board is chaired by Peter Carter and of made up of seven Directors. We plan to add 2-3 more to strengthen the skills and experience, and widen our diversity

The Board of Directors have overall oversight of Trinity Academy Newcastle Trust. In Trusts the purpose of Governance is to provide:-

• Strategic Leadership
• Accountability and Assurance
• Strategic Engagement.

As a Director, on the Board of Directors, you will work in partnership with the CEO, to set the strategic direction of the Trust, challenge Senior leaders and to take the Trust forward as an excellent example for the type of alternative provision that it offers.

Being a Director is a commitment to attending Board and Committee meetings that consider issues such as setting the Trust’s vision, mitigating financial risk and scrutinising educational outcomes, as well as overseeing the management side of the Trust.

Through oversight and strategic direction, the board will ensure that the Trust:

• Complies with governance documentation and relevant legislation
• Apply the resources solely towards pursing our purpose
• Have financial stability and sustainability
• Have effective  policies and procedures in place
• Evaluation performance against agreed goals

What are we looking for?

No previous experience is required and we welcome application from young and old alike from people with all kinds of backgrounds.

Our Directors must be:

• Willing and able to champion our Vision and Values
• Collaborative and open to new ideas
• Able to listen, express views constructively and be fair and objective.
• Reliable, ethical and honest
• Willing and able to contribute to the work of the Board
• Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check

We are particularly seeking applicants with one or more of the following:

• Experience of the education sector and/or further education
• An understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
• Advanced financial/ accounting  skills
• An understanding of adolescence mental health

Directors play a vital role in making sure that Trinity Academy Newcastle Trust achieves its strategic vision. The Directors have the overall management of the Trust and provide support, ideas and constructive challenge to the CEO and Executive Leadership team. As a Director you will be able to develop your professional skills and experience in areas such as strategic planning, chairing, policy implementation and teamwork.

Role Summary.

To bring our vision to life, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing our social media strategy. You will be responsible for scheduling and posting engaging and meaningful content that resonates with our audiences, promotes our educational programs, and nurtures our communities.

Key tasks

• Schedule and post platform-specific content across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

• Monitor the internal marketing calendar daily for updates and changes.

• Reply to comments, DMs, and replies in a timely manner using our unique Roots brand voice, as well as using automation tools for support.

• Collaborate with team members across Roots for content delivery and queries.

What we’re looking for

• Passion for Islamic education and the development of young Muslims. 

• Ability to monitor and post on social media platforms daily.

• Initiative and ability to think outside the box.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to multitask successfully.

Volunteers are entitled to claim expenses incurred for food, travel and equipment, in line with our Expenses policy.

Youth Helpers work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units, by supporting our Youth Leaders to deliver a sessions across our range of programmes. In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time. 

Pursuing the role

Role Summary.

To bring our vision to life, we are looking for a dedicated person to play a vital role in managing and strengthening our relationships with partner organisations (such as university Islamic Societies), with a focus on marketing and growth. You will work closely with external partners to increase the number of students attending Roots workshops through creative and innovative methods.

Key tasks

• Marketing Support - Provide guidance and resources to partners for marketing Roots workshops effectively, including sharing marketing collateral and leading growth initiatives.

• Performance Monitoring - Monitor the marketing efforts of partner organisations, track key performance metrics, and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.

• Communication Liaison - Serve as the primary point of contact through social media between our organisation and partner organisations, facilitating clear and consistent communication channels.

• Training and Onboarding - Conduct training sessions and onboarding for new partner organisations to familiarise them with our brand guidelines, marketing strategies, and communication protocols.

• Collaboration - Coordinate cross-functional efforts with internal teams, such as marketing, design, and external partnerships, to ensure alignment with partnership goals.

What we’re looking for

• Creative ideas and ability to think outside the box.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to multitask successfully.

• Proficiency in project management and organisational skills.

• Analytical mindset for assessing results and suggesting recommendations.

Design eye-catching shop displays and windows to attract customers and raise funds for PACT’s rescued animals.

• Create eye-catching shop in-store and window displays that draw customers in.
• Bring seasonal and promotional themes to life, making every visit exciting
• Keep displays tidy, well-stocked, and visually inspiring to maximise sales.

This Group meet on a Friday evening.

Photograph, create listings, and manage sales of donated items on eBay and Vinted to raise vital funds for PACT’s rescued animals,

• Photograph and list items on eBay and Vinted to showcase our amazing donations
• Write clear, engaging product descriptions that attract buyers
• Carefully package and dispatch sold items
• Monitor and respond to customer queries promptly
• Help grow our online presence and boost revenue for animals in our care

Help with collections and deliveries, load and unload items safely, support the driver on the road, and chat with donors and customers during pickups.

•  Join our driver on collection routes, visiting supporters and donors.
• Help load and unload donations and stock safely while keeping everything running smoothly.
• Be the friendly face of PACT, engage warmly with donors and customers.
• Handle items with care, following safe lifting practices to protect yourself and others.

Become the new friendly face in your local Tŷ Hafan charity shop!

This opportunity is a great way to develop new skills and enjoy yourself at the same time.

Our shops generate funds that directly support the whole family, from medical care and therapeutic services for children, to emotional and practical care for families, to sibling support activities & experiences.

Your role will help us continue providing vital care and support to Tŷ Hafan children and their families.

About our Port Talbot Shop:

Our Port Talbot shop, located in the Aberafan Shopping Centre, is one of our two outlet-style shops.

It offers a mix of full-priced items and mainly clearance stock from our other stores, ensuring we maximise income from all donations.

The management team spearhead a dedicated team of volunteers who manage a significant turnover of stock weekly.

The team relishes any opportunity to dress up and are often seen in a variety of fancy-dress costumes.

Considerations:

Age requirement: 16+

Location:Unit 28 Aberafan Shopping Centre, Port Talbot SA13 1PB  

Commitment:Our shops operate Monday-Sunday, 9am-5pm and we appreciate any time you can spare, but ideally at least 2 hours per week.

Shifts will be discussed during your informal chat.

Background checks: We will ask you to provide us with the details of two referees.

We are also looking for volunteers with a knowledge of jewellery and books.

Activities include:

• Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all customers entering the shop;
• Helping customers to locate items they are looking for;
• Serving customers at the till;
• Taking donations and promoting Gift Aid;
• Selling and processing our raffle/lottery tickets;
• Acting as an ambassador for Tŷ Hafan, promoting our Big Ambition within your local community..

This role is purely voluntary and this arrangement is not meant to be a legally binding one or an employment contract.

Become the new friendly face in your local Tŷ Hafan charity shop!

This opportunity is a great way to develop new skills and enjoy yourself at the same time.

Our shops generate funds that directly support the whole family, from medical care and therapeutic services for children, to emotional and practical care for families, to sibling support activities & experiences.

Your role will help us continue providing vital care and support to Tŷ Hafan children and their families.

Barry High Street is one of our longest standing shops. It is also one of our smallest shops, but boasts incredible volumes of donations from our supporters.

The shop is supported by a fantastic team of volunteers who work incredibly hard to turn over the high volumes of stock.

Considerations:

Age requirement: 16+

Location: 2 High Street, Barry, CF62 7DZ

Commitment:Our shops operate Monday-Saturday, 9am-4:45pm and we appreciate any time you can spare, but ideally at least 2 hours per week.

Shifts will be discussed during your informal chat.

Background checks: We will ask you to provide us with the details of two referees.

Activities include:

•  Sorting and pricing donations according to our guidelines (or your own knowledge if applicable);
•  Preparing items for sale, including steaming, ironing, tagging and labelling;
•  Moving items to the shop floor;
•  Keeping the stockroom clean and safe;
• Creating attractive displays to showcase our unique donations.

This role is purely voluntary and this arrangement is not meant to be a legally binding one or an employment contract.

Providing care and support is something we are only able to do because of the kindness and commitment of our wonderful staff, supporters and volunteers.

Could you be the heart of our shops, welcoming customers, spreading smiles, and helping create a warm, positive shopping experience.

• Welcome and assist customers, make every visitor feel valued and part of something special.
• Serve at the till with a smile. Every sale helps fund the rescue, care, and rehoming of animals in need.
• Refresh and restock displays, create an inviting shop that inspires customers to browse, buy, and support PACT.
• Share PACT’s mission and events, spread the word and help more people discover how they can make a difference for animals.
