We are seeking new Trustees who wish to share our passion for Weston and our vision for its future. We welcome individuals who can bring insight, experience, and commitment to the governance of the charity - Helping us to grow as a vibrant place where culture, learning and wellbeing come together – making people feel inspired and connected. In particular, we are looking for Trustees whose expertise lies in the heritage, financial or land management sectors.
About us
Who We Are
The Weston Park Foundation (WPF) is a charity governed by a Board of Trustees meeting twice yearly. The Foundation's assets run to many millions of pounds, with many of its treasures to be found within the House. The Park is some 1,000 acres, including two Capability Brown landscapes.

WPF has a wholly owned and successful subsidiary, Weston Park Enterprises Ltd (WPEL), which trades at Weston: not just general tourism and visits, but a restaurant, cafe and an Art Gallery in the Granary, corporate hospitality, leisure and cultural tour residential stays in the House, major events in the Park, as well as six holiday rentals.
Since its inception in 1986, the trustees have been able to restore the House and its possessions, the park, and the gardens to a superlative condition. Exciting new projects are in the pipeline aimed at increasing and diversifying income streams.

The Role
We are seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of Weston Park. This is an opportunity to play a vital role in guiding a nationally significant heritage organisation, supporting its growth and fulfilling the charity’s purpose of conservation and preservation.

Time Commitment
Two Board meetings held annually in person each held over 2 days excluding preparation and travel.
- Where relevant this may also include attendance at Audit Committee meetings.
- Attendance at ad hoc meetings including membership of subcommittees will be required which may be attended remotely if needed.
- For those Trustees who become members of the Executive Management Committee (subject to interest and availability) attendance at 5 meetings a year in addition to this will be required.
- Trustees may claim reasonable expenses for travel in line with our expenses policy.

Volunteering for Sense
Sense is a leading disability charity with extensive knowledge and expertise in delivering personalised, creative and flexible support for disabled people with complex needs. Our tailored approach ensures that every person is empowered to live fully at every stage of life.
Due to the nature of the role, we require all applicants to be aged 16 or over. You must have a UK address to volunteer with Sense.
What your role will involve
You’ll get the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, including:
- Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
- Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
- Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.
- Helping to display stock in eye-catching and exciting ways.
- Keeping the shop floor clean, safe and tidy.
- Talking to customers about Sense and the work we do.
When you’re ready, we’ll provide you with additional training to:
- Serve customers on the till in a warm and friendly way.
- Put sales through the till, packing them and thanking the customer for shopping with us.
- Talk to customers about Gift Aid and other fundraising initiatives.
If you’re interested in taking on additional responsibilities, you can train to become a Key Volunteer, helping the shop manager by:
- Helping supervise the shop and other volunteers.
- Supporting the shop manager to make sure customers have a great experience.
- Opening and closing the shop when needed.
- Cashing up at the end of the day.

At Hope After Harm our New Leaf Young Peoples’ project offers a lifeline to vulnerable young people in the Thames Valley Area through our trained volunteers who offer support and guidance when they need it.
All we ask of you is your time. Just commit to one or two hours a week to meet the young person at their school for up to 16 weeks, and to be available to them by telephone at hours agreed between you and them.

The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.
We need volunteers to provide emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending Inquests at Coroners' Court. Our volunteers at court also provide help and assistance to the Coroners' Officers, as and when required.
We are looking for reliable, supportive people with excellent communication skills. A mature and calm attitude is needed in order to be able to talk to people during a sometimes bewildering and emotional experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a period of observations and shadowing, as well as attend a 3 day training course. A minimum commitment of one day (9:00am - 5:00pm) per fortnight is asked for. Training and mentoring is provided and travel expenses to the court are reimbursed.
New volunteers should possess good communication and listening skills and the ability to empathise with people they support.

We’re looking for one Support Group Volunteer over the age of 18 years old, based at Fosse Rider Pavillion, 241 Glenfield Road, LE3 6DL.
You’ll be volunteering every third Thursday of the month between 10:30am and 12:30pm.
As a support group volunteer, you will help with the running of the group. The role is designed to suit the needs of the group, and the skills of people offering support. If you enjoy getting to know your community, working with others and making a real difference then this is the role for you.

The Guildford Institute is a small charity providing cultural education to the local community and beyond. The role
We are seeking a Marketing Intern to support the work of our Marketing and Communications Officer in raising the Institute’s profile to ensure as many people as possible can benefit from the Institute’s programme and wider offering.
You will primarily assist in marketing the Institute’s course and events programme, along with its room hire offering, the library, café and community initiatives. The Marketing Intern will gain valuable experience in marketing and communications across print, digital and social channels.
