HCPT is seeking a visionary and results-driven Strategic Director of Fundraising and Communications to lead the organisation’s income growth from £650,000 to over £2 million by October 2028. This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering a multi-stream fundraising strategy and a compelling communications approach that amplifies HCPT’s mission and impact.

The Strategic Director of Fundraising and Communications will ensure that HCPT’s mission is visible, engaging for our existing and new pilgrims and supporters and is well funded to ensure we can deliver THE BEST pilgrimage experience we can offer as defined and measured by our beneficiaries and volunteers.

This is a senior role in volunteer-led organisation and as such the successful postholder will be required to exercise flexibility with evening and weekend work to meet the business needs of the charity, given the availability of our volunteer leaders who have professional commitments during the day.

About the role

As the Engagement and Assessment Team Leader, your team will be the first point of contact for someone who comes to Crisis for help to prevent or end their homelessness. You will be responsible for

• Ensuring that your team:
• • Welcomes them to the service on site and at partner agencies (if applicable), listening carefully and non-judgementally to their story,

• • Complete thorough Crisis and Mainstay assessments using a trauma informed approach,

• • Agree realistic options and the support needed to assist them to prevent their homelessness or a pathway out of homelessness helping them formulate a holistic plan take the initial steps, where necessary.

• • Effectively manage a caseload of members who require short term intervention to end their homelessness in a timely manner.

• Supervision and line management of your team/volunteers, including rota management to ensure effective service delivery.

• The initial contact space and service everyone contacting the Skylight will experience, ensuring that it is a psychologically informed approach

• Holding a small caseload, as required.

• Ensuring that you effectively integrate with the Crisis Client Services team on a day-to-day basis; to make collaborative, consistent and Psychologically Informed relationships with members, colleagues, volunteers and partners.

• Excellent knowledge of relevant homelessness, housing and welfare legislation
• Experience of working with individuals affected by homelessness or with complex and multiple support needs
• Experience of providing excellent customer service with a commitment to deliver the highest standard of customer care

The Volunteer Coordinator we are looking for will enjoy this unique opportunity to grow and develop our current volunteer work into a thriving and sustainable programme. Our large Cadbury family home with five acres of beautiful grounds is a retreat centre for justice, reconciliation and peace and, as a result of this role, will become a fantastic space for volunteers to flourish while supporting the physical place, vision and work of the charity.

Our current volunteer work includes a small group of local individuals who meet for a monthly volunteer days to work on the grounds and maintenance, and who support our retreat and fundraising events. A relationship with BT has enabled us to begin to offer voluntary opportunities for their local staff and this area is ready to be developed. Volunteers of all faiths and none are invited, but not required, to participate in the rhythm of prayer at the house, and all have the opportunity to hear about the vision and work as part of their experience with us. To work with our bookings a development plan may look like a more regular midweek volunteer day, a regular Sunday volunteer day and a schedule of individual volunteering tasks to be undertaken when staff are onsite during the week.

This post is initially funded for one year. If the role proves fruitful The Greenhouse will seek grant funding to extend it; however, continuation beyond the first year cannot be guaranteed.

Job Purpose:

 We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Engagement Manager to join our team in Aberdeenshire. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values. 

As our Engagement Manager, you will directly support people aged 16+ who may have complex and challenging barriers preventing them from securing a positive pathway.  The role will include identifying barriers and helping to build the tools needed to remove them. Supporting with pre volunteering activity as well as volunteering placements in their local area.

You will identify, develop, and manage partnerships with charitable and not-for-profit organisations across Aberdeenshire, building an effective presence within the third sector locally.  You will create diverse, high-quality, structured volunteering opportunities with charity partner organisations, ensuring that volunteering roles reflect the needs and interests of those we support. You will also support the creation of strong referral pathways into our service, and beyond it, building on a knowledge of existing provision. As part of the All-in-Aberdeenshire consortium you will be a positive bridge to support people into positive destinations such as employment, training or further education.

Key Duties Responsibilities

· To engage directly with people 16+ to understand their wants, needs and aspirations and determine the best opportunity for each person and provide the support they need in advance of volunteering.

· To support on a 1:1 basis, in person or digitally with the volunteer to create an action plan in line with the All in Aberdeenshire outcomes.

· To work in partnership with All-in-Aberdeenshire consortium to achieve outcomes and secure individuals positive destinations such as employment, education and training.

· To develop and maintain good relationships with referral partners such as The Council, DWP, SDS etc to ensure a steady stream of referrals are received.

· To Liaise with referral sources, regarding new and existing referrals.

· To identify, create and develop relationships with new charity partners or agencies to provide bespoke and tailored volunteering opportunities.  These opportunities will help the individuals supported to gain experience, confidence and support them on route to a positive destination.

· To manage the risk assessment, quality assurance, and audit processes as appropriate.

· Ensure monitoring, impact and evaluation of information and data is collected and that the project meets its agreed targets, reporting format and schedule.  Assist the Delivery Leader by preparing reports to funders.

· To ensure all the above is done with excellent record keeping, in accordance with compliance requirements and systems.

We’re looking for an organised, detail-focused leader to run our winter night shelter across multiple church venues. You’ll coordinate and support volunteers and our Resettlement Worker, ensuring the shelter runs smoothly, safely, and with Christ at the centre of all activities. This hands-on role requires experience leading or working with volunteers, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex, community-based projects. Our retail business is a key driver for organisational success. The Hospice of St Francis Charity provides essential free care across West Hertfordshire and South Buckinghamshire.  More than 80% of the income we spend comes from trading and fundraising. Our retail performance (sales and profit) benchmarks at the very top of the sector with award winning and innovative retail formats supported by a strong volunteer base and shop team delivering outstanding customer service. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

· Line management and mentoring 5 direct line reports and oversight accountability for a team of 33 whole time equivalent employees (53 people) and 500 volunteers

· Maintain and improve our performance at the top of the charity retail sector nationally

· Hold oversight of leases and ensure effective lease management

· Accountability for delivering more than £3.5m in annual sales, with levels of engagement, profit and performance that deliver the strategic aims of the Charity

· Accountability for retail Gift Aid income and HMRC compliance assuring at least £300k annually from retail claims

· Project manage the process of new shop openings as required

About the opportunity
Working closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and wider Philanthropy Department, the Corporate Partnerships Coordinator will identify and cultivate fruitful partnerships with a range of small, medium and large businesses.
They will help maximise the potential of corporate and other organisations for funding, volunteer recruitment, and other philanthropic opportunities, to enable growth and sustainability for Action Tutoring. This will be achieved by securing and nurturing small to medium sized organisations to provide financial support for programmes. Additionally, the Corporate Partnerships Coordinator will engage with business to generate volunteers from across the country to deliver both online and face to face tutoring.
