Derbyshire Dales Community Energy (DDCE) is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual to coordinate our activities and drive forward renewable energy projects. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a sustainable future rooted in local communities.

Responsibilities

About the role: 

• Working in collaboration with service leadership colleagues and staff team to identify meaningful opportunities for volunteers
• Supporting with leadership duties across both treatment service and recovery service
• Creating and supporting a positive culture of volunteering within the service
• Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers, peer mentors and recovery champions
• Line manages the recovery champions in post and support them with their professional development
• Be the service lead with coproduction projects across sites including coproduction space and service user activities
• Supporting the welfare and wellbeing of volunteers, peer mentors and recovery champions
• Managing a volunteer recruitment and support strategy within the service

Purpose of the Job

The role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering mental health services across Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, and Hounslow.

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, supporting, and retaining volunteers across the charity. You will ensure that volunteers have a positive experience, receive appropriate training and guidance, and feel valued for the time and skills they give. You will also work closely with staff to match volunteers to roles.

We currently offer three types of volunteering roles at HFEH Mind:

• Client facing support– Working alongside staff supporting service users
• Events – Supporting outreach & fundraising efforts and promoting our work
• Central Support – Blogging, graphic design, administration, etc.

General/Key Responsibilities

• Interview, recruit, onboard, and induct new volunteers in line with organisational needs, maintaining around 50-60 volunteers across the charity.
• Work with staff to identify new volunteering opportunities and develop volunteer role descriptions.
• Work effectively to ensure volunteers feel a part of HFEH Mind and gain value from their time with us.
• Develop and maintain volunteer policies, role descriptions, and procedures.
• Ensure all volunteering activity adheres to safeguarding, GDPR and health and safety policies.
• Promote volunteering opportunities through social media, local networks, and community partnerships
• Develop and deliver engaging volunteer training, support sessions and recognition initiatives.
• Be the main point of contact to support volunteers, listen to suggestions and/or concerns and support in resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints.
• Provide advice and guidance to volunteers about their matched relationship (with support from the wider team) and highlight safeguarding concerns as appropriate.
• Ensure each volunteer is assigned a named supervisor and receives appropriate supervision (at least every 4–6 weeks depending on role)

Volunteering Experience

• Ensure volunteers are receiving regular supervision and support during their placement.
• Monitor volunteer satisfaction, provide ongoing recognition and celebrate volunteer contributions
• Regularly report on the volunteer experience, including both quantitative and qualitative feedback & exit interviews

Administrative

• Maintain an up-to-date volunteer database and contact list.
• Support Director of Adult Services to provide reflective practice sessions for service-facing volunteers. 
• Ensure volunteer training compliance is at required levels.

Other Responsibilities

• Join monthly volunteer meeting with Operational Directors, Head of Marketing & Communications and Head of HR.
• Ensure that  equity and inclusion are at the heart of our volunteering programme  and share in our commitment to equality of opportunity and to eliminating discrimination.
• Contribute to our fundraising effort by embracing opportunities to fundraise yourself, to promote fundraising and to support the fundraising team.
• Share our commitment to safeguarding adults and children at risk of harm, and ensure that volunteers are trained in and adhere to safe practice.
• Ensure that information is obtained, used and stored in accordance with our Data Protection and Confidentiality policy.

Essential

• Experience of working with or coordinating volunteers, ideally in a charity.
• An understanding of and commitment to improving the mental health of our communities, and ability to ensure that volunteers with lived experience of mental health problems are included and supported.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with people with from diverse communities with a range of life experiences, views and reasons for volunteering
• Ability to support, organise, and motivate people, and ensure that volunteers feel like they belong within the organisation

6. Provide Flexible Shop Cover and Support Growth

This field-based role requires flexibility across seven days. You’ll provide cover during staff absences and be involved in launching and supporting new shops as we expand across London

The Diocese of Rochester is committed to equipping its churches and leaders for growth and transformation. As part of this, we are seeking a Missional Development Parishes (MDP) Project Manager to join our Programme Team based at the Diocesan Office in Rochester.

The MDP Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of 15 strategically funded parish projects supported by the National Church. Working with the Head of Programmes, Diocesan colleagues, and parish representatives, the Project Manager will oversee planning, budgeting, governance, and reporting processes across the MDP project. This role will be vital in supporting parish leaders and PCCs to lead and deliver their local MDP initiatives effectively.

The successful applicant will be an experienced and highly organised project manager, with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to manage risk, track project outcomes, and support change across a variety of contexts. A background in monitoring and evaluation is important, and a desire to serve the mission of the Church will be key to thriving in this role. Experience of working with Church of England structures is desirable but not essential.

· Build strong working relationships with the 15 MDPs, acting as a governance and communications link with the Diocesan MDP Project Board

· Oversee and report on progress, risks, outcomes, and finances across all MDP projects

Community Fundraising Manager

The Role

As Community Fundraising Manager, you’ll support and inspire a vibrant network of community fundraisers and volunteer ambassadors. About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. 

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed. We then need to work with the right people that can make change happen, across systems, policies and practice, to have a real impact on reducing violence affecting children’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

Deciding which projects, we should fund and evaluate is key, as is making sure we deliver our funding and evaluations to the highest standards. Our Programme Managers are responsible for identifying, assessing, funding and supporting programmes designed to prevent youth violence.

Programme Managers at YEF come from all walks of life. We look for individuals who may have experience in the youth sector, children’s social care, policing, criminal justice, education or how to involve local residents in making decisions about their own neighbourhoods.

As a Programme Manager at YEF, you will work very closely with our evaluation team to make sure we learn from what’s being implemented and that the organisations we fund are prepared and excited to work with us to find what works.

To achieve this, you will:

· Make sure we choose the best organisations to work with by assessing funding applications, critically appraising delivery plans and budgets, getting to know potential grantees and conducting site visits. These assessments will help you form recommendations to our senior leadership team about which opportunities to pursue.

· Work closely with grantees, external evaluators and our own evaluation team to ensure that the activity we are funding will be evaluable. This requires you to support and advise grantees on how to work in the context of an evaluation – usually, a randomised trial (you don’t have to have experience working on a randomised trial in the past, but it helps!).

· Build strong relationships with our grantees and provide them with ongoing management and support through the life of their funding. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of grantees and ensuring targets are met and any project risks are effectively mitigated.

· Think carefully about how we find the best projects to fund and evaluate, ensuring we can best find what works to keep children safe. To do this you might need to work with colleagues to spot where there has previously been a lack of evidence about what works (we will help you with this!). You would project manage these projects so they are excellently delivered – on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You will help to determine what our commissioning processes aim to achieve and design grant application processes to achieve it.

· You’ll manage our engagement with potential grantees to make sure we are attracting a diverse and promising portfolio of organisations to apply.

· Report to our team and external stakeholders regularly on how well the projects we are funding are going, spotting where grantees need support and coming up with how we can best provide that support.

· Represent the Youth Endowment Fund at external events, including reporting and presenting to our Grants and Evaluation Committee, who approve all our funding decisions.

About You

About the team 

The Data Operations Team sits within the wider Supporter Experience and Operations team, within the Mass Engagement Department at WaterAid. The team is responsible for enabling a high-quality supporter experience through best in class data operations, ensuring tasks are effectively managed across the team. About the role 

As our Data Operations Manager, you will ensure the accuracy and efficient management of data imports and core income processes such as the Direct Debit and Gift Aid claims. You will work closely with key stakeholders in Performance and Insight, Finance and Mass Engagement to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will: 

• Manage the day-to-day data operations (including data imports, Direct Debit submissions, submitting Gift Aid claims to HMRC)
• Line Manage two Data Operations Officers, providing support, coaching and mentoring 
• Manage the workload and responsibilities of the Data Operations Team, ensuring that tasks are carried out on schedule and within agreed SLAs 
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy through automation or system enhancements 
• Build strong operational relationships with key stakeholders in the Data Engineering and CRM teams, as well as with WaterAid’s third party agencies, to identify areas for improvements and rapid problem fixing, particularly in relation to managing data rejects

Bipolar is a severe mental health condition, characterised by extreme mood changes that range from manic highs to suicidal lows, affecting 2% of the UK population, and we are seeking a candidate who can work as part of our developing engagement in research, alongside our dedicated team of staff and volunteers in realising our ambition of making a far reaching and meaningful difference to the everyday lives of those impacted by Bipolar.

This role is 90% remote working. 

The Postdoctoral Research Manager will assist the Director of Research in running Bipolar UK’s Research Division:

• working with the charity and its multiple partner projects and collaborators to deliver on our current research commitments
• to develop the long-term sustainability of the Bipolar UK Research Division

This is an exciting role which will combine overseeing and managing existing and prospective research partnerships with research teams around the country and world, and taking part in the development of Bipolar UK-led research.

Current research partners include teams at UCL, Oxford, Cardiff and the GW4 Alliance, Swansea, King’s College London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Lancaster, Liverpool, together with international organisations such as The Global Bipolar Cohort and the International Society for Bipolar Disorders. Our aim at Bipolar UK is to integrate research into the charity in a way which combines more traditional elements of facilitating lived experience involvement alongside actively contributing to and directing research. We are also striving to increase awareness of bipolar and to campaign for more bipolar-specific research, addressing the ‘bipolar gap’ within research and services.

Bipolar UK is very much a user-driven organisation. Approximately one-third of our staff, including our Director of Research, have lived experience of bipolar themselves, while many more have lived experience through family or close friends.
