SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through SANEline, our Call Back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies through its Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE research.

About the Role

We are looking for people interested in providing compassionate support to people affected by mental health problems. This includes supporting people with severe mental illness, and carers, families and friends. You will provide support by telephone, email and text, as well as supporting our skilled volunteers through their development and weekly shifts.

This role also provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people.

Job Description

Job summary 

As Grants and Impact Manager you will be stewarding high-profile Trust and Foundation donors, researching new prospects, and writing compelling applications using detailed case studies compiled by the team. You will also coordinate the development of a new Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) programme, strengthening our ability to measure, understand, and communicate the impact of our work. A key part of this will be focusing on evidencing and enhancing the positive change created by Caring in Bristol, ensuring that funders and stakeholders can clearly see the difference their support makes.

About the role  

As our Grants and Impact Manager, you will play a pivotal role in sustaining and growing Caring in Bristol’s income from Trusts, Foundations and statutory grants, by acquiring and managing high-value funder relationships. Alongside this, you will take the lead in developing and embedding a clear, organisation-wide Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) programme. This new focus will enable us to set measurable goals, track progress, and capture the real-world impact of our work - ensuring we can tell a compelling, evidence-based story to funders, partners, and the wider community. 

You will identify and lead the creation of high-quality trust and foundation applications and proposals, working closely with the Head of Trusts and Foundations, and take responsibility for a portfolio of funders, building strong, long-term relationships, improving funder satisfaction and securing continued or increased investment in our mission. 

Beyond managing relationships, you will help transform the way we demonstrate impact. By collaborating with service delivery staff to develop our impact monitoring practices you will ensure we can report back to funders with clarity, consistency, and confidence - showing exactly how their support translates into tangible outcomes for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Bristol. 

You will also be instrumental in delivering a best-practice funder engagement programme, finding innovative ways to create value for funders through tailored reports, webinars, site visits, and other forms of involvement. Acting as an ambassador for Caring in Bristol, you will represent us to funders and stakeholders with credibility and passion, using your insight to strengthen our reputation and influence. 

Finally, you will act as a voice of the funder within the charity, ensuring their perspective shapes our project design, monitoring, and communications. Working collaboratively with colleagues across service delivery, income generation, and finance, you will help embed practices that not only improve funder relationships today but also make Caring in Bristol more strategically and sustainably fundable for the future.

The Role

What will I be doing?

• Managing a portfolio of public engagement events, including the delivery of the summer exhibition in Dublin each year and public engagement events across NI, Scotland and Wales
• Working with colleagues from across the organisation, particularly those in the Membership and National teams to support member led or member involved approaches to public engagement, with members supported and enabled to deliver appropriate activities that impactfully contribute to the IOP’s strategic goals.
• Support the development of public engagement content that demonstrates the value of physics and its applications to our lives and the full range of career and education pathways that can be accessed through doing physics
• Support the evaluation of Public Engagement Events to ensure the ongoing improvement pf our programme

Founded in 2015 by Michael and Yvette Mansfield, SOS Silence of Suicide exists to break the silence around mental health and suicide. Initially a peer-support group, SOS is now a growing charity offering multi-channel support services via a national helpline, mobile hubs, and in-person outreach. The grants operations and data manager is a newly created role, within Moorfields Eye Charity's grants and research team, to support, manage and develop grant funding operations. This is a really exciting time to join the team as this position will play a key role in the ongoing optimisation of the teams grants management system (Flexigrant, implemented 2024) and also the underpinning funding operations to support the delivery of our first grants strategy, due to be launched in early 2026.

We have ambitious plans. We have put into action a five-year business plan that is supporting our growth from raising and funding around £6 million annually to becoming a £10 million a year charity.

Donnington Doorstep Family Centre is an independent, community-based children’s centre, governed by a board of trustees, delivering a range of universal and specialist services. We’re seeking a Finance Manager to lead robust financial reporting and governance across 80 parish sites, while supporting central operations from our Crawley base.

In this key role, you’ll produce timely and accurate management accounts, oversee cloud-based reporting, and lead on the preparation of annual statutory accounts. You’ll be the primary contact for external auditors and play a central part in reporting to our Trustees and Diocesan Finance Committee.

You’ll also manage cashflow forecasting, tax compliance, treasury and investment activity, and VAT (for one subsidiary). Charity sector experience is highly desirable, but your collaborative, flexible leadership—especially of a diverse network of staff and volunteer finance teams—will be most essential.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll oversee the support of cloud-based reporting for 80 parish sites and the delivery of timely, accurate management accounts for central operations based at our Crawley site. You will have a key role in providing high-quality financial reporting to our Trustees and Diocesan Finance Committee (DFC). You'll also lead the team in producing statutory audited accounts, acting as the principal contact for external auditors.

This is an in person role which involves the supervision of junior staff, it is based at our Crawley office (option for some hybrid working).

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a Full Time, Fixed Term Basis until December 2026.

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Harrogate Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.

Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to on a rota basis which will include weekend, evening, and bank holiday working.

There is free parking outside the store and extensive and regular bus routes. 

Some but not all key responsibilities are:

• Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
• Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.
• Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.

The Fundraising Manager will be instrumental in supporting the wider team with our fundraising efforts. They will work closely with the Senior Management Team and the External Relations department along with the wider cathedral community. The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for trust and grangt funding applications as well as identifying new potential sources of income. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

Essential
Experience in a Fundraising / Development role.
Demonstrable capacity to raise funds from trusts and foundations.
Exceptional communication skills, together with a confident and professional approach.
Must be self-motivated whilst understanding the importance of working as part of a team.
Sympathetic towards and supportive of the mission and values of the cathedral.
High level of administrative competence and comfortable handling and reporting on financial information.
The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a range of people including cathedral colleagues and external organisations.

We need a new Library of Things Manager to run our Frenchay site, on the UWE campus, working with the rest of our small team of staff and volunteers to make borrowing as convenient as buying.

Job title: Library of Things Manager (Frenchay)
Reports to: Operations and Development Manager
Based from: Share Bristol Frenchay, University of the West of England, Frenchay Campus, Coldharbour Lane, Bristol BS16.
Contract: Permanent
Work pattern: £12.75 per hour, minimum of 12 hrs a week. The 12 hours per week are to include the following hours onsite at Share Bristol on the UWE Frenchay campus.
Core hours will be:
– Tuesdays 4:45-7:15pm
– Wednesdays 11:45-2:15pm
– Fridays 9:45-12:15pm
Other hours can be worked flexibly either on or off-site.

Oversee the Share Bristol Frenchay Library of Things, ensuring it meets the needs of the local community, and work in partnership with the rest of the Share Bristol team to ensure the success of our charity and our Library of Things service.

This role is responsible for the day to day running of the Frenchay Library of Things, recruiting and supporting our volunteers, helping us engage with partner organisations, including UWE, managing our Thing donations and inventory, and assisting our current and potential members.

We’re looking for someone to start as soon as practical, and work around 12 hours a week. The working hours will be mainly around when we are open for lending sessions. We’re accredited with the Living Wage Foundation, so you know you will be paid fairly, and you benefit from free membership of Share Bristol, so you can borrow whatever you want, whenever you want, for free!
