We are looking for a dynamic and technically skilled Head of Evaluation to design and deliver high-quality evaluation programmes that generate actionable evidence to improve youth employment outcomes in England. 

You will work closely with the Director of Impact and Evidence and Deputy Director of Evidence and Evaluation to lead a team of Evidence and Evaluation Managers.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Evidence and Evaluation, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery of a portfolio of complex impact evaluations.

• You will manage a team of Evaluation Managers, supporting their development while delivering projects that inform Youth Futures’ strategic goals.
• You will design and manage complex programmes of evidence generation to understand what works to support young people into good work. These programmes will focus on impact evaluations and so you will have an in-depth understanding of quantitative impact evaluations, especially Randomised Controlled Trials and quasi-experimental designs.
• You will have a sound understanding of youth employment and/or skills and design evidence-generating projects in a complex field that includes partners from national and devolved government, the third sector and employers.

This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

Through the appointment of a Strategic Programme Director (SPD), we have been given an opportunity to bring a step change in our mission and ministry across the Diocese of Coventry.  With a history of innovative missional practice and a dedicated team of lay and ordained leaders across our diverse geographical area (Warwickshire, Coventry and part of Solihull), we are looking to appoint a strategic thinker who is solutions focused with experience in bringing impactful change. The SPD will join us at an exciting time in the strategic development of the Diocese of Coventry as our new diocesan bishop takes up her responsibilities with a vision to see all churches flourish. A highly consultative approach will be needed as we look ahead to the beginning of this new season.

The Strategic Programme Director will be responsible for contributing to and supporting the Bishop’s Senior Staff Team and key lay and ordained leaders in the delivery of the diocesan strategy. The role will ensure that the programmes, projects and workstreams within the plan are delivered on time, within scope and budget. The Programme Director will provide oversight of the strategic plan from inception of ideas through implementation to delivery of projects.  Working collaboratively across the Diocese, the role will also ensure that key outcomes are well-defined, appropriately prioritised, delivered to plan and within budget. We are looking for a capable and committed Client Support and Engagement Worker to join our team. This role requires someone with strong organisational skills, a calm and thoughtful approach, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by people with insecure immigration status.

You will work across our Client Support and Accommodation Teams, supporting clients with practical casework, supporting our new referrals process, and ensuring effective access to our welfare, interpreting, and accompanying support. You will also lead on the administrative coordination of the Accompanying Team, with some development responsibilities.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same — combining 1:1 work with clients, behind-the-scenes coordination, and collaborative working with volunteers and colleagues. You’ll be supported to work in a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive way that centres client dignity and autonomy.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience working directly with vulnerable people in a support or advocacy setting

• Can manage multiple priorities and tasks with clarity and care

• Is confident in handling sensitive information and managing professional boundaries

• Has a good working knowledge of the asylum and migration system, or a willingness to learn

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life. We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society. Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.

We are currently looking for an OTW Project Assistant who will support the delivery of the On The Water project at one of our boating stations in Birmingham. The project provides young people from outside Sea Cadets, age 9-14, the opportunity to get on the water, learn new skills and build confidence through boating activity. This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, inspiring, organized, creative, tenacious, positive, IT competent and with a real interest in people with a attention to detail and real enthusiasm for the project.

Project delivery takes place between 29 July 2024 and 30 August 2025 when the young people will be attending boating sessions. During this busy time the Project Assistant will be based at the boat station each day to complete registration, manage group change overs, track project targets, encourage survey completion and fill booking gaps. Prior to delivery the role will be focused on supporting the booking process and engaging in community outreach. Once delivery is complete, the Project Assistant role will then predominantly be supporting the evaluation and data collection as well as supporting participants to join their local Sea Cadet unit.

Key Responsibilities

• The welcoming and registration of participants for the On The Water project
• Collecting and uploading daily statistics and figures that show how the project is progressing
• Making new and repeat bookings
• Talking to participants and their parents/carers about the opportunities within Sea Cadets
• Managing a waiting list and reducing drop-outs
• Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of participants alongside the Boat Station staff
• Ensure that participants complete surveys to share their experience of the project and encourage adults to feedback on their young people’s experience
• Attend any meetings as required by the project
• Assist with the evaluation of the On The Water project

Responsibilities/ Role

• Support and develop relationships across the community income stream from new and existing partners with a plan to maintain and grow income in subsequent years in line with our fundraising strategy.
• Undertake research into potential new campaigns and advances in community fundraising.
• Grow and steward a pipeline of new and existing audiences and fundraising opportunities, ensuring to always maintain the highest quality supporter journey.
• Work closely with the Head of Income Generation and existing Fundraising team to identify potential strategic relationships and opportunities.
• As a senior member of the Income Generation Team, you will contribute to robust financial planning, management and reporting of income and expenditure in your own areas of expertise on a monthly basis.
• Lead on specific community fundraising initiatives as agree with the Head of Income Generation.
• Collaborate with the fundraising team to identify relevant products/ events/ campaigns/ Gifts-in-Kind that will be of interest to existing and potential supporters and work with communications team to produce literature and resources to demonstrate need and impact
• Delivery of health hour talks, with support from other members of the team as required, to secure funding.
• Achieve Financial and non-financial targets and KPI’s as agreed with the Head of Income Generation.
• Develop and support our ongoing stewardship journey for community Fundraisers and increase average gift though exceptional supporter care and a proactive approach.
• Pro-actively utilise charity database, maintaining and nurturing existing relationships and finding new supporters and/or networks.
• Undertake any other relevant duties and projects delegated by the Head of Income Generation and Senior Management Team.
• In their absence provide cover for members of the fundraising team.

When thinking about the profile of individuals who would be well suited to this role and who will help bring our events and donor stewardship in the UK to the next level, it is likely you will have consolidated events experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing some funds, ideally through relationship-driven fundraising activity.
