You bring extensive experience in managing services that support individuals with mental health conditions and complex needs, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. Your leadership background includes recruitment, induction, supervision, performance appraisal, and staff development, as well as managing disciplinary and grievance procedures with fairness and professionalism. You are skilled in performance monitoring, ensuring services meet and exceed quality standards while maintaining compliance with organisational and statutory requirements.

With strong financial management skills, you have effectively managed complex budgets, ensuring accountability, value for money, and sustainability. Your deep understanding of mental health crisis management enables you to design and deliver responsive, recovery-focused services, often working collaboratively with peer support workers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.

You possess excellent knowledge of Community Care, Mental Health, Health and Safety, and welfare benefits legislation, including welfare reform, and have a proven ability to work in partnership with statutory mental health services. You are adept at assessing, formulating, implementing, and reviewing support and risk management plans, ensuring they remain tailored to service user needs and aspirations.

A confident communicator, you can represent and promote your organisation at external events, delivering engaging presentations and contributing to marketing and stakeholder engagement activities. Technically proficient, you are confident using Microsoft Office and case management systems to produce and audit accurate records, reports, and data.

Your excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with a solid understanding of safeguarding principles, ensure that you consistently deliver safe, accountable, and effective services that empower individuals while protecting their wellbeing and rights.

Overall purpose

The Employer Engagement Manager (EEM) will play a critical role in ensuring refugees supported by Breaking Barriers access meaningful, opportunities that align with client needs and labour market demand. The postholder will lead employer outreach and partnership building in priority sectors and embed consistent systems and processes that make employer engagement coordinated and impactful across the organisation. The EEM will support pathways, work placements, recruitment pipelines and workshops by ensuring employer input is actively embedded where relevant.

This is a strategic, hands-on role, the successful candidate will map and cultivate employer relationships, secure employer input into sector pathways, workshops and recruitment initiatives, translate labour market intelligence into programme improvements, and design the operational processes that enable Programmes and Corporate Partnerships to work together effectively. You will operate in a matrix environment, collaborating closely with the Programmes, Corporate Partnerships and Client Services teams but will not hold direct line-management of delivery staff.

The role is set up to be ambitious but achievable within 12 months. The priority is to build tested, repeatable employer engagement practice (relationships, processes, insight-sharing and measurable impact) that can form the foundations of a permanent employer engagement function if/when funding allows.

Other considerations

• This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months. Toward the end of the term, a review will be conducted to assess the impact and scope of the role, with the intention to adapt into a permanent position subject to funding and organisational need.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

The role involves assisting the Contracts and Procurement Manager in the letting and management of corporate contracts, representing Hestia at external meetings and in matters related to approved suppliers as directed. It ensures compliance with all current legislation concerning contracts and procured services, and includes drafting comprehensive procurement specifications in collaboration with operational staff, consultants, contractors, and other agents. The role is responsible for internal monitoring and auditing of approved suppliers and compliance obligations, identifying recurring issues or performance concerns, providing solutions, and escalating matters to senior management as needed, as well as compiling supplier performance information for reporting. It includes responding formally to contract queries from managers, advising on areas of overspend or incorrect use of resources, and developing Hestia's procurement system through policy updates, risk reviews, and audits. The position also involves liaising with new and established approved contractors to ensure the provision of competent, safe, and cost-effective goods and services, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.

The ideal candidate for this role is educated to degree level or equivalent and has at least three years' experience in contracts management within a multi-site environment. The Deputy Service Manager supports the Service Manager in effectively managing all operational matters within their designated services, including line management of frontline staff.

The Deputy Service Manager shares responsibility for ensuring that a holistic and cohesive approach to customer support is embedded across accommodation services. Look Ahead operates trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches, ensuring customers benefit from strengths-based support practices. About Sebby’s Corner

Sebby’s Corner is a Barnet-based charity supporting vulnerable families and children living in poverty across London and the South East. We support thousands of families every year with clothing, nappies, formula, school uniforms, birthday gifts and more. In 2024–25, we supported almost 4,000 children and over 2,300 parents, distributing £482,993 worth of essentials.

Sebby’s Corner serves families in crisis, many of whom are experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic abuse, seeking asylum, or living in poverty. Referrals are made by frontline professionals including social workers, midwives, health visitors, and family support workers so we can ensure we are reaching the most vulnerable.

About the Role

We are looking for a confident and strategic fundraiser with proven experience in major donor and corporate fundraising. You will lead our income generation, helping us to raise over £400,000 every year, with a focus on building high-value, long-term partnerships with individuals and companies. You will also oversee community fundraising, events and supporter engagement, ensuring every donor feels valued and connected to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

MAJOR DONORS

• Take the lead in cultivating, stewarding, and retaining high-value individual donors, ensuring they feel personally connected to Sebby’s Corner and the impact of their support.

• Grow and manage our Patronage Programme, developing tailored stewardship plans and recognition opportunities for different giving levels.

• Work closely with the CEO and trustees to leverage their networks and open doors to new prospects, building a strong pipeline of high-value supporters.

• Host and attend events, briefings, and meetings with donors to deepen relationships and encourage long-term commitment.

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS

• Lead on Sebby’s Corner’s own fundraising events, working with staff, volunteers, and suppliers to deliver high-quality and financially successful events.

What We Offer

Salary & Pension 

The salary range for this role is £42,000 - £48,000 FTE per annum (gross), dependent on experience and pro-rated if you work part-time. If eligible to join the pension scheme, we will match your contributions by 5%.

Annual Leave

You will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time roles). We usually close between Christmas and New Year without this time coming off your annual leave allowance.

About the Role

As a Recruitment Manager, you’ll drive our process for finding and selecting the founders of the new organizations we launch. This is a highly impactful role, for two key reasons:

1. The number of organizations we launch is currently limited by the number of exceptional founders we can find. Your ability to find and select an additional outstanding founder will likely result in an additional incredible organisation launching. For every Lucia Coulter & Jack Rafferty we find, we can launch another organisation like LEEP, preventing more than 44 million children suffering lead poisoning.

2. The biggest predictor of charity success we have is the strength of the co-founding team. If you can refine our recruitment process to reliably attract and select higher-potential founders, the organizations we launch will help more humans and animals at scale.

Our Recruitment team operates across two distinct, though overlapping, areas of work:

• Outreach - attracting high-potential entrepreneurs to apply

• Vetting - selecting the very best founders out of the applicant pool

We operate as a tight-knit team of four who work flexibly across the two domains. We anticipate a new hire doing both Outreach and Vetting work, with some possibility to specialise more in one direction or the other based on experience and preference. 

At AIM, we prize the ability of staff to work with speed, autonomy, and flexibility. We don’t expect you to have prior experience in recruitment. We do expect you to be a fast learner and excited about taking on whatever work is most essential on a given day. 

More concretely, you’ll split your time between the following:

• Outreach: Designing and executing campaigns to reach promising applicants; writing newsletters, social media posts, and outreach copy; attending conferences and events; and working closely with our communications team to build partnerships and grow our applicant pipeline.

• Vetting: Running multi-stage application processes, reviewing written applications and test tasks, conducting interviews, and refining our selection methods.

The role could be more junior or more senior, depending on the successful candidate: A more experienced hire will take more of a lead on designing the strategy they will execute, while a more junior hire will focus more on contributing to and learning strategic planning for the tasks they will execute at first.

Executing Marketing & Communications Activities [40%]

• Designing and implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, traditional, and in-person channels (such as our website, newsletter, LinkedIn, job boards, and conferences)

• Identifying and persuading top talent to apply for our programs through one-to-one engagement, such as through LinkedIn, email, and online calls 

• Soliciting and collating referrals for potential top applicants to our programs, especially from members of our community and affiliated organisations

• Writing blog posts, newsletters, articles, and other copy in a clear, accurate, and convincing tone

• Attending conferences and other professional events to represent AIM, conducting talks, workshops, and 1-on-1 meetings

Reporting to: Service Manager – Night Shelters 

Shifts available:  5:00pm to 10:00pm 

Job Purpose

As a Night Shelter Manager, you’ll be the lead staff member for your shift, overseeing the safe and smooth running of one of Glass Door’s seasonal night shelters between November and April. 

You’ll work alongside Overnight Homeless Shelter Workers and volunteers on your shift to make sure the shelter is a welcoming, safe, and respectful place for up to 35 guests. Your role is to set the tone for the night: briefing the team before opening, welcoming and inducting new guests, explaining our shelter guidelines, and ensuring everyone knows their responsibilities. You’ll be the first point of contact for any issues during your shift, whether that’s supporting someone in distress, addressing concerns or responding to challenging behaviour. 

You’ll also ensure shelter procedures are followed, keep accurate records of attendance and incidents, and maintain clear communication with the casework team so they can follow up with guests. Alongside leading operations, you’ll actively work with guests, volunteers, and colleagues to create a friendly and supportive environment where everyone is treated with dignity. 

This role is ideal for someone who can remain calm under pressure, lead a small team confidently, and is committed to supporting people as they work towards ending their homelessness; all while making sure the night shelter runs smoothly from start to finish. 

Job Description 

As the lead staff member for your shift, you’ll be responsible for the smooth and safe running of the shelter during your working hours. You’ll work closely with Overnight Homeless Shelter Workers and volunteers, setting the tone for the night and making sure everything runs to plan. 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

• Leading the shift – Oversee the running of the shelter during your shift, making sure guests, staff, and volunteers are safe and supported. 

• Briefing the team – Hold a short briefing before opening to make sure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities for the night. 

• Welcoming guests – Greet guests warmly, induct new arrivals by explaining shelter guidelines and behaviour expectations, and answer any questions they have. 

• Supporting volunteers – Guide and support the volunteer team, working closely with Volunteer Coordinators to make sure their time is well organised and meaningful. 

• Monitoring wellbeing – Keep an eye on guest welfare throughout the shift, offering support when needed. 

• Responding to issues – Manage any situations that arise, from emotional distress to challenging behaviour or medical emergencies, and call emergency services if necessary. Training will be provided. 

• Overseeing safety and security – Take responsibility for the overall safety and security of the shelter during your shift, ensuring guests, staff, and volunteers are safe and supported at all times. 

• Following procedures – Help make sure the shelter’s policies and procedures are understood and put into practice during the shift. 

• Shift handover – Provide a clear handover at the end of your shift so the overnight team has all the information they need. 

• Shelter van – Drive the van from its parking location to the shelter at the start of the shift, keep it tidy, and carry out basic stock checks before departure, reporting any shortages for restocking. 

• Keeping accurate records – Record attendance, incidents, and observations using our iPad-based In-Form system so colleagues have up-to-date information. 

• Working with the casework team – Share relevant information about guests’ welfare and needs to support follow-up work. 

• Supporting practical needs – Assist the casework team with practical tasks related to guests’ day-to-day needs as requested. 

• Attending meetings and training – Join monthly shelter meetings and other training or team sessions as required. 

• Supervision meetings – Take part in regular supervision meetings with the Service Manager. 

• Pitching in where needed – From time to time, take on other reasonable tasks to help the shelter run smoothly. 

Person Specification

Essential: 

• A valid manual driving licence and be willing to drive the Glass Door van. 

• Experience working with people experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable groups. 

• A genuine commitment to providing a high standard of service and treating everyone with respect, kindness, and dignity. 

• The ability to lead a small team confidently, including during challenging or fast-changing situations, while keeping a calm and professional approach.
