About the role

Carers UK’s Income Generation and Communication team is responsible for the organisation’s income stream. You will carry out prospects research to support new business development, while building relationships through active client engagement. You will receive relevant training, guidance and coaching.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Events and Community Fundraiser who will deliver our programme of running and challenge events and develop our community fundraising programme. This is a hands-on role and you will be responsible for maximising participation in events and community fundraising activity, whilst providing excellent stewardship to our supporters.

You will be joining us at a really exciting time with our London Marathon team doubling in size and investment in our events marketing activity. About you

Ideally you will have experience of working in the charity sector or be able to demonstrate transferable skills. You will have a passion for fundraising and be an excellent and confident relationship manager with experience of two or more of the following: organising or supporting running or challenge events, marketing and/or promotion, building relationships and event administration. 

You should be able to organise yourself, prioritise varied workloads, plan effectively and work to tight deadlines, as well as possessing excellent communication and stewarding skills. You’ll have a working knowledge of social media and marketing tools such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Mailchimp. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who is comfortable representing the values and aims of the charity proactively in community spaces.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

Working within experienced and committed teams, the Behaviour Change Worker will deliver trauma responsive interventions including one to one support and group work to prevent harm.

Key Responsibilities 

• Complete specialist risk assessments according to service guidelines and Respect standards, alongside developing personalised safety and support plans for programme participants. 

• Deliver one to one specialist behaviour change interventions for people with vulnerabilities, complex or multiple needs and those who require additional support to access our services. 

• Co-facilitate short term and long-term group work, providing a Respect accredited DVPP programme. 

• Promote the service externally and ensure our interventions are accessible. 

• Provide proactive, trauma responsive and holistic support, with a focus on increasing victim safety and reducing the risk posed by a perpetrator. 

• Work within a multi-agency framework to effect change, manage risk and ensure safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children is paramount. 

• Offer professional consultancy, training and advice to other agencies on working with perpetrators. 

• To work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the safety of the victim is held central. 

• Represent the service user voice in a multi-agency context. 

• Attend Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) meetings as required. 

General

• Give information and support to service users regarding their other needs and refer them to other support services as required.

• Ensure our service is widely accessible – adapting practice as required to suit individuals.

• Support other agencies in the identification and referral of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking issues via promotion of service and institutional advocacy. 

• Ensure all referrals are clearly logged on our database and all case records are kept fully updated, according to FearFree policies and procedures. 

• Engage with case management supervision, reflective practice and clinical supervision as required, taking an active role in managing own wellbeing and supporting the wellbeing of your colleagues. 

• Support colleagues in all services across FearFree as required. 

• Support the sustainability of the organisation by participating in fundraising activities and sharing ideas and contacts for income generation. 

• To engage in and contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro-active approach, including cover for other team members’ holidays and sickness.

As the Adult Carers Activities Coordinator, you will directly deliver our leisure break activity and training programmes. Join SPEAR and help end homelessness across Richmond and Wandsworth. As a Rough Sleeping Outreach and Assessment Worker, you’ll play a vital role in our Street Outreach Service and the new 24-hour Assessment Centre. One night you could be out on the street engaging with people sleeping rough; the next day you might be welcoming someone to the centre, creating a support plan, and linking them to housing and health services.

What you’ll do

• Carry out late-night street outreach and day-time reception shifts as part of a rota.
• Build trusting relationships with people who are rough sleeping and help them move quickly into safe accommodation.
• Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support, including assessments, personalised action plans and follow-on help to sustain tenancies.

At Ambitious about Autism, we're currently looking for a Youth Engagement Officer – Autistic and OK to join our team on a 2 year fixed term contract.

The Youth Engagement Officer will play a central role in ensuring autistic young people are meaningfully involved in shaping and delivering the next phase of the Autistic and OK programme. You will support the co-design and development of new peer-led workshops for the schools toolkit and developing resources for a whole school approach, collaborating with colleagues in the Participation team and a diverse group of autistic young people.

You will coordinate the recruitment, induction and ongoing support of our autistic programme ambassadors ensuring that their contributions are valued, inclusive and impactful. The role will involve facilitating engagement sessions and workshops with autistic young people, enabling them to co-produce programme content and participate in media, advocacy and public engagement opportunities.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Considerable experience in youth work, participation, community engagement, or a related field.
• Experience of working directly with young people, particularly neurodivergent young people, and facilitating their meaningful involvement in projects, workshops or campaigns, including both in-person and online formats.
• Proven experience of co-design or co-production with young people, with a strong understanding of inclusive and accessible facilitation practices.
• Understanding of autism and the barriers that autistic young people may face in education and participation settings.

Purpose: 

To provide financial leadership and effective management of the Trusts financial operations including Finance system administration, AR, AP, Treasury and Fixed Assets. 

To ensure delivery of a proactive and professional customer focused service, ensuring finance deadlines, and legislative and statutory requirements are met. 

To work closely with the wider organisation, building strong internal relationships to ensure the effective management of financial resources. 

Location & Travel: 
Home based. 

The role of Financial Controller is a home-based role; however, you will be expected to attend one of our communities regularly. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

Oversee the month end process, working closely with all finance staff including leading on the month end timetable and ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner. 

Working closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners and assist with the preparation and consolidation of the monthly management accounts. 

Maintaining the Trust Staff Establishment Budget and support the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners during the annual budget cycle and ensure all budgets are agreed and implemented on the accounting system 

Manage the external audit and the yearend processes and complete statutory financial statements to draft stage in accordance with the Charities SORP including all working papers. 

Ensure efficient and effective financial control operates throughout the Trust, ensuring all regional and central financial activities comply with legislation, policies, procedures and the delegated authorities. 

Manage and administer the Trust bank accounts, credit cards, and cash flow 

Developing and maintaining a long-term rolling cash forecast to monitor and maximize cash levels to benefit the organisation. 

Undertake the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and inter-company accounts and ensure regular review of general ledger, bad debts fixed assets, debtors and creditors etc. 

Monthly administration of the Trusts investment portfolio and maintaining a close relationship with the charities investment advisers/managers to ensure sound management and compliance with the Investment Committees agreed policy. 

Management & Oversight of the Trusts fixed asset register. 

Management and oversight of the Trusts Restricted and Designated Funds. 

Vat Compliance including the preparation of quarterly VAT Returns for submission to the HMRC, implementing recommendations from VAT Reviews and ensuring the Trust systems and processes are compliant with HMRC VAT Rules. 

To provide critical oversight and administration of the Trust wide insurance arrangements 

Responsible for the maintenance, optimisation, and support of the organization’s financial systems and software. To ensure financial data integrity, system efficiency, and the successful implementation of new tools and processes to support finance operations. 

Complete statutory returns for Charities Commission & Companies House. 

Actively oversee the management of the Trust payroll function (including pensions) ensuring compliance with legislation and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of employee pay and third-party payments. 

Manage and develop the Finance Team members to enable them to fulfil their roles to their full potential, ensuring that they and the department operate within with the Trust Strategic Plan and operational priorities 

Being the systems administrator for finance, providing training to finance colleagues and non-finance colleagues, including budget holders as required within their induction. 

Advising and assisting the Head of Finance with the development of key financial operational policies that reflect organisational values and comply with best practice and legal requirements. 

Alongside the Head of Finance continually review the finance system and processes and explore process and system improvement. 

Acting as project manager for specified projects at the direction of the Head of Finance. 

Oversight of all operational leases in place at the Trust. 

Provide data for the monthly reporting of financial KPIs relevant to the area of finance. 

Be the finance system lead, working with colleagues from IT to manage licensing, report development and provide systems training.

Person Specification:

Essential: 

Professional Accounting qualification ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or Part Qualified (Final year).

Knowledge of payroll practice and a full understanding of HMRC requirements. 

Experience implementing & internal controls & accounting processes. 

Experience of Treasury management including cashflow forecasting & monitoring. 

 Experience of preparing VAT returns. 

Experience of preparing statutory accounts and working papers and proven success working with auditors and managing the audit process. 

 Able to demonstrate a proven track record in all aspects of accounts e.g. preparation management accounts, budgets, balance. sheet reconciliation and forecasts. 

Desirable: 

Degree in Finance and Accounting. 

Previous experience in an accounting role in the Charity or Housing Sectors. 

Experience of working with investment advisors/managers and an understanding of portfolio management. 

Experience of working with Iplicit. 

Understanding and Experience of preparing Vat returns using Partial VAT methodology.
