Change for Good Community Chaplaincy is looking for an experienced and committed Executive Director to lead our charity through an exciting stage of growth.

Founded in 2012, Change for Good began as a mentoring project in HMP Wandsworth and has grown into an established resettlement charity working across London. We support people before and after release through in-prison support, "through the gate" work, volunteer mentoring, and our peer support group, Next Chapter. Mentoring, advocacy, and peer support sit at the heart of everything we do.

About you

CHOICE IN HACKNEY is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Coordinator to develop and coordinate our volunteering programme and support a diverse team of volunteers across the organisation.

You will recruit, induct, train, place and supervise volunteers, including gardeners, befrienders and administrative assistants. You will also support disabled people who want to volunteer, helping them develop their confidence, skills and employment prospects through meaningful volunteering opportunities.

A key part of the role will be matching volunteers with disabled people living in the community. You will assess individual needs, skills, interests, experience and availability to create appropriate and rewarding placements. You will maintain regular contact with volunteers and service users, review placement arrangements, support individual care plans and resolve any issues that arise.

The role also involves maintaining accurate records, gathering feedback, producing reports and working with managers to identify new volunteering opportunities. You will recruit and support a Volunteer Fundraiser and help develop community fundraising initiatives.

We are looking for someone with experience of recruiting and supervising volunteers or staff, supporting disabled people who may be at risk, organising services or projects, administration and partnership working. Bowel Research UK are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Events Officer to lead the delivery and growth of their challenge events programme.

This brand-new role to the charity will focus on recruiting, supporting and stewarding participants across a range of fundraising events, with responsibility for the charity's London Marathon programme and third-party challenge event portfolio.

The postholder will play a key role in growing participation and income from challenge events, ensuring supporters receive an exceptional experience from registration through to completion. Working closely as part of the fundraising team, the Events Officer will identify opportunities to expand the charity's events programme and maximise fundraising potential.

Key to the success of this role is a strong understanding challenge events and specifically,  London Marathon.This role is all about ensuring participants in the charity’s events have an excellent experience, are supported to deliver their fundraising ambition and return to support Bowel Research UK in the future, as such enthusiasm for providing great stewardship, and confidence in managing relationships with fundraisers and event partners alike is crucial.

The successful candidate for this role will be someone who has worked with London Marathon or large scale third party event participants before.

About the Role

This is a key role at the heart of The Loss Foundation's support services. A central part of the role is building strong relationships with our extraordinary community of volunteers, ensuring they feel connected to the charity, well supported and equipped to deliver high-quality support. Alongside this, you'll coordinate our programme of bereavement support events and ensure the systems and processes behind our services run smoothly. This is not a clinical or direct bereavement-support role - our support groups and services are delivered by trained volunteers. Instead, you'll enable that support by coordinating our services and providing an excellent experience for the volunteers who deliver them.

We're entering an exciting period of growth. Over the next few years we're expanding our national support services, growing our volunteer community and investing in new ways to reach more bereaved people than ever before. This role will play an important part in making that happen.

Although the role doesn't include formal line management, you'll have real ownership of your area and the opportunity to shape how our services develop. This role would suit someone who enjoys creating structure, building relationships and making a meaningful difference as part of a small, ambitious team.

In your first 3 months you will...

Volunteer Coordination & Experience

● Ensure event information is accurate across our systems and website.
 

Process & Systems Improvement

As we grow, you'll help build the operational systems that enable us to support more bereaved people efficiently and consistently.

Quality and Service Development

You'll help us continually strengthen our services through feedback and learning.

The Volunteer Co-ordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training and supervision of Volunteers who provide 1-1 support to parents / carers of children aged 0-5 years, sometimes providing direct support themselves.

Main Responsibilities

· Work co-operatively with other team members to recruit and train volunteers and maintain a satisfactory level of available volunteers to meet demand.

· Manage a case load of families who are referred to the Scheme, matching them with appropriate volunteers and overseeing this support.

· Work with partners to review and design the volunteer training courses so that they include specialist models as identified by client need.

· Ensure essential records and checks for volunteers are accurate and up to date.

· Match appropriate volunteers with families and introduce them / monitor support.

· Provide support and supervision to volunteers that are working with families on your caseload.

· Provide regular bulletins / newsletters to volunteers and potential volunteers to retain enthusiasm and motivation.

· Develop and facilitate Volunteer social events and support meetings.

· Maintain accurate records of the support provided for families on our database system.

· Support parent to enrich their living environments by applying for grants for white goods or furniture when needed.

· To refer to and / or work in partnership with other agencies and service providers as and when required.

· To model age appropriate play activities to parents/carers and offer a range of strategies and activities to manage behaviour and assist child development.

· Signpost families to parenting groups that can support them such as the Solihull course or Incredible Years.

· Signpost parents / carers to relevant services to ensure they have the necessary provisions to meet their child/ren’s needs.

· Maintain and improve competencies through continuous professional development.

· To attend regular supervision meetings and annual appraisal.

· Work co-operatively with Management to support the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.

· To contribute to the effective day to day operation of Home-Start Medway in accordance with governing documents, standards and methods of practice, Home –Start agreement and Quality Assurance standards.

· To keep efficient, accurate and confidential records, including statistics collection and collation. This would include the use of evaluation tools to enable us to evidence the impact of our work.

· To work within all Home-Start’s policies and procedures including: Confidentiality, Safeguarding Children Policies and Procedures and Health and Safety Policies.

· Be flexible and carry our other associated duties as may arise, develop, or be assigned in line with the broad remit of the position.

· To work within the ethos of Home-Start and have high standards of practice. The need to respect confidentiality is paramount, as is a mature and flexible approach to the work.
