SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through SANEline, our Call Back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies through its Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE research.

About the Role

We are looking for people interested in providing compassionate support to people affected by mental health problems. This includes supporting people with severe mental illness, and carers, families and friends. You will provide support by telephone, email and text, as well as supporting our skilled volunteers through their development and weekly shifts.

This role also provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people.

About the Role

The Cybersecurity Officer will support the Cybersecurity Manager in protecting the charity’s digital assets and ensuring compliance with internal security policies and relevant international standards. This role will assist in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining cybersecurity controls across our technology environment, and is ideal for someone early in their cybersecurity career with a strong willingness to learn and contribute to meaningful humanitarian work.

About You

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

endpoint protection, firewalls, secure email gateways, MFA, etc.).
• Monitor security alerts and reports from tools like Microsoft Defender, Bitdefender, 
WatchGuard, and Cloudflare, escalating potential incidents to the Cybersecurity 
Manager.
• Support user access management and ensure policies for identity and access control 
are followed using systems like SSO and Intune.
• Help manage and track security awareness initiatives (e.g., phishing simulations via 
SoSafe).
• Assist in vulnerability scanning and basic risk assessments across networks and 
systems.
• Contribute to incident response efforts under the guidance of the Cybersecurity 
Manager.
• Document findings, maintain logs, and support audit and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with IT and wider organisation to ensure security controls do not hinder 
mission delivery.

Key Activities

      Donation Processing

• Responsible for the timely recording and processing of all incoming donations (including via our website, bank account, third party platforms and cheques) into the Medair UK CRM (Salesforce).
• Ensure all donors receive gift acknowledgements / thank you letters corresponding to each gift received.
• Maintain up-to-date records of donors, staff and other contacts in the Medair UK database.
• Process and record completed Gift Aid declarations and support in the regular reclaim of Gift Aid.

      Financial Administration

• Inputting of all financial data (income and expenditure) into Quick Books.

Youth Participation Officer

Fitzrovia Youth in Action is looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic person for our Youth Participation Officer role. If you feel like this is you, we would love to hear from you!

The post holder will manage and develop youth-led community projects in which young people develop their leadership and employability skills through becoming actively involved in their community and participating in self-directed community action. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of several youth-led community projects, primarily the organisation of youth-led community events, but might also include elements of other youth-led activities, such as youth action team, health champions and ambassadors. 

For example, typically, this would involve working with groups of around 10 young people in each cohort and support them to deliver their community event project over a 12-week period.  Examples of events include youth-led football tournaments, street parties and our community Christmas dinner. This post will be part of the delivery team overseeing self-directed community action projects. The post holder may also support drop-in sessions and other activities aimed at engaging young people and referring them onto the youth-led community action programme.

About The Role

SAVE Britain’s Heritage is looking for a proactive and collaborative Heritage Engagement Manager to strengthen our support for communities campaigning to save historic buildings. 

You’ll take the lead in developing and managing SAVE’s public-facing resources — including the Buildings at Risk Register, ACT NOW! Toolkit and Building of the Month — ensuring they are accessible, impactful and widely used. A key part of the role is working directly with community campaigners, volunteers and students, providing advice and support to help them run effective campaigns, and sharing success stories across SAVE’s networks. 

Working closely with our small team — and alongside our Casework Officer — you’ll help ensure SAVE’s campaigning tools are closely aligned with our strategic aims, from audience development and sector leadership to new partnership opportunities. You’ll also coordinate the annual launch of the Buildings at Risk list, deliver regional engagement activities, and build partnerships with universities and professional networks to foster collaborative initiatives.

We're looking for an efficient, friendly Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our award-winning charity.  The team is based at our busy community centre from where it offers a range of services from community meals, art classes to gardening services and digital support.  We support older and disabled people living in Fulham, London.  Much of our work is delivered by volunteers, so this post is critical to our service delivery. You will recruit, induct, and coordinate volunteers; including leading our Good Neighbours Scheme and Befriending Scheme and supporting the recruitment for all other projects. 

About you: You will have experience of volunteering and in coordinating volunteers or staff, and have strong organisational and communication skills. You will be pro-active and diligent and able to solve problems as they arise. You will be a 'first point of contact' for people getting in touch with FGN, and so you will have a welcoming, and compassionate demeanour and be able to represent FGN at events (partnership meetings, volunteer recruitment drives, fairs, etc).  You will enjoy working with older people and those with disabilities.

MDXSU is a powerful student-led charity committed to ensuring that Middlesex University students have the best possible university experience. We're now entering a new phase, collaborating with Middlesex University and sister unions to champion a new era of modern students’ unionism and strengthen the broader student movement. We are seeking a new CEO to lead this charge, advocating for student leadership, innovating our practices, supporting our staff, and continuing our strong partnership with the university.
 

About the Role
As the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and ensure effective governance for MDXSU. You will empower and support our elected student officers and build strong relationships across the Middlesex community and beyond. You will also be responsible for the union's financial performance, legal compliance, and reputation.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding and belief in student leadership and social justice, along with a proven track record of developing and delivering high-quality organisational strategies.

The ideal candidate will have significant management experience at a senior level within a students' union or similar organisation, with a strong track record of developing and delivering organisational strategies. You should also be committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment by actively breaking down barriers to engagement for different communities.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Significant senior-level management experience with strategic responsibility across multiple functions
• Demonstrable experience embedding student or member voice throughout an organisation's strategic planning and operations
• Experience in sound operational management, including effective financial control and oversight of HR

About the Role

SERT’s ambition is to reach as many people as possible in the South East, to teach and show them the importance of rivers in the environment, and how everyone can play a part in restoring them. We also want to be more reflective of the diverse communities who live in the South East, and build partnerships within these communities to reach a broader audience.

This role will lead the development and delivery of volunteering and community outreach activities that connect people with their local rivers. Activities will include practical volunteering such as river clean-ups, planting days, and invasive species control, as well as citizen science, guided walks, and community workshops.

For this role we are looking for someone who is:

• A self starter who is able to research, approach and secure funds for developing your programme of delivery.
• Enjoys and has a demonstrable experience writing, organising and managing a programme for volunteers and communities.

• A people person, who is able to plan, organise and multi task. You can think on your feet whilst being adaptable to varying situations, always remaining calm.
• Deeply passion and understanding of our natural environment and enjoy outdoor activities.

We’re looking for a proactive individual who is passionate about volunteering to join our team. Our Volunteer Coordinators are responsible for co-ordinating volunteer recruitments, providing volunteer management advice and guidance to staff who work with volunteers, and establishing positive relationships with volunteers to ensure they have a fulfilling volunteer experience at Battersea.

As well as administration and support, this role also has the opportunity to work on projects to improve our volunteer programme at Battersea.

This role will work directly with cattery volunteers at Battersea London. We work on a hybrid working rota of 3 days in the office, and 2 days from home per week. There may be the need to work on a weekend day on occasion.

WHAT IS OUR SECOND HOME

We are a youth movement that empowers people with refugee backgrounds to build community, become leaders, and flourish into adulthood in the place that they call home.

We are looking for a highly engaging Leadership & Volunteering Manager to lead and grow our leadership training programming, and to lead on the recruitment, development and retention of our pool of volunteers. You will work across our various hubs to ensure all volunteers are well-supported, feel valued, and are making meaningful contributions to OSH’s mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership Training & Development

• Oversee and continue to codify OSH’s LIT (Leaders in Training) course, including in-person and online sessions, and mentoring LITs on their first residential. This will include hands-on delivery, managing logistics, and working with volunteers and facilitators.

• Co-design and develop other leadership programmes for young people.

• Support young people from refugee backgrounds to move from participants to leaders within OSH.

• Lead the delivery of training and induction for new and returning volunteers in hubs, at pre camp training days and leaders retreats. This includes safeguarding, group dynamics, facilitating groups, and OSH values, but will also include identifying gaps and trends in skills and experiences.

• Help shape the pedagogy and outcomes of OSH’s leadership programmes.

Volunteer Strategy & Recruitment

• Ensure there is an active pipeline of people signing up for the LIT course

• Design and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy to attract a diverse range of volunteers from within OSH and externally.

• Build partnerships with universities, youth networks, and professional communities to widen reach.

• Develop inclusive recruitment materials and accessible application processes.

Volunteer Engagement

• Develop progression pathways for volunteers.

• Ensure an active culture of feedback and reflection within leadership and volunteering.

• Track volunteer impact and progression.

• Coordinate check-ins, socials, and wellbeing support for volunteers.

• Work closely with the whole team to ensure volunteer experiences are safe, rewarding, and well-held.

Operations & Evaluation

• Maintain volunteer records and communications using Beacon (OSH’s CRM).

• Monitor data on volunteer recruitment, attendance, retention, progression, and impact.

• Contribute to fundraising work, for example by ensuring there is a regular supply of case studies for OSH programmes.

• Collaborate with colleagues to share impact and improve practice.

Other duties

• Getting involved in OSH events in the evenings and at weekends, including residentials. These are overnight trips from 2 to 5 nights

• Other duties as may be required from time to time

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

• Excellent facilitation, training, and communication skills.

• Strong experience managing volunteer programmes and/or leadership development.

• Experience designing leadership training or curriculum.

• Understanding of and training in safeguarding in youth settings.

• A deep understanding of inclusive, trauma-informed, and youth-centered approaches.

• Experience supporting young people from marginalised backgrounds, ideally those with lived experience of the asylum system.

• Experience volunteering or working in residential programming.

• Ability to build relationships across diverse groups and inspire trust and commitment.

• Organised and systems-minded, with good project management skills.

• Confident using digital tools (e.g. Google Workspace, CRMs)

• Passion for OSH’s mission and commitment to centering people with refugee backgrounds.

• Ability to speak in other languages relevant to our community, including Arabic, Pashto, Farsi, Tigrinya, Amharic, and Oromo.

On use of AI

We appreciate many use AI tools in applications, but encourage personal insight and genuine motivation. We may also use AI tools to support application sifting, under human supervision. Final decisions are always made by people, not machines.
