Job Title: Floating Support Coordinator

Location: Luton (13min from walk from Luton Train station) No Step Free Access 

Salary: £24,500 

Shift Pattern: FTC/Full Time 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, shift patterns including 08:00 - 16:00, 09:00 - 17:00 and 10:00 - 18:00. You may be required to be flexible around these hours depending on service requirements. 

About the role

We're looking for a Floating Support Coordinator to join our team based in Luton. You will deliver community based support to the residents of Luton as part of our Luton Synergy Service -  an integrated support service with emphasis on prevention, early intervention and integration for people who are at risk of losing their independence. The service provides tailored support to clients aged 18+ over a maximum of two years, to improve their opportunity to live successfully in the community.  The ethos of the service is to enable, empower and encourage individuals to develop the skills and tools to manage their accommodation, tenancies and health & wellbeing.

Our work with clients takes place at locations to meet individual needs; within our Victoria House resource centre in Luton, at their homes, in other agencies’ premises or in public meeting places. We pride ourselves on providing accessible and flexible services to residents of Luton through partnership working and community engagement. You will work alongside various community and statutory services and you will inspire and motivate our participants to achieve their personal goals, build independence, and live independently within the community. You will provide tailored personalised support to help our participants to live more fulfilling lives, and to engage them with opportunities available within the community, to help them to develop their social skills and independent living skills. 

Key responsibilities:

• Support to source and secure accommodation – both privately and through housing associations or the council
• Support to sustain tenancies – including landlord liaison if there is risk of eviction, addressing poor quality accommodation, anti-social behaviour or neighbour disputes
• Support to improve health and wellbeing
• Advice and guidance on benefits, budgeting, utilities and debt
• Access to specialised support services for domestic violence, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health
• Support for carers and those in an unofficial carer role

We support homeless people or those at risk of homelessness, homeless families with housing related support needs, individuals with drug and alcohol use, individuals with mental health needs, older people with a need for low level support, those that are in fear of violence, those at risk of offending or have an offending history, victims of domestic abuse, individuals with mild learning difficulties and individuals with mild physical disabilities/sensory impairment.

Job Title: Domestic Abuse Trainer

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Domestic Abuse Trainer and Assessor on a part time, fixed term contract until May 2026. 

Refuge has recently been granted funding from the Ministry of Justice to develop training for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs). This role has been created as a fixed term post to support that project. This is a strategic project and the overall aim of the MoJ is to increase access to training for IDVA professionals.

As the Domestic Abuse Trainer, the post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a high quality, accredited training programme, including workshops, assessments, and digital resources for professionals in the domestic abuse sector.

This role will work in partnership with our Service Delivery subject matter experts and our People & Organisational Development team to develop and deliver domestic abuse training for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates and other front-line specialists. You will also be leading on assessments for delegates attending the training which should demonstrate competence through on the job training.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in training delivery or education in the domestic abuse sector. They should also have an understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and the barriers many women face in seeking support.

This role involves working within a multidisciplinary NHS team to support adults with moderate to severe mental illness by holding a caseload of service users and serving as their key contact throughout care planning, progress monitoring, and discharge, using the RiO system. The post-holder collaborates with individuals to develop person-centred recovery plans focused on social goals and community integration, building therapeutic relationships through trauma-informed, strength-based approaches. They support access to local resources, appointments, wellbeing activities, and peer or psychoeducational groups, while promoting recovery-focused, jargon-free communication and advocating for co-production and integrated care. Liaising with statutory and voluntary organisations ensures smooth service navigation and warm handovers, while active participation in clinical meetings and community events helps represent both Hestia and the Community Mental Health Team. The role also requires accurate documentation of all support activity, adherence to safeguarding and health and safety procedures, and engagement in supervision, training, and continuous professional development.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 4 in Care or possess at least two years' experience working in a mental health setting, with a strong understanding of mental health issues, recovery principles, and co-production. They will have a solid grasp of care planning, risk assessment, recovery tools, and relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act. The role requires excellent communication and relationship-building skills, alongside the ability to facilitate groups effectively. Candidates must be confident using IT systems, including electronic case management tools, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed practice is essential, as is resilience, adaptability, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries. We are looking for a strategic and proactive fundraiser to lead the launch and delivery of a capital campaign to refurbish our Grade II* listed Lecture Theatre at Burlington House - a flagship project to enhance accessibility, sustainability and the visitor experience at the heart of our historic home.

Alongside this, you will support income generation across a range of charitable programmes, including education, outreach and member engagement, helping to grow both restricted and unrestricted income and strengthen the Society’s long-term supporter base.

Overall responsibilities / requirements ...

What we’re looking for …

Essential

• Proven experience in a senior fundraising role, ideally within a charity, cultural or education focused setting.

• Experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies.

SHAK (South Hampstead and Kilburn Community Partnership) is a resident led charity based on the Alexandra and Ainsworth estate in the Kilburn Ward of Camden, London, dedicated to supporting residents and young people living in an area of high deprivation.

If successful you will be based at “The ARC Youth Club”, an estate based youth led centre with integrated music studio, kitchen, games and "chill-out" space. The ARC engages approximately 250 young people per year and plays a vital role in their welfare and development outside of school. In holidays we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people who may otherwise miss out. 

You will deliver a range of activities e.g. cooking, arts & crafts, sports, trips, music, events etc. You will also offer support and guidance for local young people and enable them to develop life long skills while designing and running their own projects, forums etc. In school holidays you will be required to work an expected 28 hrs a week as we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people

Our new Senior Social Media Officer (Professionals) will be responsible for managing the smooth day-to-day running of our dedicated social media channels for professionals.
