Campaign Against Antisemitism is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. Our volunteer-led charity is dedicated to exposing and countering antisemitism through education and zero-tolerance enforcement of the law.

We raise awareness through front-page media campaigns and major outreach events such as the March Against Antisemitism. Our litigation continues to set landmark precedents. THE ROLE

The full-time Communications and Research Manager reports to the Chief Communications Officer, working to help inform the public about antisemitism using a variety of media.

You will be joining our small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial staff team based at our office in central London.

The role brings a diverse set of responsibilities and an opportunity to work within a charitable organisation with a strong sense of purpose.

Responsibilities

• You will write and edit journalistic-quality articles about antisemitism, from crime to politics, including investigative pieces

• Compose posts for our numerous social media channels, where we have an unrivalled following

• Design mailouts for our subscribers, informing them of our latest work and how they can get involved

• Draft accessible content for videos and our podcast, working with our Creative team which will use your concepts and content to create final products for our online audience

• Cultivate media relationships and provide information and research to journalists in real-time

• Help conceive innovative campaigns to raise awareness of antisemitism and educate the public

• Submit complaints to media broadcasters, regulators and others when outlets fail to meet their editorial standards

• Correspond with members of the public who write in to us

• Work with our academic volunteers and pollsters to help explain the nature of antisemitism in Britain, trends and strategies for addressing it

• Support units across our organisation in the preparation of materials relevant to their areas of work that conform to our house style and brand

• Report to the Chief Communications Officer, supervise a Communications Officer and work with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers

About Global Health Partnerships

One billion people will never see a qualified health worker in their lives. For over thirty years, GHP has been working to change this, training health workers to build a world where everyone has access to affordable and quality healthcare. Staff from UK health institutions volunteer their time developing and carrying out health systems strengthening activities at their LMIC partner institution, be that training, curriculum development, leadership and governance, etc. 

UFUQ project overview:

The project is strategically designed to uplift the health conditions of the Syrian population. It addresses critical elements of health workforce management and medical education in Syria, aiming for a transformative impact on health outcomes in the region. 

Specialized Medical Education Enhancement: 

UFUQ aims to enable targeted specialties in Syria to play a pivotal role in advancing medical education and practice. This encompasses a comprehensive review, update, and rollout of curricula, teaching, and assessment materials in emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and anaesthesiology. The project focuses on strengthening capacities in medical education, clinical/CPD areas, English language proficiency, research skills, and fostering scientific collaboration and partnership among and between faculties, residents, and international peers.

Rooted in the UFUQ philosophy, this intervention believes that by strengthening the systems and capacities for specialized medical education, the quality and accessibility of specialist health services will be markedly improved. The UFUQ project envisions a transformative approach contributing to the broader goal of achieving universal health coverage and delivering better-quality care in Syria. 

Objective of the Position 

The Technical Manager Medical Education will provide technical expertise to ensure the project and partners are all working to a shared vision for Post Graduate Medical education and that all are delivering within appropriate technical requirements and standards.  The position will coordinate with stakeholders, supervise technical staff, and ensure the program aligns with the project log frame and best practices in health workforce development and medical education. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Ensure technical alignment of the UFUQ project with HRH strategies and medical education reforms in Syria. 

• Provide overarching technical leadership and guidance to ensure that all project’s Medical Education strengthening activities are aligned with international best practices in postgraduate medical education and health workforce development.

• Ensure technical coherence and alignment of project interventions with the log frame, theory of change, and objectives approved by the donor and Syrian partners. 

• Oversee the quality assurance of technical deliverables, including research, training curricula, and policy frameworks developed under the UFUQ project, and ensure their relevance, scientific validity, and GESI sensitivity. 

• Promote capacity-building efforts, and quality assure ToT programs for HRH actors at national and sub-national levels. 

• Lead the technical coordination and engagement with key stakeholders, including MoH, Syrian Board, academic institutions, professional associations, and international partners (e.g., RCOG, RCEM)., to strengthen technical collaborations within the UFUQ project and to ensure integration and complementarity across all project activities.

• Support the localisation of the Postgraduate Medical Education Diploma and other training efforts, guiding National partners (Center of Strategic Studies and Health training” and Syrian Board) teams in the adoption of the tools, standards, and accreditation systems. 

• Contribute to sustainability planning by supporting the development of Terms of Reference and standard operating procedures for the Specialties Technical Committees. 

• Represent the program in technical meetings with donors, MoH, and other HRH actors.

• Ensure that GESI is integrated across all tracks by supervising the GESI specialist, reviewing curricula and training plans, and leading the technical team in implementing inclusive strategies. 

• Promote mechanisms for feedback from women healthcare workers and residents, and ensure their needs are addressed in planning and implementation. 

• Support In-Country efforts for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) to align with UFUQ project indicators and outcomes.

• Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, or inconsistencies in project delivery and propose corrective actions in coordination with the Program Lead and donor if required. 

• Provide rapid-response technical input when issues arise in curriculum roll-out, clinical mentoring, or institutional engagement. 

• Lead the design and planning of new or amended technical activities.

Qualifications & Experience 

• Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in Medical Education preferably with experience in developing postgraduate medical education programmes. 

• Experience working in a senior position in NGO context (Syrian context is preferred). 

• Previous experience in stakeholder coordination, policy analysis, and capacity building. 

• Strong understanding of GESI-sensitive approaches in health workforce planning and governance. 

• Excellent representational, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic. 

• Organisational and administrative skills with sound IT skills (Word and Excel). 

• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. 

• Flexibility and adaptability to work independently in a small organisation and in a complex environment.

IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of special educational needs and disability (SEND) law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. LSESU is looking for a proactive and driven Facility Coordinator to oversee the daily supervision and operation of our sports facilities. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the spaces, from health and safety compliance to customer service excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to join the legal aid casework team at Asylum Aid. You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering the billing of our legal aid work (including controlled work, certificated work and inter partes bills), which is vital to ensure the financial sustainability of our work. Asylum Aid holds legal aid contracts in the immigration & asylum and public law categories.

For thirty-five years, Asylum Aid has been providing legal representation to some of the most vulnerable people seeking asylum. We have built an expert service, delivering vital and life-saving services in some of the most complex legal cases, with a particular speciality working with unaccompanied children, survivors of trafficking, torture or other forms of human cruelty, and stateless people. Our vision is that all those in need of protection from persecution and other forms of human cruelty in the UK can obtain it, and are treated fairly and with dignity.

Since August 2020, Asylum Aid has been part of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group. Asylum Aid operates as an independent charity, led by its own Executive Director within the group structure, and is ambitious about growing its impact and reach in the future to ensure protection from persecution for those who need it. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role would suit a person with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills and numeracy. The ideal candidate will have already embarked on or be looking to develop a career providing excellent legal aid billing support and coordination essential to the financial sustainability of legal aid practice, whether within the charity sector or private practice. You will have a strong commitment to the values of Asylum Aid and an understanding of the importance of sound legal aid billing practices to our continued ability to provide our expert service to our clients. Prior experience is not essential as full training will be given and peer support is available.

The focus of the role of billing coordinator is to ensure the efficient and robust delivery of costing and billing of legal aid files conducted under Legal Aid Agency (LAA) contract (Legal Help / Controlled Legal Representation and certificated work) as well as liaising with external costs lawyers to oversee the preparation of Inter Partes bills and negotiations with the paying party where we have obtained an order for our costs in judicial review proceedings.  This includes reconciliation of Legal Aid Agency payments received and made, and to provide essential coordination within the organisation to support lawyers in ensuring files are billed promptly and accurately, and costs are maximized. The billing coordinator will work with the Director of Legal Casework to develop and maintain an effective tracking system to ensure timely progression from case closure to billing.

This role will work closely with the Legal Team of Asylum Aid and the Finance team of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group. You will also have access to the London Legal Support Trust Centres of Excellence legal aid billing peer support group and peer-to-peer support.

As this is a new role, there will be clear targets set as to the additional legal aid income brought in as a result of the extra capacity it will bring and a review will be undertaken after 12 months as to whether it is having the desired impact on our legal aid income.

Job Summary 

Work as a team to support the Diocese of London in safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults in line with both UK legislation and House of Bishops Guidance. Job responsibilities 

Casework  

• Respond to concerns and allegations of harm, working with statutory agencies; and protection of those who work with children and vulnerable adults in line of the House of Bishops Guidance.

• Acting as a contact point for those in church and statutory agencies, provide advice on all safeguarding matters, ensuring the DST is operating in line with the law, government guidance and national practice guidance from the House of Bishops. Ensure that safeguarding procedures are carried out throughout the process, with appropriate liaison with statutory agencies.

• Ensure appropriate support for alleged victims and their families and respondents and their families, throughout an investigation and thereafter.

• Maintain practices standards in all case work, ensuring five key principles underpin all adult safeguarding work, human rights and have due regard to mental capacity and acting in the best interests of those in need of support. Supporting practice and policy development around case management safeguarding processes. 

• Work with individuals who come to our attention to ensure appropriate risk assessment and risk management plans to set boundaries within a church setting; for those who are convicted of an offence, or where there are continuing unresolved concerns regarding risks to others.

• Work with statutory agencies, including attending appropriate strategy meetings, case conferences as arranged by statutory agencies or requested by the Casework Manager or Head of Safeguarding.

• Ensure that referrals to the DBS for barring from work with children or vulnerable adults and reports to the Charities Commission are submitted in line with statutory guidance.

• Under the direction of the Safer Churches Programme Manager to undertake strategic safeguarding projects and improvement work including polices and projects in line with identified business needs and operational plans.
