Caring Friends is a partnership project between the Community Volunteering Team and The Unpaid Carers Team at Cardiff Council. This project is looking to recruit a team of volunteers who are passionate about providing friendship and support to Unpaid Carers across Cardiff.

OTR is seeking up to 5 volunteer Listening Support Workers to join our existing Listening Support team in various locations across Bath and North East Somerset.
· Keynsham - Mondays 3-7pm

Our Listening Support Service, for people age 10-25, provides confidential and independent information and support over a 20 minute 1-to-1 session, where Young People can talk about anything that they would like.
Young people tell us they appreciate the ease of access, confidentiality, and ability to talk about whatever they want to express without being judged. Sometimes having someone to talk to in a safe space that is free, independent, and confidential can make all the difference.
We also offer LGBTQ+ focused listening support.

Zambia Orphans Aid UK (ZOA-UK) is looking for part-time volunteers to support our Digital & Communications work by giving three hours a week. The ideal candidate/s will have a passion for all things digital and an interest in international development. We are seeking people who have good digital understanding, a flare for design and experience of creating social media content across a range of platforms.

Hope Against Suicide is a non-profit organisation committed to providing crucial listening, signposting, and advocacy support to anyone grappling with mental health issues. We aim to be a lifeline for those at risk of taking devastating actions. Our three key aims are to get the community talking again, improve mental health, and prevent suicide. We strive for a healthier, more compassionate community where hope can be found, and a reduction in deaths by suicide, one of the leading causes of death worldwide.
We are launching a new Listening Hub in Bristol’s busy shopping centre. This walk-in service will support individuals with mental health issues, their families, and local workers. It complements our Mental Health Responders, enhancing outreach and community support. To run this program, we are looking for a new team of dedicated volunteers that want to support the cause of suicide prevention and raising mental health awareness.
Key Responsibilities
In a Listening Hub setting, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer plays a crucial role in providing compassionate and professional support to individuals seeking assistance with mental health challenges. During your shifts, your tasks will be a combination of the following:
- Providing support to those facing mental health challenges
- Allowing any visitors to share their personal experiences and feel supported / listened to
- Lead conversations with an emphasis on active listening and empathy
- Creating and maintaining a welcoming, non-judgmental space for everyone
- Optional: Facilitating regular community sessions that provide a relaxed and open space for meeting new people and sharing personal experiences. These can be based on any activity (e.g. arts, cooking, sports).
- We are particularly looking for volunteers that can volunteer for a 5.5-hour long shift per week. However, if you are not able to commit to this amount of hours, we still encourage you to apply. But please note that, as a minimum, you will be expected to donate around 3.5 hours of your time either per week or fortnightly, and to attend a Mental Health First Aid and Suicide First Aid training. Your shifts will be arranged to fit around your other commitments.
- If you can commit to full-day shifts, your shifts will run from 10:30am - 4pm, or, alternatively, you can sign up for morning shifts from 10:30am - 2pm and afternoon shifts from 2:30pm - 6pm. We usually require volunteers to commit to specifics weekly or fortnightly slots, but if you have flexible work patterns or other commitments that make it impossible to do so, we can also offer the option to sign up for individual shifts.

Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly scaling Charity, supporting the delivery of all critical leadership activities. Working directly with the CEO, the EA to the CEO will provide crucial support to enable the CEO to deliver their core activities in driving the Charity forward. This role will involve core, regular tasks, as well as opportunities to get involved in a variety of projects and initiatives where possible.
Responsibilities
- Provide regular administrative support to the CEO of the Charity, including calendar management, filing, scheduling, internal engagement and other activities as required.
- Provide support to the broader network of Administrative staff and the Executive Leadership Team as required.
- Maintain financial records of the Charity by ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded into financial systems with the appropriate approvals and evidence in place.
- Distribute monthly financial reports to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees that are produced from financial systems.
- Collect and collate key data across all areas of the Charity to populate leadership KPI scorecards and distribute monthly KPI reports to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.
Skills
- Technically capable, with experience in using Microsoft Platforms and Xero (specific system experience desired but not required as training can be provided)
- Ability to be self-motivated and organised, as well as an ability to organise and support others
- Positive, can-do attitude to get involved with any activities required to support the CEO and the broader Charity
- Ability to learn quickly, and be adaptable to change as the Charity scales

The hiring process
Our hiring process typically has two stages
- Video or Written Application (when applicable)
- Interview with the Volunteering Coordinator for that role
Some roles will have extra stages but we’ll let you know as early as possible if so.
