The Role:

Kids in Museums is looking for people who are passionate about improving access to culture for children, young people and families to join our Board of Trustees.

As a Trustee, you can help shape our mission to change the museum and heritage sector to make it better for all children, young people and families, particularly those who currently have the least access. You’ll be joining a dedicated Board that brings a wide range of skills and experiences to the charity and have the chance to become involved with exciting Kids in Museums programmes such as the Family Friendly Museum Award and Takeover Day.

Our Trustees have the opportunity to

• Learn new transferable skills such as strategic planning and risk management. 
• Join new professional networks in the museum sector and beyond.
• Give something back by improving access to the museum and heritage sector.

All Trustees receive a free package of training and support to help them settle into their roles. All expenses are covered by Kids in Museums.

• An interest in Kids in Museums’ mission to improve access to museums and heritage for families, children and young people.
• An analytical approach to decision-making.
• An ability to communicate clearly and engage with a range of different stakeholders, staff and volunteers.
• A set of skills to enable them to handle challenging situations. This could include offering advice under time pressure if the charity was facing a reputational challenge. Alternatively, it could be providing support and advice on a staff disciplinary process.
• An ability to give feedback to staff, volunteers and other Trustees kindly and constructively.

• A willingness to participate in the charity’s income generation work. This could include representing Kids in Museums at networking events, making introductions to potential supporters or reviewing funding applications.

Share’s trustee team has responsibility for overseeing strategy and performance. Village Service Trust is a small volunteer-run charity supporting partner organisations in Tamil Nadu, south India. Since our founding in 1976 we have worked with a number of incredibly impactful partners mostly in Theni District. Our partners seek to improve livelihoods and social justice through rights-based programmes with rural women, Dalit children and tribal people. The role:

This is an unpaid role. Reasonable expenses can be claimed.

We are looking for up to three Trustees to join our small friendly charity board. Trustees volunteer their time to govern the charity in compliance with the law. Trustees ensure that our charity work is always being conducted for public benefit, our resources are managed responsibly, and that we are always holding ourselves accountable to our regulators, supporters and beneficiaries.

We are looking for two new trustees to join Solving Kids’ Cancer UK on its journey towards a future where no child dies of the childhood cancer neuroblastoma or suffers due to the treatment they receive. We are particularly looking for one new trustee with personal lived experience of neuroblastoma.

Solving Kids’ Cancer UK is a very special charity with a dedicated and passionate team of staff and trustees – we are proud of our parent-led ethos, which means that parents with lived experience of neuroblastoma work at every level of our charity to help ensure we remain focused on addressing the challenges faced by the people who need our support most.

At WTI, we prioritise upholding the rights of individuals with SEN, ensuring their autonomy, dignity, and inclusion in society.

Position Overview:

WTI is in the process of establishment and is actively seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to serve as founding trustees. Trustees play a pivotal role in steering the strategic direction, governance, and oversight of the organisation, particularly in the crucial phase of charity registration.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to guide WTI in achieving its mission and objectives.

Governance: Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as governing documents and policies, especially during the charity registration process.

Counterpoints Arts is a leading national organisation working at the intersection of arts, migration and social change. For 11 years, Counterpoints Arts has been at the vanguard of cultural commissioning and practice, supporting and producing the arts by and about migrants and refugees, ensuring that their contributions are recognized and welcomed within British arts, history and culture.

The range of Counterpoints Arts’ work has grown considerably since it was founded in 2012 and we are now seeking a new Treasurer with a strong financial background and the skills and experience that will complement those of existing Board members. Counterpoints Arts aims to attract and retain talented people from all backgrounds to its Board of Trustees. About the role

• Contributing updates alongside other Trustees and the Director at quarterly meetings
• Supporting the Director with review of monthly management accounts and presenting financial reports at each meeting

Our mission is to amplify the voices of girls, women, trans and non-binary people through music. We are looking for potential trustees who can support this work.

You will have oversight of the organisation’s work across a range of different areas, from finance to programming, health and safety to staff support, and fundraising to pay policy. We are looking for folk who will enjoy this variety, and who is willing to learn about the context in which small charities operate and respond proactively to what the charity needs. Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness (KCAH) has been working tirelessly to help people who are homeless, or are at risk of homelessness since 1983. We believe everyone deserves a safe home, however, with ever rising costs a fresh surge of people are reaching out for our help.

To join the KCAH Board of Trustees you should have a passion to help the homeless and the drive and desire to help lead KCAH forward. [This is an unpaid role]

We are especially looking for people with some of the following skills to volunteer as Trustees:

Experience in professional fundraising and/or knowledge of sources of funding and the ability to advise the Board on our strategy

Professional experience in a mental health setting such as in counselling/therapy to help our Board to support our staff and clients

Experience of property management

Experience of running a small/medium size business

Other skills that would be beneficial to the operation of our Board.

POST TITLE: Trustee (voluntary position)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Collective Board Responsibility

PURPOSE OF POST: To ensure the good governance of Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT)

HOURS: Evening Board Meetings of approximately 2 hours, 4 times per year with some additional commitments

SALARY: This is a voluntary role but reasonable expenses may be claimed

LOCATION: Meetings are normally held in SCT offices in Shoreditch (E1) or a

location near Liverpool Street Station (EC2)

Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity embedded in the local community, providing practical help, support and training to people affected by homelessness and addiction. We are passionate about the people and communities we support and embrace creative, innovative and inclusive ways of working that build on our collective strengths. We provide a Recovery Hub (including an abstinence-based residential recovery facility, an addictions counselling programme and a Training & Development Programme), supported houses, a Housing First service, community supports, charity shops and two social enterprises supporting people in recovery from addictions to rebuild their lives. Our integrative approach is based on the concept of ‘Recovery Capital’, a whole-person approach taking into account physical, cultural, social, human and spiritual factors and assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Ensure the good governance of SCT in accordance with best practice

o Ensure with the Board and CEO that the charity’s Vision and strategic direction are aligned and consistent with the Charitable Objects as well as its operating environments

o Participate in Board meetings 4 times a year

o Use personal expertise to provide advice, assistance and guidance to the CEO as appropriate in consultation with other Trustees, including meetings and discussions with the CEO between Board meetings on specific issues or projects and attending Board committees (e.g. quarterly Finance Committee and/or Service Forum, etc.)

o Support and assist with the promotion of the Charity and its services

o The role has no Executive function

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

o A proven track-record in one of the following:

- a professional field

- the management of a service, department and/or organisation

- Governance and/or advisory role with an organisation

- lived experience of an issue relevant to SCT’s service provision

Desirable:

o Board/Committee experience

o A specialism in any of the following areas:

- Drug and alcohol addiction

- PR/Media/Marketing

- Fundraising

- Legal/Finance

- Human Resources

- IT

- Quality management

- Management

- Property/Real Estate/Housing
