Connection Support has a range of services providing support to people at risk of homelessness or on the edge of needing social care. We work with people made vulnerable through debt, mental health issues, substance misuse, learning disability, and physical disabilities.

Volunteers play a key role in the provision of vital services to our clients.

Are you a reliable handyperson who can undertake, upkeep, and repair a range of tasks for our housing support clients?

• Do you have 1-2 hours a week to make basic home improvements to client’s accommodation?
• Are you a dab hand at DIY and want to put your handyperson skills to good use?

Key responsibilities

Your role will include carrying out basic household repairs and alterations such as:

• Gardening work

Skills required

No volunteering experience is required however the below skills are essential:

• Practical skills in DIY and/or gardening
• Good listening and communication skills
• Excellent people skills to enable you to work with a range of individuals with complex backgrounds

• Ability to build effective working relationships with clients in a non-patronising way

We have 250 local groups which play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS across the UK. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Barnsley and District group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. In this role you’ll be able to develop your leadership, management, communication, organisation and motivation skills. 

Time Commitment

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

Esaete Foundation

The organisation empowers young women to become economically independent do they can make informed decisions about their lives.

We offer menstrual health trainings in both schools and in community, we work with parents and local leaders to ensure that there is community awareness in regards to issues affect the girl child and women, we have started/opened up clubs in schools where students can get accurate information about their lives and these clubs also encourage students to stay in school. We encourage young girls to take up leadership positions right from lower class level, they can be prefects at school, local leaders for young women in their communities. Lots of training and community awareness programs.

Programme Manager

Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of ESAETE’s core programs across thematic areas including gender justice, SRHR, women’s empowerment, and digital inclusion.

Supervise and mentor program staff and volunteers, ensuring high-quality execution and alignment with ESAETE’s values and strategic goals.

Develop and manage program work plans, budgets, and reports in coordination with the executive team.

Monitor, evaluate, and document program results, learnings, and stories of change.

Engage community leaders, government actors, and partner organizations to strengthen local networks and advocacy efforts.

Represent ESAETE at relevant forums and contribute to organizational growth and visibility. Develop and design programs that align with Esaete Foundation's core program areas.

Join our amazing volunteer team to raise awareness of sight loss and RNIB services at local events. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to create a world without barriers. This face to face opportunity will see you providing information about RNIB services and activities to help people with sight loss live the lives they want, enabling them to hear about the support that is available, and how they can help others.

Key Responsibilities

1. Resource Mobilisation & Grant Writing: Identify and pursue funding opportunities from local, regional, and international donors (foundations, embassies, INGOs, private sector, etc.).

2. Lead proposal writing and development of high-quality grant applications in line with ESAETE’s mission and programming priorities.

3. Track and respond to calls for proposals, concept notes, and partnership opportunities.

4. Donor Engagement & Reporting

5. Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and partners.

6. Ensure timely and quality reporting, including donor communications, progress updates, and impact stories.

7. Organise donor visits and presentations to showcase our work and impact.

8. Strategic Partnerships Development: Initiate and maintain strategic partnerships with organisations, networks, and institutions aligned with our vision.

Represent ESAETE Foundation in relevant fundraising and partnership forums.

Join Our Board – Become a Trustee at Coventry Citizens Advice

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Coventry Citizens Advice is looking for new trustees to help guide our vital work supporting over 13,000 people each year.

This is a unique opportunity to use your skills to influence positive change, support strategic direction, and help shape services for those most in need.

No previous trustee experience required — just commitment, good judgement, and a desire to help others. We’re especially keen to hear from people with experience in HR, legal, fundraising or research & campaigns.

Getting the right support at the right time can make a world of difference.

In the challenging times following a terminal diagnosis or the death of a loved one, the Hospice has a range of support available. The Man Shed provides an alternative to formal support, enabling ‘Shedders’ to spend time with others in similar situations while engaging in a purposeful activity, learning new skills and enjoying friendship and support along the way. The primary aim of the Man Shed is to be a place to talk with others about anything and everything. Volunteers also help ‘Shedders’ to plan and safely work on their DIY projects, and make sure sessions run smoothly. 

We’re looking for Man Shed Session Leader Volunteers for all sessions but especially Mondays and Thursdays. This is a weekly commitment of 6 hours per week, you will commit to 2 sessions on 1 day per week. Sessions take place from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30-3.30pm, with some time required to set up and leave the workshop tidy afterwards.

You’ll enjoy helping and teaching other users, be comfortable supervising the safe use of equipment, and offer a listening ear to the attendees.

Full training and support will be provided. You must be able to attend equipment training day.

A Peer Mentor is a volunteer who has experienced similar challenges and experiences as the person they are supporting. Being a peer mentor is seen as a positive and secure way to progress towards education, work, or employment.

Volunteers who take on peer support roles can feel empowered, have a greater confidence and a more positive sense of identity.
