SUNSHINE is a new grassroots charity tackling loneliness in London. We’re building spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued—through coffee mornings, digital inclusion, fitness, and befriending programmes. But before anyone walks through our doors, they’ll meet us through a poster, a flyer, a social post.

We’re looking for a Graphic Designer to volunteer some time to help us craft the visual language of SUNSHINE: one that speaks of warmth, dignity, and human connection.

The role of Volunteer Clerk

The Clerk attends board meetings, provides effective administrative support to the Council, ensures the Council is properly constituted, and manages information and document control effectively in accordance with legal requirements. This is a flexible role which for the most part can fit around the existing commitments of a volunteer.

Job Description

SAPUK is looking for volunteers to assist with our support services, which run daily from 6am to 11pm. Volunteers will engage through our instant messaging support line, which operates via Meta and offers anonymous communication via our website. The service is managed through a free app, available for download on all smart devices.

Over the years, our dedicated team has supported countless individuals, helping them overcome feelings of distress and guiding them away from the darkness. As a volunteer, you’ll be part of a compassionate team, committed to providing life-changing support.

SAPUK offers regular training to help volunteers enhance their skills and gain invaluable experience. Volunteers will become part of a supportive, collaborative team that prioritizes mental health and the well-being of both those we serve and our volunteers.

Volunteer Requirements:

• A minimum of 6 hours per week (one shift, or split into two 3-hour shifts).
• Flexible shift options to fit your schedule, with shifts ranging from 6am to 11pm.
• We’re looking for individuals who can commit to at least one shift per week, though we’ll work to accommodate your availability.

• You must be based in the UK (no overseas applications accepted).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required.

• Successful candidates will be contacted to complete an application and confidentiality form and provide two references (one work-related, one educational or work-related).
• Following the submission of the forms and references, we’ll arrange a call to discuss the role, then provide you with a training video.
• Volunteers will be added to our WhatsApp groups, and you’ll begin shadowing more experienced team members before taking on your own chats.
• Shadowing typically requires 9-18 hours, depending on your confidence level.

We’re looking for admin volunteers to help with our daily operations.  We have a variety of ways you can get involved:

We’ve designed our volunteering programme to be flexible and adaptive to you.  All volunteering is 100% remote and you’re supported fully by our team.  You control what you do and how many hours per week you want to volunteer.  Some roles may require an Enhanced DBS check. If your application is successful, we will ask for a donation towards the cost of your enhanced DBS check if it's required for your role. This cost is £20.60.

About the Role

At Living Reasons, we want to change the face of fundraising and entertainment events. We’re not interested in repeating outdated models — instead, we want to create immersive, innovative, and accessible experiences that engage supporters in brand new ways.

The Events & Entertainments Lead will play a key role in making this vision a reality. You’ll oversee events and entertainment coordinators working on specific projects, ensuring events are well-planned, properly funded, safe, and accessible to all. At the same time, you’ll work with the wider team to design bold, creative, and inclusive experiences — from accessibility-led escape rooms to sensory events, to interactive challenges inspired by shows like The Traitors.

• Oversee and support Events & Entertainments Coordinators delivering specific projects.

Kimedes is a purpose-driven WaterTech startup tackling one of the world’s most pressing challenges: water scarcity. Through our AI-powered leak detection technology, we help municipalities and industries reduce water losses by up to 30%, supporting a more efficient and sustainable use of water resources.

We are currently in our market expansion phase across Spain and Catalonia, building partnerships with municipalities, water utilities, and industrial players. We welcome motivated volunteers and interns who want to contribute to sustainability, technology, and climate impact while gaining real-world experience in a dynamic startup environment.

Role Summary – Intelligence Research Volunteer

As an Intelligence Research Volunteer, you will support Kimedes in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing critical market insights. Your work will focus on tracking technologies, competitors, policy frameworks, and sector trends in the water management and climatetech space. These insights will directly inform Kimedes’ go-to-market strategy, fundraising narrative, and product positioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research on emerging technologies in leak detection, water management, and climatetech.
• Map and analyze competitors, startups, and incumbents in the European and global water sector.
• Track market trends, regulations, and funding opportunities relevant to water technology adoption.
• Prepare concise reports, briefs, and dashboards to share insights with the CEO and COO.
• Support strategic projects such as pitch decks, grant applications, and partnership proposals by contributing research-based insights.
• Monitor industry news, conferences, and innovation clusters to identify opportunities for Kimedes.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and research skills, with ability to process and synthesize information clearly.
• Familiarity with market research methods and business intelligence approaches.
• Interest in climatetech, water management, or smart infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup and deliver on agreed timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English (Spanish/Catalan a plus but not required).

No Panic is a national charity helping people to manage their anxiety.

We are looking for volunteers to join our Social Media Engagement Team.

We are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

The role of a Social Media Engager is to:

· Create and edit social media content about the support offered by No Panic.

· Create social media and podcast content with patrons, partners and other professionals.

· Amplify content published by other No Panic teams.

· Respond on behalf of No Panic to interactions with our social media.

You will need to provide a reference.

Expected amount of time spent doing this role is 3-4 hours a week, this will vary.

We ask you to commit to volunteer for a year.

Shout is the UK’s only free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope. When people text 'Shout' to 85258, they are connected to a Shout Volunteer for a text conversation. Our volunteers provide a safe space for people to share what's causing them distress, while showing warmth and compassion.

Tasks and Responsibilities

If your application is successful, you’ll be enrolled in a training group. New groups start every two weeks.

Shout Volunteers receive 25 hours of free training in communication, listening, managing and assessing risk, and problem solving. The training is self-paced and done online. You’ll learn how to bring people in distress to a place of calm and practice skills that will be useful to you throughout life.

As we are investing in you throughout your time with us, our hope is that you will complete the training in a timely manner and look at this as a longer term commitment. The experience you gain over time is valuable and our goal is to have volunteers commit to 200 hours on the platform, which can take up to two years to complete, as we ask you to take one 2-4 hour shift per week. 

Our Volunteer Training Support team is here to support you, answer any questions and provide feedback during training and throughout your time with Shout. You’ll be joining an incredibly supportive volunteer community and have access to the resources you need to do your role.

As a volunteer, you’ll be supporting people in distress, so it’s important we see the skills required to do that while you are in training. While most trainees complete the training and go on to volunteer, not everyone will pass the training. If this happens, there are other ways you can still support us.

Selection Criteria

A Shout Volunteer is kind and compassionate, a good listener, and has the ability to remain calm when supporting people in crisis. You will also:

• Understand the difference between being friendly and being a friend

• Be aware of your own mental health and wellbeing

• Be open-minded

• Be supportive

• Be reliable

• Be discreet and able to respect confidentiality at all times

• Be accepting and non-judgemental

• Be passionate about contributing some of your time to a cause such as Shout

• Adopt a growth mindset, and be willing to accept feedback

Requirements

• You must live in the United Kingdom or New Zealand while volunteering. 
• You must be over 18 years of age.
• You will need a reliable internet connection and a private place to take your shift.
• All of your volunteering must be done using a laptop or desktop computer and Google Chrome.

It’s worth spending time thinking about the nature of the role, and whether it’s right for you. We support all texters, regardless of race, religion, sexual identity or issue. You will need to be comfortable addressing topics frequently discussed with texters (suicide, self-harm, depression, etc.) without compromising your own mental health.

Volunteering can also be a great addition to your CV. You do not need to have any past experience in mental health to be a Shout Volunteer - we’ll provide you with all the training and support you need to do the role.

Application Process

You will need to create your account and fill in the application using a laptop or desktop computer and in a Google Chrome browser. This is a standard requirement for all of our systems at Shout, from the application through to the platform.

You should leave up to an hour to complete the form. As Shout is a text based service and we do not conduct in person interviews for our volunteer candidates what you write in your application and the strength of your references are how we get to know you. 

We appreciate when candidates take the time to write thoughtful, considered answers. We recommend you review your application with an eye toward things like spelling, grammar and punctuation. While some of our texters will occasionally reach out using more informal text speak, our volunteers respond in full sentences and double check their messages for accuracy before hitting send. 

Your application will be reviewed once we have received responses from both of your references. We ask for a personal reference and a professional reference. The personal reference can be a friend or colleague but the other must be someone who knows you professionally or has supervised you in some way. 

This could be a manager or supervisor from where you work or a teacher or educator from where you study. We recommend you choose references who are able to speak to your ability to fulfil the selection criteria outlined above.

We do not accept references from family members. This includes your partner or their relatives, your children, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents or godparents. 

Please allow up to a month for us to review your application and return a decision. 

If your application is approved, you can book your place on training. Training groups usually start every two weeks and spaces are available to book a couple of months ahead. While you are in training and before you are allowed on the platform we will carry out a background check.
