OUTLINE OF THE ROLE

Work with the Trustees to devise and lead new fundraising initiatives that fulfil the objectives of the Trust's Fundraising Strategy and annual income budget, with particular focus on regular giving across all alumni, gifts from high-net-worth individuals, and legacies. This will involve:

• Developing and delivering improved communications to build a stronger connected donor network.

• Locating, engaging and retaining alumni to support and promote the Trust, focused on ensuring their long-term impact on the Trust and its beneficiaries.

• Work with the Trustees/Trust Fundraising Committee to devise and implement new fundraising initiatives.

• Work with the Trustees/Trust Fundraising Committee to identify and engage new volunteers to support the Trust's activities.

KEY TASKS

Work with the Trustees and Fundraising Committee to devise and implement the following:

• Improve communications

The Trust has a strong, growing, and engaged network of loyal alumni who already support the Trust's beneficiaries through fundraising and volunteering. However, the Trust's communications need to be improved in order to increase the numbers of donors who provide sustained financial support and inspire all donors to raise their level of donations. Continually find opportunities to engage new donors and ensure clear consistent messaging.

• Manage and maintain donor data

The Trust needs to maintain a full and accurate database of all donors and fundraising activities to support long-term tracking and inform future fundraising. This also requires networking among alumni and being vigilant to changes in alumni data.

• Research and approach alumni whose connection with the Trust has lapsed

Continue to grow the active network through researching and motivating dormant and lapsed alumni to reconnect with the Trust.

• Research untapped prospects

Research the database with a view to identifying dormant and untapped opportunities, especially regarding

high-net-worth individuals and legacies. Ensure fundraising approaches are well-targeted and informed in order to maximise the chances of success. This will expand to include non-alumni sources, including institutional sources such as foundations and other trusts.

• Ensure long-term donor connection

Communicate with all donors to demonstrate the impact they can make by showcasing the current and long-term outcome of programs. Deliver a diverse selection of communications to engage different audiences, with a clear plan for all members of the network. Ensure donors are connected to the Trust, value the Trust's activities and actively help fund opportunities.

• Reporting to the Trustees

Create an annual donor impact report to the Trustees, and other stakeholders such as alumni, that delineates donor statistics, reviews communications and events that have taken place during the past year and identifies potential prospects and events for developing in the coming year. Also provide a lower-level oral report of fundraising activities and communications to the Trustees at their quarterly meetings.

• Deliver income growth target

Acquire enough new donations to meet agreed annual income growth targets set by the Trustees.

You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the charity and its overall objectives. For instance, organizing fund-raising specific events in different regions. This position could evolve into a full-time commitment with a support team, but at the present time, support to this role will be provided through the existing network of volunteers.

About the role

The Director of Membership Services provides strategic leadership for the Membership Services directorate and is therefore responsible for the development and implementation of all Imperial College Union strategy relating to Student Activities, Representation, Advice, Governance and Policy. The role ensure the delivery and resourcing of operating plans, policy and operating procedures to ensure that the Union delivers its strategic objectives across its Membership Services.

The successful candidate will ensure that the directorate develops and delivers impactful and inclusive services which champion and enhance the Student Experience at Imperial College. They will ensure that the Union values of integrity, inclusivity, and innovation guide the work of the directorate, and will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal, College and external stakeholders. We are looking for a Community Support Administrator to enhance our offer to people diagnosed with aplastic anaemia, and their friends and families . You’ll help our successful fundraising and support teams to do more.

Reporting to our Community Fundraising and Events Manager 

We are passionate about creating opportunities for our community to support us in ways that create joy in their own lives and help them feel empowered in the face of serious illness. Our fundraising activities are designed to help tackle the isolation and other difficulties that are faced by those living with a rare and serious condition. You’ll help us make sure that fundraising for The AAT is a life-affirming and joyful experience.

Our small team are fully remote across the country. You’ll be based on your own in our small office/post room in Birmingham with regular face-to-face meetings with your manager (who lives locally). You’ll keep in touch with the rest of the team via Microsoft Teams.

The first line of support 

As a small charity representing an ultra rare condition, the people we support and the people who support us through fundraising are often one and the same.

You’ll sit within the fundraising team, but your role spans the organisation, and you’ll also deliver essential administration support for our Support Team. 

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only charity who publish information about aplastic anaemia for patients and families. You will post booklets to patients and to hospitals, heading to the post office twice a week to fulfil orders. You’ll also support our volunteer moderators to administer the Patient Support Facebook Group. 

This is a varied and interesting role which gives you the opportunity to see your impact first-hand as you’ll be interacting directly with people whose lives are affected by aplastic anaemia. You will support our community with understanding and empathy. 

As a Community Support Administrator, you will...  

• Manage our online shop, fulfilling orders promptly. Track inventory and re-order items that are running low 

• Send thank you messages and cards to supporters 

• Update our CRM and keep up to date and accurate data on our community 

• Create and schedule social media posts and event listings on our website.

• Answer general emails, social media messages, and other communications and/or ensure they are answered by the right person from our team 

• Provide support and guidance to our volunteers including onboarding and supervision 

• Pitch in with occasional event admin and organising 

• Twice a year attend our Staff Conference for (2-3 weekdays with overnight stay) to work directly with the full team 

For example, a typical week could include: 

• Sending out patient information booklets to hospitals who order it via our website 

• Finding out the t-shirt sizes of everyone on our Great North Run team and posting t-shirts out to them 

• Producing a report from our CRM system, and sending an email to everyone on it to invite them to an event 

• Counting up all our Christmas cards and ordering more from a printers website 

• Creating a thoughtful, personal package for a child who is in hospital, and taking it to the post office. 

• Booking meeting rooms and hotel rooms for an upcoming Staff Conference

• You will understand the joy of beautiful post! You’ll package and send thoughtful, happy packages that put a smile on people's faces when they are having a tough time. 

• You are an independent worker! You’ll be in the office solo most of the time, so you need to be self-motivated, comfortable reaching out when you have questions, and happy in a quiet room (with a big window and leafy view!)

Aplastic anaemia is a rare and life-threatening condition caused by the bone marrow not functioning properly. 

In people with aplastic anaemia, the bone marrow fails to produce enough of all three types of blood cells – red, white and platelets. 

Aplastic anaemia treatment is very similar to the treatment someone might have for leukaemia - but because it's so rare, families often don't have access to the same information and support. 

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people affected by aplastic anaemia and funding research into this rare form of bone marrow failure. 

We fund research to improve treatment, provide expert information, and work tirelessly, at grassroots level, to support every aplastic anaemia patient and their loved ones.

We are looking for a Retail Operations Administration Assistant. The role is office based in our small and busy office situated above our Swindon warehouse.

As a Retail Operations Administration Assistant your role will primarily focus on supporting the return of the gift aid end of year statements. This role works within the parameters of HMRC legal requirements and therefore involves a high level of data accuracy. Duties will also consist of a range of administrative tasks to support the team, including product ordering, supplier relationships, SharePoint maintenance, Complaint & incident management, maintaining records, reporting and other ad-hoc duties to support commercial activities.

You will be responsible for:
- Managing and responding to donor communications.
- Record and respond to written returns.
- Manage and update gift aid donor database accurately and effectively.
- Maintaining records and systems in accordance with the requirements of the retail team, including SharePoint and Vantage, to ensure efficient management of information
- Building and maintaining relationships both with external and internal stakeholders.

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Service based in the Durham area.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke.

Position: S11233 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Durham. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Salary: £19,596 per annum (FTE £27,400 per annum)

Hours: Part-time, 25 hours per week

Contract: Permanent. However, services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:

• Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
