In this role you will progress qualified leads, complete enquiry calls and initial home visits. • Working collaboratively across relevant teams to progress enquiry management

The Fostering Recruitment Officer will be based within reasonable travelling distance of South Wales including Cardiff and surrounding areas as listed above and will be required to visits potential new foster carers, attend face-to-face team meetings at least monthly and on other occasions for training and team wellbeing events.

An Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role and will be processed by TACT on your behalf.

The Role;

• Provide a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs and rights of the young people. This will include supporting less experienced staff via positive and effective team working to achieve high quality standards of care that are set and agreed by the Registered Manager on behalf of the Trust. This work will aim to respect and promote the needs of each young person arising from their racial, cultural and religious background.
• Assist with the assessments of need and formulation of plans. This involves working in partnership with other agencies and taking into account the wishes and feelings of the young people, their parents and other persons with parental responsibility, in line with legislation pertaining to the young people.
• Maximise educational opportunities and achievements for the young people looked after within the unit by assisting in identifying, establishing and supporting educational provision and contributing to educational reviews.
• Develop and maintain a good level of awareness of child protection issues, assessing and recording risk. This will include referring child protection issues to the Registered Manager and incorporating consistent boundary setting into everyday practice in order to ensure effectiveness in the prevention and appropriate management of challenging behaviour.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of the work undertaken with the young people and complete written reports for planning meetings and statutory reviews as necessary. This will be in consultation with the line manager and be undertaken to a standard commensurate with the professional aims of the service.
• Undertake a range of domestic duties, including cooking and some cleaning, to a good standard, to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and the guidelines for young people and staff.
• Take responsibility for the promotion of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young persons for who they are responsible for.

About you;

• Good standard of written and oral English
• QCF(NVQ level 3) in health and social care (CCYP) or equivalent or willingness to achieve award within timescales set by trust
• Working in a residential setting, undertaking the full range of duties in a well planned way that respects and values the young people as individuals.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to write reports
• Working with young people and an understanding of the issues affecting them.

At Fear Free, we take pride in delivering exceptional services across the Southwest region, and we are excited to announce that we are launching a new team delivering sexual violence therapeutic support across Wiltshire and Swindon. Part of a diverse team of professionals supporting adult and child victims of sexual violence, you will play an integral role in providing one-to-one and group support for adult survivors. 

The Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) will work within a multi-agency system to provide a proactive, person-centred independent service for adult and children who are victims of sexual violence, empowering choice through informed decision making. Key elements of the role include: 

• Risk assessing and helping to keep service users safe (safety planning). 

• Working with primary and secondary schools within Wiltshire to provide support and guidance on how to support children affected by sexual violence or abuse 

• Providing informal education in assemblies and schools around consent and healthy relationships around Wiltshire

• Provision of 1-1  psychoeducational support sessions, with a focus on safety and stabilisation. 

• Enabling victims to access statutory and other services. 

This ISVA role requires the building of effective relationships with other agencies especially educational settings within Wiltshire that may support victims of sexual violence, developing referral pathways and creating outward facing information resources and campaigns to raise awareness and build confidence in reporting sexual violence. 

The ISVA will be required to work to the Quality Standards for services supporting victims/survivors of sexual violence. 

This fixed term role for 12 months will be based in our Trowbridge office, with expectation of paid travel across the area. Fear Free supports staff to work flexibly and we operate hybrid working (working both remotely and in the offices). 

Key Responsibilities 

• To provide a person centred, client focused, independent service, distinct from the role of a crisis worker or counsellor, primarily for the benefit of the victims of sexual abuse. 

• To work with family members and supporters of victims to provide information and support where appropriate and required. 

• To work within educational settings like primary and secondary schools in Wiltshire to ensure there is support for DSLs who support students who have been victims of sexual abuse. 

• To deliver educational sessions in school assemblies and classes around consent and healthy relationships. 

• To be point of contact for schools in Wiltshire for advice and guidance. 

• To work with victims who have chosen to report their abuse and those who have not and provide a victim led service to all service users, empowering choice through informed decision making. 

• To complete a support needs analysis, including risk assessments, in relation to support and counselling services and create an individualised safety plan for each client. 

• To provide specialist psychoeducational support, focusing on safety and stabilisation, to support victims to manage their experience of trauma. 

• To provide practical and emotional support to meet the needs of each individual service user to enable them to move forwards towards recovery. 

• To refer on to other support if required, including internally to our other therapeutic based supports. 

• To provide sensitive and non–judgmental support, enabling the service user to regain control and self-esteem. 

• Encourage/assist clients to develop their own support network. 

• To provide information to enable clients to make informed decisions in relation to the self-referral option, medical care, forensic examination, making a police report, mental health and sexual health and onward referrals.

• To promote the service to external agencies where applicable.

• To produce clear record keeping/documentation, in a timely manner according to Fear Free’ policies and procedures. 

• To assess, offer and gain consent from the client for any onward referrals. 

• To document clearly any safeguarding concerns, complete any relevant risk assessments and liaise with relevant safeguarding teams and attend MARAC, MASH and Children’s’ Services meetings if appropriate.

• Ensuring that the service user’s views, opinions, wishes and needs are understood, respected and listened to and held at the forefront of support, whilst fully complying with all safeguarding requirements. 

• Safeguard the health & welfare of service users and their families. 

• Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of services. 

• Utilise evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure high standards of service are consistently achieved. 

• Ensure support provided is accessible to clients in terms of location and times.

• To manage a case load – balancing new referrals, existing cases and closing cases. 

• To offer specialist advice to other professionals and agencies where required.

What the role involves

1. Ensuring that there are regular training opportunities for both new starters and those requiring refresher sessions or updates when new functions or forms are released. 6. Support the Data Reporting and System Support Lead with regards to user administration and user support at times of absence and increased need

7. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to support the creation of e-learning training modules for our LMS (currently RISE) Acting at all times in line with safeguarding legislation and guidance in addition to Safer London’s practice guidelines and wider pan-London processes and protocols.

8. Undertaking any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post, including covering the Data Reporting and CRS support lead post functions when relevant.

Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK) is the only charity in the world dedicated to women (and afab) with Fowler’s Syndrome or Chronic Idiopathic Urinary Retention; a life-changing and poorly understood bladder condition that causes full or partial urinary retention.

In this multi-faceted role, you will ensure that women affected by Fowler’s Syndrome, clinicians, researchers, and the wider public are intimately connected to the charity’s work.You will enable smoother pathways for women seeking support and for healthcare professionals looking to access educational resource, while also leading on a range of communications activities and awareness campaigns.

You will take responsibility for coordinating and facilitating online patient groups, supporting in-person events, and helping to manage FSUK’s Patient Council. Tasked with overseeing the development of content such as patient resources, you will also advance wider engagement across projects and research programmes and ensure that communications, whether via newsletters, social channels, or the website, reflect the charity’s voice and values.

While having strategic oversight and leading on the management of FSUK’s digital platforms, including their WordPress website and database consisting of patients and supporters, you will also maintain the charity’s fundraising pages. Through managing FSUK’s social platforms, you will at times also interact with the charity’s online community, responding with empathy as you engage and signpost to appropriate services such as the FSUK helpline, ensuring people feel heard, informed, and supported.

Lastly, raising awareness of FSUK will be one strand of the communications output, however the primary focus is to enable stronger connections and deepen engagement and trust with their valued community.

Emotional intelligence and well defined interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having proficient organisational ability and the aptitude to multi-task when working independently within this small, yet fast-moving team.

A background in patient, community, or stakeholder engagement will also be a valuable asset, alongside exposure to working within the health, charity, or research sector. You will have demonstrable experience producing content, alongside a track record of managing digital and social platforms (particularly Instagram).

Lived experience of Fowler’s Syndrome is not essential but would be a welcome bonus!

The PR & Media team raises awareness of who we are, what we do, and the impact Marie Curie has through local and national broadcast, print and online media. This team also looks after our work with high profile supporters and celebrity ambassadors. 

The National PR Lead is responsible for the successful delivery of Public Relations and Media strategies to support a designated portfolio of work. You will play a vital role in leading priority PR workstreams. Your expertise will ensure we use the most effective PR tactics to meet team and organisational goals. 

You will be responsible for:   

• Delivering PR and media strategies for specific portfolios, leading priority workstreams, and ensuring effective tactics to meet campaign and organisational goals.  

• Leading PR strategy development, execution, and evaluation to increase brand recognition and media reach; managing campaign objectives and sharing insights for continuous improvement. 

• Identifying, training, and briefing spokespeople including senior staff. 

• Managing reactive news and news desk functions to stay ahead of media agendas. 

• Maintaining strong media relationships, ensuring consistent key message delivery, and advising on reputational risks and issues. 

• Line management and team leadership for two National Media & PR Officers. 

Key Criteria: 

• Established experience in a similar PR position, managing a news desk or a press office.   

• Experience working in a large complex environment, ideally in the charity sector.  

• Excellent understanding of national consumer media (tv, printed, online, podcasts etc) 

• Line management experience and the ability to lead teams  

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders of all levels.  

• Ability to work unsociable hours.

The Association for Post-Natal Illness (APNI) is a national charity that provides information, support, and advice to women experiencing post-natal depression. We also support partners, friends, and family members.

We are seeking a Trainee Administrative Assistant to join our small and supportive team in Fulham.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the charity sector. In this role, you will:

• Provide frontline support by answering our helpline, emails, and letters (with full training and supervision).
• Maintain contact with volunteers, supporters, and beneficiaries.
• Learn to use our internal database and support profile-raising activities.
• Help with communication to health professionals (midwives, health visitors, etc.).
• Occasionally liaise with journalists to provide general information.

Training & Support

We’ll provide full training during the first six months with ongoing support from experienced colleagues.

What you'll be doing.

You'll be working closely with our ecommerce Buyer on a day-to-day basis, playing a key support role for our online shop. You will have responsibility for a variety of administrative tasks, from liaising with suppliers to raising purchase orders and maintaining the critical path. You will also be helping to create content for our online shop, so excellent written communication skills are a must. As a small team there is also plenty of scope for a candidate with the right skills and interests to get involved with sales forecasting and product selection.
