About Myaware

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people living with myasthenia.  

Myasthenia means muscle weakness. The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions including myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome and congenital myasthenic syndrome.

· We work to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition.

· We provide support services for people living with myasthenia and their families. These include welfare advice, online support groups and webinars, social media peer support groups and support and information via telephone and email.

· We raise vital awareness and campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals.

· Myaware funds research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic guidance and oversight, ensure operational efficiency and sustainability, and maintain the organisation's commitment to serving the myasthenia community.

Your responsibilities in the role will include:

· Advising and working with the Chair and Trustees on the strategic direction of the charity and implementing board decisions,

· Leading by example and embodying Myaware values of respect, passion, collaboration, integrity and sustainability,

· Networking across the sector and raising the profile of the charity and people living with myasthenia across the nations where Myaware operates,

· Delivering effective management and administration of the organisation,

· Leading a fantastic team of colleagues, supporting their work and development and displaying emotional intelligence and leadership.

· Providing a clear vision and promoting the mission, aims and objective of Myaware and leading delivering the budget, an ambitious fundraising strategy and organisational direction.

Location: Remote, with regular attendance at offices in Derby

Salary: £50-55K dependent on experience

Reports to: Chair and Board of Trustees

Holiday: 36 days including statutory bank holidays

The Fundraising Officer at the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) supports a wide range of the charity’s activities, including but not limited to, helping to develop and grow income from individual donors with a focus on developing strong relationships with donors and families; as well as assisting with CHECT’s overall admin and operations.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping families affected by retinoblastoma and shares our values to increase awareness through communications and appeals, expanding our social media and website content and supporting our exciting fundraising efforts.

You will have a high level of autonomy and will be given the opportunity to develop new ideas in a role that is varied and flexible. 

Key Objectives of the role:

• To assist the Fundraising Manager on the organisation of events primarily mass participation events

The Role

As a Learning and Participation Officer, you will be responsible for creating and delivering learning and participation experiences, workshops and events with the support of a team of learning volunteers.

If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

Programme Delivery

· Develop, and implement educational programmes, workshops, participatory and family events that align with the organisation's goals and objectives.

· Development and creation of supporting documentation and physical resources used for the L&P programme.

· Coordinate, timetable and brief all Learning Volunteers for all activity on and off site.

· To work with the Head of Learning and Participation and wider Arboretum team to develop engagement opportunities for all visitors.

· Delivery and facilitation of both formal and informal workshops sessions (Term time and school holidays)

· To organise and manage all practical elements of visits and workshops at the National Memorial Arboretum including sourcing and preparing of any materials and resources.

· Design and deliver work experience programmes for students age 14 

· Support and deliver young people’s volunteering programmes- Duke of Edinburgh and Young Arboretum Ambassadors.

· Support on large scale events on site representing Learning and Participation.

· Coordinate the Lifelong Learning programme.

Systems and Documentation

· Supervise and maintain an efficient and effective bookings system, generating statistics and a dedicated learning database.

· Gather and monitor visitor data and case studies.

Curriculum Development

· Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and refine curriculum materials that are engaging, informative, and align with the organisation's educational goals.

· Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure program content remains relevant and up-to-date.

Internal and External Relationships

· Collaborate with RBL Remembrance team.

· Work closely with marketing and communication team to input into developing strategies to promote learning and participation programmes and events to the target audiences.

· Develop and build external relationships with schools , colleges and universities.

Feedback and Evaluation

· Implement assessment tools, surveys, and feedback mechanisms to gather participant input and measure program effectiveness.

· With the Head of Learning and Participation review and assess collected data to make informed decisions about programme  improvements and adjustments

· Any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as requested by the Head of Learning and Participation.

Working closely with colleagues across the charity, your responsibilities will include the processing of purchase invoices and expenses, raising of contract invoices, assisting with budgets and forecasts and supporting our Income Generation team with their finance needs. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to various finance projects and strategic initiatives.

The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) in schools. Together we want to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and be inspired through their cadet experience.

We are looking for a Chief Executive officer who is passionate about the mental health of our communities.  They will lead Riverside Counselling Service in defining and delivering its strategy and ensuring it uses its funding and income to provide accessible mental health services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, and experience of working in the mental health sector or allied disciplines.  They will also have extensive experience of fundraising and be happy to take a proactive role in this area. Key responsibilities

Strategic Planning

· Work closely with the Board of Trustees and the senior leadership team to devise, implement and deliver Riverside’s strategy and business plan

· Act as the public face of Riverside Counselling Services and represent the charity across the mental health sector, within professional bodies and within the media

Governance

· Work closely with the board to ensure they are able to fulfil their governance responsibilities and maintain high standards of governance

· Ensure the charity is meeting its overall purpose within a clear governance framework with associated policies, procedures and best practice guidelines

About the role

In this varied and rewarding role, you will provide vital administrative, financial, and operational support across a range of our services that enable older people and those living with disabilities and mental health challenges to stay independent, active and connected to their communities. 

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Administration: You'll be integral to delivery of our handyperson service, exercise programmes for older people and decluttering service, managing enquiries, referrals, bookings, invoices and payments.

• Project Support: You'll help support our community projects, supervising activities where needed, assisting with admin and data collection, and being a point of contact for new and existing volunteers. 

• General Operations: You'll wear many hats, supporting senior staff with HR, training, communications, IT, health & safety, and providing a friendly face. 

We are looking for someone who:

• Has empathy and can communicate effectively with a diverse range of service users, including older adults, those with disabilities, and those facing mental health challenges.

• Is a whiz with administration, has a keen eye for detail, and can work comfortably and effectively across multiple projects.

• Is confident using (or comfortable learning to use) a range of software and collaborative platforms (e.g. Google Workspace, Trello, Airtable) and accounts management software (ideally QuickBooks).

FUNDRAISING OFFICER - EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

 We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with a passion for our mission to equip our organisation with the financial resources needed to meet our objectives as we work to scale our fundraising by growing our charitable income across all funding streams, maximising supporter engagement and fulfilling fundraising operational duties

This is a new role, joining a small but growing Fundraising and Events Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will oversee most fundraising income generation activity.

The Fundraising Officer will build positive relationships to secure significant income and develop new relationships with groups, business and individuals, bringing in regular and targeted income through regular donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating fundraising campaigns and ‘asks’). Through this, you will assist the whole organisation in our commitment to showing kindness, raising self-belief, and inspiring hope for the future in the individuals we support. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising Overview

1. Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Maximise the contributions and connections with local business and individuals.
3. Coordinate all appeals including The Big Walk across all income and media streams.
4. Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities such as Payroll Giving, Legacies (with help from The Legacy Officer), in Memory Giving and Online Giving.

Supporter Engagement and Stewardship

1. Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to The Trust’s supporters.
2.  To be responsible for thanking all supporters and managing a supporter engagement journey – ensuring that effective processes are in place and driving levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
3.  Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all fundraising volunteers and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes, in conjunction with other teams.
4.  Develop and implement Fundraising groups across the UK

Database Management

1. To ensure efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.
2.  Maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed.
3.  Train other staff members to support general fundraising.
4.  Ensure all records, fundraising data and fundraising administration is kept up to date and all information is GDPR-compliant.
5.  Reconcile fundraising income with the Finance Manager, including Gift Aid claims, missed, failed payments and Direct Debit cancellations.

 Individual Giving

1. Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
2. Lead the growth of CT100 monthly giving.
3. Work with the Press and PR Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.

Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns

1. Work alongside teams and PR and Communications Manager to promote The Cinnamon Trust.
2. Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the PR and Communications Manager.
3. Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside PR and Communications Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses and individuals

Staff and Volunteers

1. Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropriate.
2.  Work closely with Head of Operations and PR and Communications Manager  to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.

Wider organisational responsibilities

1. Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.
2. Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Operations.

Established in 2000, Caudwell Children is a national charity working to transform the lives of disabled children and their families, enabling them to challenge the barriers they face throughout childhood by providing practical and emotional support.

We’re now searching for a new Chief Executive Officer to drive our current strategy and continue to support our members to be both happy and to fulfil their potential. Experience of contracting with local authorities will be key, as well as a proven track record in leading purposeful change with sensitivity and tact. The Policy and Public Affairs Officer plays an important role in achieving that vision, working to ensure that everyone affected by sarcoma has access to an early, accurate diagnosis and the best treatment and care.

Duties and key responsibilities

Policy

• Work with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager to support and deliver Sarcoma UK’s policy development.
• Support the development of evidence-based policy positions that are representative of the external healthcare environment, working alongside colleagues, clinical and healthcare professionals.
• Produce a range of high-quality, evidence-based documents including briefings, reports, and consultation responses.
• Support the Policy and Public Affairs Manager to respond to government and other sarcoma-focused or cancer consultations.
• Provide the Secretariat to Sarcoma UK’s Early Diagnosis Expert Steering Group and support their work to raise the profile of issues preventing early and accurate diagnosis of sarcoma.
• Work with other teams in the organisation to articulate and deliver communications for supporter audiences around policy work.

Public Affairs

• Develop relationships with key influencers, including parliamentarians, civil servants, the NHS and other stakeholders.
• Work with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager and Communications Team to shape campaigns which are evidence based and solution-focused.
• Organise events, meetings and briefings to ensure our policy messages are communicated to external stakeholders and influencers.
• Ensure our supporters are regularly updated about our public affairs and campaigning activity using communication channels and involve them where appropriate.
• To support the Communications Team to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of sarcoma, and to publicise the work of the charity.

External relationships

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with sarcoma clinicians and people personally affected by sarcoma, including members of Sarcoma UK’s Early Diagnosis Expert Steering Group.
• Represent Sarcoma UK at external Policy and Public Affairs events.

General

• Support the integration of the Policy and Public Affairs programme across the charity as a whole.
• Attend Sarcoma UK events and take part in Sarcoma UK’s wider work.
• The role will require occasional travel to meeting and events. Occasional weekend or evening work may also be required and time off in lieu will be given.
• The post holder will be working in a developing environment, and they will therefore be required to undertake other appropriate duties as necessary for the efficient operation of Sarcoma UK.

Dogs Trust Worldwide recently joined forces with World Veterinary Service and its Mission Rabies project in 2023 and together we are on a mission to improve the welfare of dogs around the world and protect them from maltreatment, cruelty and suffering. We have an exciting opportunity for a Trust and Foundations Officer to join our team and play a vital role identifying, researching and approaching trusts and foundations interested in funding projects which focus on global canine welfare.

About the role:

As Trusts and Foundations Officer (International) you will:

• Support the Trust and Foundations Team Manager (International) to deliver the trusts/foundations element of the fundraising strategy.
• Meet an agreed annual income target via trusts/foundations, which contributes toward the Trust Team’s target.
• Develop a pipeline of charitable trusts/foundations that could support a range of international projects, programmes and activities.
• Write high quality funding bids, in line with the requirements of potential funders, and upholding Dogs Trust’s brand and high standards

About you:

To succeed in this role, you will have a demonstrable track record of securing grants from charitable trusts/foundations, well-developed written and verbal communication skills and, above all, be a strong, positive team player, committed to the aims and values of Dogs Trust.

You will have exceptional attention to detail and a strong aptitude for writing creative narrative that will ensure our applications stand out when being assessed. Ideally, to be considered for a role focused on fundraising for our international projects you will have a successful track-record of trust fundraising for international projects or a strong interest in doing so.
