The Role 

JLGB are recruiting a Finance & Fundraising Coordinator who will play a vital role in helping the charity achieve its financial, fundraising and organisational objectives. Supporting the Director of Operations & Finance, the role is essential for the smooth running of the charity’s finances, collaborating with teams across JLGB, as well as volunteers and external suppliers. With some support from JLGB’s administration team, you will be undertaking all financial transactions including payment runs, bank and income reconciliations. Managing our donor database, ensuring that Gift Aid is collected regularly. The position will be suitable for someone who has experience in these areas and is flexible, reliable, highly numerate and interested in working to support young people to reach their potential. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Processing and reconciling various financial administrative tasks, including petty cash and incoming card payments (via stripe and other card processors) 

• Providing effective financial administrative support to all JLGB programmes and functions 

• Providing support to the Finance Director and assisting with management accounts 

• Preparing expenditure reports for the senior leadership team, finance sub-committee, Trustee Board, funders and stakeholders 

• Validating and processing weekly expenses 

• Ensuring that Gift Aid is collected on a regular basis 

• Managing our Donor Database 

• Supporting with Income generation and fundraising events. 

• Supporting the delivery of the year-end financial reporting 

• Ensuring that financial documents are filed 

• Supporting audit processes to demonstrate compliance 

• Maintaining accounts and generating invoices on QuickBooks computer software 

• Overseeing debtor analysis and recovery 

• Contributing to the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes 

• Managing external suppliers, supplier accounts and purchases  

• Supporting other members of the administration team whenever necessary

Person specification 
We are looking for some of the following attributes in the successful applicant, you may be more experienced in some areas than others.  We are interested in experience that’s both job-related or gained through other areas of your life. Training and support will be given in any areas required. 

• A relevant finance qualification eg AAT, ACCA, CIMA or currently working towards one 

• Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting and reporting systems and advanced excel. 

• Substantial experience of bookkeeping and processing payments

• Understanding of Accounting Principles 

• The ability to initiate and maintain systems 

• Confident and polite telephone manner for debt recovery and supplier procurement 

• Ability to pro-actively engage with internal and external stakeholders up to Senior Management level 

• Ability to present financial information and make it understandable to non-finance stakeholders

New Routes Integration

 Since 2003 New Routes has been working with, and supporting, refugees, asylum seekers and isolated migrants in Norwich to support their wellbeing and ambitions by providing skill-building and social programmes in a safe and welcoming environment. Pause works with women who have experienced – or are at risk of – repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. The programme gives women the chance to pause and take control over their lives, breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma. We are now working with more women who have experienced multiple removals than anyone else in the country.

The Pause Practice Lead will manage one of our largest teams – six Pause Practitioners and one Coordinator. The Practice Lead will ensure effective delivery of the Pause programme – they will work alongside their team, bringing a wealth of direct practice experience of complex work to maximise the team’s potential. 

The Practice Lead will provide high levels of supervision and leadership to team members from a variety of disciplines, as well ensuring fidelity and integrity to the model. They will typically have significant experience in both operational and project management, with an ability to manage complex data and demonstrate impact. Additionally, they will usually have experience of evidence informed approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Effectively lead and coach the Pause Practice to achieve positive outcomes for women - setting vision, targets and priorities;
• Ensure fidelity and integrity to the model through delivery of the Pause Framework elements, for example, assertive outreach with women and ensuring the most effective form of long-acting reversible contraception is in place;
• Ensure effective pathways are established and maintained with key agencies, e.g. sexual health, housing and mental health;
• Ensure an evidence base is applied to practice through assessment of a woman's needs, case formulation, intervention delivery and review;
• Ensure outcomes are achieved and monitored through the Pause Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework and that real-time data is used to improve practice and reported to relevant funders;
• Report to the Local Pause Board and any other relevant funders;
• Manage expenditure of the Pause Practice and ensure any financial spend on women is aligned with their goals as set out in the care plan;
• Ensure the effective management of all statutory requirements related to the Pause Practice at all times, including safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults, and health and safety of staff;
• Represent Pause to external stakeholders;

The post-holder will be key in supporting the WWP in this, and also, with both WWP and CEO, in mapping out the key events and activities over a 6 year cycle, so that there is a clear structure for the new WWP (and ultimately successor to CEO ) to come into and work with. They will also assist the CEO in “standard agenda planning” for the board, for example, the induction of the new Board in early 2025.

Whilst the role is for 3 days per week, ideally this would be flexible, with the individual working more days at certain times (for example during the Board week) and less at quieter times.

Work Location

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays.

Summary of Role

Working under the direction of our Centre Managers at Arc in the Park and Abbey Hub, Youth Workers are key to ensuring the successful delivery of our provision for young people. The role will include providing support to vulnerable and at-risk service users.

·Providing for the social, personal, educational and leisure needs of young people by assisting in the running, organisation and delivery of AAA youth projects, including building-based and detached street work projects

·Establishing positive relationships with all young people supporting and enabling them to increase their confidence and realise their potential, fully integrating them into all project activities. 

·Coordinating resources and developing opportunities and activities for young people which reflects their particular needs and circumstances. 

·Facilitating the active involvement of the young people in the planning and development of the project programme. 

·Facilitating the positive integration of young people with disabilities, behavioural difficulties and/or special needs within the project. 

·Mentoring young people by supporting positive behaviours, delivering life-skills sessions and workshops.

·Assisting young people in identifying progression opportunities and providing on-going transition support for those moving into college, employment, apprenticeships or further learning.

·Monitoring and evaluating projects with young people and staff, providing reports as required to the Board of Trustees.

Urban Saints are looking to recruit a new Communications Manager to join the team. This is a critical role, where you will be taking a lead to ensure that Urban Saints' internal and external communications are as effective as they can be. You will manage the Communications Team to ensure effective delivery of our communications strategy that promotes the identity and values of Urban Saints. Working with all other branches of Urban Saints, you will also maintain overall responsibility for ensuring that Urban Saints communicates well with the wide range of audiences we are seeking to connect with.

The ideal candidate will be one who understands and is passionate about ministry, particularly with opportunities provided through communications. They will also be experienced and confident with all primary channels and tools within the communications and marketing arena. We are also looking for someone who possesses a strategic mindset who is able to act as advisor to the CEO on Communications and Marketing matters, and to achieve impact through partnership and networking.

About you:

As the Head of Finance you will lead the day to day operational function of the finance team and provide strategic support to the senior management team and trustees.  The role will directly report to the Chief Executive and is a great opportunity for an individual looking to further develop their career.

You will be a qualified finance professional who has experience of working at a senior finance level with drive and enthusiasm to further develop and implement effective finance systems and processes. You will have a crucial role in continuing the success of the organisation and be able to prepare high quality reliable and timely management information to the Executive and Board of Trustees.   Ideally you will have a good understanding of charity accounting and regulation as well as compliance and governance within charitable organisations. You will have strong leadership skills to motivate and develop the small final finance team, helping individuals to fulfil their potential.
