We have been providing sheltered housing in our Grade II listed building since 1973 and have nine good sized rooms each with their own en-suite or designated private bathroom. Our dedicated, caring and professional team of staff make the home friendly and welcoming.

The Abbeyfield Norwich Society is looking to expand its board of trustees, with particular interest in applicants who have knowledge, expertise and a general background in Adult Social Care, supported living and working with older people. Further skills such as a working knowledge of how local authorities, operate and impact on the lives of older people, or legal, financial knowledge.

The main duty for this role is to attend 6, in person board meetings. These may require reading and research prior to the meeting itself, which will be provided for you.

The successful candidate would have an understanding of Abbeyfield England’s ethos, culture, aims and ambitions for older people. As well as an insight into Abbeyfield England, we would expect the successful applicant to have a proven background in a management or senior management setting.

Swansea Community Workshops

The Board of Trustees are looking to recruit a knowledgeable and experienced individual for the voluntary role of Secretary (Board of Trustees). The main activity at Swansea Community Workshops (SCW) is to provide facilities for hobbies, recreation, and leisure time occupation in a socially interactive and practical environment, where there are skills sharing, learning of new skills, and helping community-based projects. Role Overview

We're looking for Tin Coordinator Volunteers in Walsall and the surrounding areas!

Tin Coordinators are responsible for placing, collecting and replacing collection tins in their local area. This involves going into local businesses (e.g. shops, restaurants, bars) that already have our collection tins approximately every six months to check if the tin is full and replacing it with a new one. Additionally, we would like you to continually be on the look out for new venues who may be willing to have a tin. You know your local area best so are perfectly placed to find new venues! 

How much time will it take?

Being a Tin Coordinator is a flexible role and requires relatively low commitment. You can place tins whilst out and about walking, socialising, and running your regular errands. Each tin can stay at a location for at least six months before it will need replacing, and you will only be asked to work with tins in your local area so there is no travelling time.

Getting the right support at the right time can make a world of difference.

In the challenging times following a terminal diagnosis or the death of a loved one, the Hospice has a range of support available. The Man Shed provides an alternative to formal support, enabling ‘Shedders’ to spend time with others in similar situations while engaging in a purposeful activity, learning new skills and enjoying friendship and support along the way. The primary aim of the Man Shed is to be a place to talk with others about anything and everything. Volunteers also help ‘Shedders’ to plan and safely work on their DIY projects, and make sure sessions run smoothly. 

We’re looking for Man Shed Session Leader Volunteers for all sessions but especially Mondays and Thursdays. This is a weekly commitment of 6 hours per week, you will commit to 2 sessions on 1 day per week. Sessions take place from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30-3.30pm, with some time required to set up and leave the workshop tidy afterwards.

You’ll enjoy helping and teaching other users, be comfortable supervising the safe use of equipment, and offer a listening ear to the attendees.

Full training and support will be provided. You must be able to attend equipment training day.

• Maintain the marketing and communication strategy in line with the existing vision / mission of Filling Good and in agreement with the other members of the Board. 

• Manage the collective review every year

• Deliver the communication and marketing plan

• Find the necessary volunteers / resources to execute the plan

• Liaise with current volunteers who are responsible for Website, Social Media and Newsletters and other advertising activities. 

About You

• You have experience in marketing, social media, communication, copywriting.

• You have experience with retail, local businesses, and not-for-profit businesses.

Enter and view representatives are trained to visit health and care services, to see how services are running in action. They speak with service users and their families, and staff to find out what people think of services. 

As this role involves the provision of health services, all volunteers will have to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

‍Key tasks might include: 

• Preparing for visits to health and social care services by reading background information
• Taking part in visits looking at how the service is provided and talking to staff, relatives and service users about the service
• Working with the team to produce a written report on what was valued at the visit, and where improvements could be made
• Taking part in training sessions relevant to the Enter and View programme
• Contributing to the development of the Enter and View programme

Key Skills and interests for the role: 

• Some knowledge and understanding of health and social care services. This could be through working in a particular service area or a general understanding from experience as a carer or service user
• Commitment to improving the lives of others
