As a Community Support Volunteer - Stream for Samaritans, you’ll be helping to research and engage with new creators utilising a range of skills from social media to community management to help Samaritans towards their vision that fewer people should die by suicide.

What is the role?

The Community Support Volunteer - Stream for Samaritans will work closely with the Events Fundraising Manager Gaming and Streaming to help increase the reach of the team in the online creator space so Samaritans can raise more funds to help those with suicidal thoughts get help when they need it the most.

You will be a vital part of the team, using your skills and network to find new creators to engage with, carrying out research and safeguarding checks and becoming a key point of contact for those wanting to learn more about this exciting area of fundraising. You’ll also help to set the tone for our Discord community by posting regularly, moderating and being part of conversations to inspire our supporters to get more involved with fundraising for Samaritans.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Use your passion and enthusiasm for all things content creation to help Samaritans towards their vision that fewer people should die by suicide
• Use your engagement and communication skills to support Samaritans in the expansion and development of our content creator fundraising events
• Learn new skills and meet new people both virtually and in person
• Gain experience of community management and work in the charity sector as part of a busy events team at a large UK charity
• Learn more about content creator led fundraising, event planning and project management
• Attend a variety of industry events throughout the year
• You’ll be helping to support Samaritans and their work to help those who are struggling to cope for any reason

Time commitment

The role is incredibly flexible and any support you can provide would be appreciated - equivalent of one day per fortnight would be ideal. This time can be spread across multiple days however suits you best.

Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The Carers Trust conducted an Adult Carer Survey Report 2023 that quoted “Unpaid carers are not unsung heroes. We are forgotten, neglected and burnt out”. Our services are vital in being able to support them with a range of services to improve their wellbeing and to give them a voice. Carers UK research in 2022 estimates the number of unpaid carers could be as high as 10.6 million within the UK. Richmond Carers Centre currently has 2720 registered carers as of May 2026. This comprises of 2134 adult carers and 586 young carers.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We are looking for someone that would like to volunteer their time to help us to provide a coordinated approach in supporting unpaid adult carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

As a Volunteer, you will be part of a small, dedicated team that provides a range of services to adult carers. The focus of this volunteer role is to support in the delivery of the activity and leisure break programme. The Lysene Foundation is a start‑up charitable organisation inspired by the micronation known as the Principality of Lys — a creative community rooted in the classical arts, architecture, and beauty of the French Renaissance, Baroque, Beaux‑Arts, and the age of Humanism and Enlightenment.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organised, strategic, and solutions‑driven Head of Operations to build and oversee the operational backbone of the foundation. This is a senior volunteer role ideal for someone who enjoys creating structure, designing systems, and ensuring that a growing organisation runs smoothly and efficiently.

You will establish our operational frameworks, develop internal processes, and support the coordination of teams across the foundation. As we grow, you will build and lead an operations department, ensuring that our programmes, volunteers, and leadership have the systems they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the foundation’s operational strategy, systems, and workflows.

• Create and maintain organisational policies, procedures, and best‑practice frameworks.

• Oversee internal coordination across departments, ensuring smooth communication and alignment.

• Support project planning, scheduling, and cross‑team collaboration.

• Establish tools and platforms for internal operations (project management, documentation, communication).

• Monitor organisational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Work closely with senior leadership to ensure operations support strategic goals.

• Build and lead an operations team as the foundation grows.

• Ensure compliance with relevant governance, data protection, and safeguarding standards.

• Support risk management, reporting, and organisational planning.

We Are The Lysene Foundation

Causeway Education  are partnering with the Sweaty Betty Foundation to deliver workshops to girls in secondary schools about the importance of physical activity.

Our collaboration involves bringing role models from the community (across a variety of sectors and professions) into schools with us to deliver classroom-based workshops that act both as a careers education and also a motivation for staying physically active. For example, our role models might talk about how physical activity (however big or small, in whatever shape that looks like for them) has helped with their mental wellbeing or skill development in resilience, confidence, problem-solving that has allowed them to get where they are today in their careers. It is taking a holistic approach to viewing physical activity beyond appearance, to show teenage girls how being physically active can benefit them moving forward.

We are looking for women who are interested in speaking with girls about how physical activity has helped them with mental wellbeing, education and career goals and developing skills. The workshops last between 1.5 to 2 hours and are co-facilitated with a member of our team. Your role as a volunteer role model is to join the facilitator in assisting with activities that help re-frame the girls thinking around physical activity and encourage them to set a pledge in an area they are interested in exploring.

No previous experience required and a 1:1 introductory training call provided. No time commitment - you can do as many or as little workshops as you like, and we liaise with the school against your availability, location etc. Travel expenses are reimbursed. If you are passionate about getting teenage girls active, and feel you can share your own journey and experiences with physical activity, this would be great for you.

There are opportunities for volunteers across Greater London and Greater Manchester.
