As a not-for-profit charity we have a small, expanding, creative and dedicated team and a supportive board of volunteer trustees.

As several of our trustees come to the end of their terms of office we are looking for new trustees.

Being a director for the Charity of Elizabeth Janes Jones and the David Henry Waring Home is an exciting and challenging role, bringing with it opportunities for applying strategic thinking, planning, creativity, and stewardship which can help guide the Charity to achieve its goals in the management of its properties, a site re-development which is a significant milestone in the Charity’s history.

Our directors are responsible in law for managing the incorporated entity, and as we are a charitable organisation our directors are also trustees at law and have formal responsibilities under the Companies Act 2006.Our directors give their time voluntarily and the positions are unremunerated, but reasonable out of pocket expenses may be allowable.

As a director, you’ll work as part of a board alongside our other directors and will also have opportunities to work with the CEO, staff, and volunteers, adding to the range of knowledge, skills, and experience within the Charity’s team.  As well as bringing fresh ideas to current and future property management and development projects, the director role also has responsibilities for the governance of the Charity, regulatory compliance matters and the effective stewardship of our finances and resources.

• Dedicating the necessary time to prepare for and attending scheduled meetings and other obligations.

• Think creatively and identify new directions, whilst preserving the overall purpose of the Charity.

We’re looking for people who are passionate about making a difference to the housing sector we would love to hear from you if you’d like to contribute. Ideally, we are hoping to find volunteers with professional qualifications experience and knowledge in the following areas:

·Practical skills and knowledge of social housing and the housing sector and an understanding of the difficulties face by individuals with disadvantaged backgrounds.

·Practical skills and knowledge of, accounting and budget management, using financial data to run a team, function or organisation and to make financial decisions which optimises budgets and contributes to the smooth running of the operation.

·Charity law and governance, with a practical understanding of a directors, legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities.

·Familiarity with personal responsibilities and liabilities like that of a director and acting in the best interests of the team and organisation.

·Time management and decision-making skills.

·Management and mitigation of risk, including areas such as finance, media and PR.

·Interacting with others and people skills, and a track record of being able to get along with, boards, employees, service users and the public.

·Working with and interpreting data and management information to develop plans and help make and support the making of informed decisions.

·An understanding of and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Time commitment: The full Board meets every 2 months and meetings last for about 2.5 hours. In addition, Board members are expected to be members of at least one sub committees. These meet when needed but typically monthly. 

CleanupUK is a small charity with big aspirations. We use the activity of litter-picking to support people living in disadvantaged areas to form litter-picking groups – not only to keep their neighbourhood clean but also to bring the community together.

Now in its 18th year, CleanupUK is embarking on a growth phase. As a result, we would like to attract people to CleanupUK’s board as trustees who have varied and diverse backgrounds and experience. You will likely feel passionate about the issue of litter and also about its impact on communities.

We are currently looking to recruit a trustee with senior fundraising experience who is prepared to devote their time and energy to helping CleanupUK grow into the next stage.We require the succesful individual to have a good understanding of a broad range of fundraising channels, including trusts and foundations, statutory and Lottery, corporate partnerships and other channels that a growing charity might wish to make use of.

Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

Who are we looking for?

At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to expand its reach and part of that journey is to develop an online food bank, allowing people access to a food bank that may not get help through their local council/Job Centre and may only want to use the service online.

People may want to use the online service of a food bank for many reasons, whether due to disability or not. 

The role of Project Co-ordinator role will oversee this project with guidance and input from the trustees, lived experience board members and with the support of other co-ordinators that are relevant to the outreach, funding and running of the service.

Home-Start Suffolk is seeking an experienced and committed individual to join our Board of Trustees as Treasurer. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital leadership role in a well-established and growing charity that supports families across Suffolk. As Treasurer, you will work closely with the Chair, CEO, Finance Sub Committee and wider Board to ensure strong financial oversight and governance.

You’ll help guide our financial strategy, support budget-setting and risk management, and ensure that financial information is clear and accessible to the Board. We are specifically looking for someone with experience in charity finance, ideally with a background in accountancy or financial management. You will bring a solid understanding of financial governance and charity reporting requirements and be confident in offering strategic insight as well as practical advice.

About CleanupUK

CleanupUK was founded in 2007.  We are a young and ambitious charity with a strong sense that whatever we do, be it organising a litter-pick or holding a trustees’ meeting, should be fun. CleanupUK's major thrust is to help people who live in less affluent areas to get together, go out and pick up the litter in those parts of their community that the local council doesn't cover and so make their community not only cleaner but also stronger and safer. About the role:

You will be providing face-to-face or remote support through delivering HUK’s therapeutic 1-2-1 support program for people impacted by hoarding behaviour who may be facing a variety of situations including legal, financial, psychological and discriminatory abuse/neglect. You will be working with trained colleagues to alleviate housing, benefits, mental health and other problems experienced by HUK's participants.

The role consists of:

· Volunteering at HUK a minimum of one and a half-hours each week in accordance with program completion, preferably two years.

· Maintain a caseload of at least one participant.

· Taking responsibility for ongoing casework as required.

· Complying with HUK's case-management procedures, training program and other relevant policies and procedures.

We are looking for:

· Trainee Counsellors/Psychotherapists currently studying on a BACP, UKCP or BABCP accredited course.

· Trainee Counselling/Clinical/Forensic psychologist currently studying on BPS accredited doctoral courses.

· Qualified Counsellors/Psychotherapists that are accredited or working towards accreditation with the BACP, UKCP or BABCP

· Student or individual membership with the BACP, UKCP, BABCP and or HCPC

· Qualified Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologists with HCPC registration.

· A commitment to volunteering with us for one year.

· A commitment to values and ethos of HUK.

Purpose of role 

We're on a mission to grant magical wishes and create lasting memories for seriously ill children and their families. Join us in the office to help us manage our admin and provide the best support for our donors. This role requires you to be in the office either Monday or Thursday. 

Main Tasks: 

• Assisting with day-to-day customer care of fundraising activities as required by the team, e.g., managing incoming emails and telephone calls, helping with post, counting money etc.
• Helping to write letters and handwritten thank you cards to supporters.
• Helping to manage event guest lists and other admin tasks related to our special events
• Sending out fundraising materials as requested by supporters.
• Managing deliveries of items as they arrive in the office.
• Sorting fundraising materials in our storage space
• Updating and maintaining the CRM database where needed (training provided and open to people who would prefer not to use a database
• Creating materials using Word, PowerPoint or other software
• Any other admin tasks that will help the team manage workload

What skills do I need to have?

Experience of delivering good customer service and/or administration in a voluntary or paid capacity – or the desire to learn new skills

• Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, email, and the Internet for research purposes.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Sharing Seeds

We are a non-profit organization empowering rural communities in Nepal through organic Arabica coffee farming, beekeeping, and women-led community tourism.

Across Nepali villages, many young people migrate to the Middle East and other countries in search of better income, often working in harsh, risky conditions for very little pay—and sometimes losing their lives. At Sharing Seeds, we encourage local youth and women to rediscover opportunities at home by engaging in sustainable cash crop farming and community-based enterprises.

By promoting modern agricultural practices, we help farmers transform unused land into thriving organic coffee and beekeeping ventures. At the same time, we create fair-wage opportunities for rural women, enabling financial independence and stronger families.

Based in Sarangkot Pandeli village near Pokhara, Nepal’s tourism capital, Sharing Seeds is building a future where communities flourish through sustainable farming, women’s empowerment, and authentic tourism experiences.

Graphic Designer (Stickers)

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

This is the role for the interested creative volunteer with great experience in graphic design, who can create an outstanding sticker for our locally produced organic Coffee Cascara (Outer layer of dried arabica coffee) , sourced from our more than 100 small community farmers. We need this sticker to design and print as a label on our paperkfat packets to sell in the market and to travelers who come to our place for a visit.

Mentors work alongside our workshop leaders, providing children and young people, aged 7-18 with in-depth support, helping to create a safe space for them to write for pleasure and purpose.

We’re looking for volunteer Story Mentors and Illustrator Mentors to support our after-school clubs and on-off projects in Brighton, Worthing, Eastbourne and across Sussex. Please note that these roles are in-person only at various community-based locations.
