About the Company:
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our management team! You will be Deputy Manager for two supported living projects for 26 adults with learning disabilities and additional physical, sensory and communication support needs.
Working alongside the Project Manager, fellow Deputy Manager, and a team of support staff, you will provide excellent person-centred care to ensure the tenants' wellbeing, enabling independent and fulfilled living. This will involve supporting service users to take part in a range of meaningful and fun group activities, develop friendships and access services, as well as support with all aspects of day-to-day living. This may include working in partnership with family and advocates, where possible and appropriate.
You will contribute to the development of the team and be responsible for encouraging a culture based on respect and dignity for those in need of care and support, providing supervision and clear management to a team of Support Workers. You will also support the team with the development and implementation of care plans designed to provide meaningful choice and support to tenants.
Deputy Manager Requirements:
* Experience of working in a supervisory role involving staff management
* At least 1 year of experience working with people with learning disabilities and/or Autism; including people with high and complex needs and additional physical disabilities
* Experience of working with people from varied social and cultural backgrounds
* Understanding of what makes a quality support service for people with learning disabilities and/or Autism, including Social Role Valorisation, Person-Centred Values and self-direct support values
* Understanding of and sensitivity to the discrimination experienced by members of vulnerable and/or minority groups
* Understanding of self-directed support and personal budgets E Understanding of the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (Desirable)
* Knowledge and awareness of relevant legislation, current and forthcoming issues relating to services for people with learning disabilities
* Understanding of welfare benefits process (Desirable)
* Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate and collaborate effectively with a range of people
* Sufficient numeracy skills to confidently manage a budget
* Able to work on own initiative, proactively resolving issues
* IT proficient, with the ability to confidently use a range of computer software (i.e. Office and others), or willing to develop IT skills for the purposes of the role)
* Ability to adapt and respond positively to a dynamic work environment and to manage change effectively
* Ability to organise own and others' workloads effectively
* Strong self-reflective skills, able to take learning from situations
* Able to maintain professional boundaries and handle confidential information appropriately
