East End Homes, is a locally based and community-led housing association in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This year East End Homes is celebrating its 20th anniversary. In 2005 residents of five estates across Tower Hamlets voted for their homes and communities to be transferred to the newly established social landlord.  Today, its 120-strong team manages over 3,900 homes with local offices in each neighbourhood. 

The newly created Financial Controller position offers a rare opportunity for a technically strong, ambitious, and commercially aware finance professional to play a key role in reshaping East End’s finance function and influencing decision-making at a senior level. The Financial Controller will be a member of the Senior Management Team and this role is seen as a natural stepping stone toward Finance Director level within the sector.

The Role:

• Work closely with the Finance Director and Executive Team to support strategic planning and organisational transformation.
• Oversee the development and delivery of Eastend Homes’ long-term financial plans, annual budgets, and business modelling (including BRIXX).
• Deliver and embed a proactive finance business partnering approach across the organisation, influencing decision-making and performance management.
• Drive improvements to financial reporting, insight, and analysis, delivering value across the organisation.
• Coordinate the production of our financial plans and reports including monthly management accounts, the annual statutory accounts, forecasts and the budget.
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring sound internal controls, process improvement, and compliance with relevant regulations (FRS102, SORP, RSH).
• Manage cash flow forecasting, covenant compliance, and other treasury responsibilities, with support available for professional treasury qualifications if desired.
• Play a leading role in mentoring, developing, and embedding a high-performing, collaborative finance team (c.3–4 staff).

The Organisation:

East End Homes has made significant progress in stabilising its operations and strengthening its governance. With the appointment of a highly experienced new CEO and completion of key commitments to the Regulator of Social Housing, the organisation is now focused on long-term sustainability, performance improvement, and resident impact. The recent appointment of an Interim FD has brought further structure and capability to the finance function, and this Financial Controller hire will be a cornerstone of building a modern, resilient, and insight-led finance team.

Person Specification – Essential:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA).
• Strong technical knowledge of financial and statutory reporting including FRS102 and Housing SORP.
• Demonstrable experience in social housing finance including business planning, management accounting and regulatory compliance.
• Experience of delivering improvements in management reporting, financial controls, and/or business partnering.
• A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of engaging with and challenging senior stakeholders.
• Digitally confident with strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial planning tools (e.g., BRIXX).
• Forward-thinking and inquisitive, with a continuous improvement mindset and strong problem-solving ability.

THE ROLE

This role will be a key strategic advisor and responsible for high-level planning conversations to WaterAid UKs largest income generating Directorate: Communications and Fundraising. As the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for helping shape the strategic direction of fundraising team. The key duties of the Senior Finance Business Partner are as follows:

• Owning relationships with key senior stakeholders within the Communications and Fundraising Directorate.
• Regularly engaging on strategic long-term decision making and providing relevant financial data to key decision makers.
• Work with the directorate to build realistic and detailed financial plans.
• Own directorate specific timelines for delivering financial forecasts and budgets.
• Work with Head of Management Accounting to build a consolidated picture for WaterAid UKs performance for the Executive Director Team.
• Collaborate on the building and maintenance of automated reporting for directorate on PowerBI.
• Regularly engage with budget holders to ensure that spending and income is on track against plans.
• Ensure CRM data is complete and accurately reflected in the month end close position.
• Oversee the monthly recording of both unrestricted and restricted income streams.

The successful candidate will have:

• Completed a professional accounting qualification or be part-qualified with relevant professional experience.
• Experience of strategic partnering senior stakeholders (ideally at Executive Director level) along with senior leadership teams.
• Ability to analyse large quantities of data with a view to identifying trends and key drivers.
• Adaptability to build effective working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues and work in a collaborative way.

Key Responsibilities

Supporter Care and Engagement

· Frontline Supporter Engagement: You will be the first port of call for our supporters, managing inbound communications across phone, email, and various digital platforms.

· This includes warmly handling enquiries, taking and processing donations, and escalating complex issues to ensure a seamless and positive experience for everyone.

· Creative Communications & Gratitude: You will take the lead on thanking our supporters and making them feel valued.

· This involves drafting personalised acknowledgements, finding creative ways to share the impact of their support, and sending welcoming messages to new event participants.

· Collaborative Team Support: Act as a key support pillar for the Public Fundraising Team, especially during peak times and events.

· Your role will be dynamic, involving everything from on-the-day event assistance to managing logistics and taking ownership of specific fundraising activities.

· Digital Community Management: Help us maintain a vibrant and supportive online presence by monitoring shared inboxes and assisting with the moderation of our social media communities during key campaigns and fundraising challenges.

· In person support for several key owned events and other organised events each year, outside of core business hours as needed, for example – by supporting our London and Brighton marathon teams on the day (time off in lieu will be available).

Supporting Public Fundraising Campaigning and Administration

· Provide essential administrative support across the Events, Individual Giving, and Major Donor fundraising teams, contributing to the efficient operation of campaigns and activities.

· Work collaboratively with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing, logging, and acknowledgement of incoming donations and fundraising income.

· Perform data entry tasks, including setting up new regular gifts, and creating and updating communication records within the CRM system (Access CRM).

· Support the administration and stewardship journeys for fundraising events, assisting with tasks such as registration support, participant communication, and logistics administration.

· Provide surge capacity support during busy periods, particularly for high-volume activities like Facebook Challenge moderation and campaign-specific administration.

· Assist with the preparation and mailing of supporter communications, appeals, and stewardship materials.

· Some on the day support for fundraising events and logistics planning and delivery. This may involve some work outside of core working hours for which TOIL would be available.

Collaboration and Operational Efficiency

· Work effectively within our evolving Agile framework, which empowers teams and individuals to work collaboratively with transparency, with key teams to plan, prioritise, and deliver high-quality supporter engagement activities.

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across all teams, including Public Fundraising, Resources, Patient Projects, Finance and Communications, to ensure a joined-up supporter experience.

· Identify and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and supporter satisfaction, wherever possible.

Database and Compliance

· Adhere to all Prostate Cancer Research policies, procedures, and the staff code of conduct.

· Collect and maintain records and data both on CRM and elsewhere regarding supporter interactions, enquiry themes, supporter feedback, questions, interests etc. For helping us to improve.

Skills and Competencies

Purpose of Role

As Digital Fundraising Lead you’ll oversee Comic Relief’s Digital Fundraising & Engagement programme, from strategy to delivery; managing and developing a team of high performing colleagues. You’ll be role modelling and leading expert collaboration across the organisation, and with partner organisations, to deliver integrated digital fundraising and audience engagement growth in line with organisational objectives.

As a digital first organisation, a significant proportion of Comic Relief’s fundraising and public engagement is delivered via digital channels. In this high impact role, you will lead individuals and cross-organisational project teams to innovate, optimise and execute digital strategies and activities including shaping web UX journey’s; designing email communications and integrated digital media campaigns (including media targeting and digital content); and leading product and proposition development, all to deliver agreed annual income targets from a growing active supporter base.  Championing innovation, robust test and learn and performance marketing methodologies, the Digital Fundraising Lead will ensure Comic Relief’s investments in digital fundraising and engagement deliver maximum gains towards a just world free from poverty. 

Key responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning 

· Lead the strategy setting; annual planning and budget setting for Comic Relief’s Digital Fundraising and Engagement activity, including keeping abreast of external trends; innovations and digital developments and exploring how these factor into Comic Relief’s objectives; building financial models, developing business cases, setting and monitoring budgets and managing reforecasts throughout the year. 

· Where appropriate, bring x-organisational project teams together to strategise, plan and deliver digital fundraising and engagement change projects.

About the role

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the SU. Working as part of a busy team at the heart of the SU, you will be accountable for making sure that the staff and students have the financial advice and support they need to deliver our charitable purpose.

Your relationship with student treasurers and budget holders will be key, and you will ensure they have up to date and reliable management information, as well as ensuring that finance policies and processes are followed throughout the organisation.

You will act as finance lead on events and a range of projects, as well as providing expert knowledge of fundraising and grants support. You will also support the Head of Finance in delivering the strategic aims of the organisation, whilst stepping in to support the day-to-day delivery of your team.

• Part qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) or Level 4 AAT with experience
• Able to work under own initiative to deliver objectives to agreed targets and a high standard
• Able to lead and motivate individuals and a team through change
• Experienced and knowledgeable in accounts preparation, purchase/sales ledger management, stock and fixed asset reporting, and financial accounting using complex financial systems
• Aware of and experienced in good finance practice, accounting standards and guidelines related to charitable fundraising

Senior Management Accountant

The National Archives are a non-ministerial department, and the official archive and publisher for the UK Government, and for England and Wales. We are the guardians of over 1,000 years of iconic national documents.

Operating within the Management Accounting team, the postholder will act as a Senior Management Accountant for the business area for which they are made responsible. Working directly with budget holders, Heads of Department and Directors, they will manage all aspects of their management accounting and financial planning services providing incisive, value-add financial support and analysis which facilitates effective decision making.

The role:

• Be responsible for the provision of timely, accurate, relevant management information to all levels of management within assigned Directorates, regularly reviewing this information with the senior management teams. This will include provision of monthly reports, critical review of results, value-add analysis, explanation of variances and early identification of potential issues / opportunities.
• Be responsible for providing analysis that informs and supports effective decision making.
• Apply various tools such as investment appraisal techniques to better inform decision making.
• Support the business in gathering evidence to assess the costs, benefits and risks of a wide range of delivery options when making commercial decisions, and provide advice which helps secure value-for-money.

About the role

The main focus of the advice centre will be academic advice and appeals but it may need to adapt to the changing needs of students and will likely involve working with individuals who have complex situations who require support to navigate what steps to take. 

Advice and Support

• To provide specialist advice and information directly to students via physical and digital mediums as appropriate on academic matters
• To support students when referring them to appropriate internal & external agencies
• To advise and inform students of their rights and responsibilities as students of the University of Gloucestershire

Service Charge Analyst

Robertson Bell are pleased to be exclusively partnering with Gateway Housing Association in their search for a Service Charge Analyst to join their close-knit, dynamic team on a permanent basis. Gateway are uniquely the largest Sheltered Housing provider in Tower Hamlets and were the first registered provider of older persons shared ownership in the borough. They are particularly proud of their new build properties for leasehold, shared ownership and direct sale, which are low-density and high-quality.

They are seeking an organised, diligent Service Charge professional to support on the technical side of the Service Charge lifecycle and improve processes within the department. You will work closely with budget holders, enabling data-led decision-making and supporting donor and committee reporting. As a key member of a small, collaborative team, you will be hands-on managing a mix of transactional and more advanced duties, proactive in ensuring the key points in the yearly Service Charge cycle run smoothly.

Role Responsibilities:

• Undertake assigned processing, accounting, monitoring, control and review of service charge income and costs on a periodic basis.
• Review service charge income and costs monthly to ensure they have been charged to the correct scheme and fully investigate and resolve any principal variances and anomalies identified (e.g., miscoding’s, duplications).
• Prepare periodic reconciliations of service charge income and costs on a scheme/block level and with the preparation of annual service charge estimates and actuals processes for all tenures.
• Resolve service charge queries from internal and external customers.
• Complete assigned elements of strategic delivery projects across the organization, particularly relating to service charge specific projects.
• Ensure consistent apportionment and allocation of scheme costs in mixed tenure blocks and other complex schemes and regular monitoring, control and analysis of such costs.
• Implement and embed key service charge systems and processes as part of the organisation wide service charge improvement project.

Person Specification:

• Experience in service charge computation, accounting and analysis, including preparation of service charge budgets, estimates and actuals
• Robust understanding of residential service charge management, including current legislative requirements and sector best practice
• Strong organisational skills, able to control and deliver a range of tasks to strict deadlines
• Social housing experience.
• Experience of working with third parties, the wider community, and other external partners including managing agents

We are excited to be recruiting a part-time role for an Operations Manager in our dynamic voluntary sector adolescent mental health service.

Open Door is a young people’s mental health charity that has been based in Haringey, North London for 49 years. It aims to improve mental health and life-chances of young people. We provide an ‘Open Door’ to free, high quality psychological therapy to 12–24-year-olds delivered by experienced and highly trained clinicians. We also support parents and carers, struggling with the issues their children face. We aim for access to be simple and over half of those we support, self-refer. Many young people who come to us have significant mental health difficulties and have faced barriers to services. Open Door delivers evidence informed practice and has been commended for our ambitious approach to outcome driven care. 

Open Door  received national recognition for  impact, as a 2024 finalist for Health Service Journal (HSJ) Award for Reducing Inequality and Improving Outcomes for Children and Young People  Open Door is community embedded, integrated into the local mental health infrastructure, commissioned by North Central London Integrated Care Board and part of the Haringey Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service single-point-of-access. We have a strategic voice which is used to advocate for young people’s mental health and influence practice. Last year we supported over 800 young people, parents and carers and offered over 8000 appointments. This is an exciting time to join Open Door.
