About the role
As a digital content designer, you’ll be a key part of our digital product team, working at the forefront of managing and enhancing the content on our website and microsites. You’ll support the charity by providing expert advice, producing impactful web content, and ensuring our digital presence aligns with our users’ needs and strategic objectives.
Taking an insight-led approach, you’ll design content that is optimised for both user needs and organisational goals. Reporting to the digital content design manager, you’ll help establish and maintain the full content lifecycle, ensuring our digital presence is accessible, clear, and focused on helping people affected by breast cancer.
About you
You’re a user-focused content professional with experience in designing insight-led web content that meets both user needs and organisational strategy. You have a strong understanding of UX principles and know how to apply SEO strategies to enhance content visibility and performance.
You’re a proactive and enthusiastic team player who is comfortable switching between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery. You can work methodically to solve user problems, create and follow processes, and uphold governance standards, while also using your creative skills to design content, edit personal stories, and craft compelling copy.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience designing and editing content for landing pages, case studies, webforms and other digital formats
- Proficiency using a content management system (CMS)
- Proficiency using tools such as GA4, Hotjar, and MOZ to inform content decisions
- A solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and plain English best practices
- Understanding of GDS content design standards
- Exceptional editing, proofreading, and copywriting skills
- The ability to interpret data and user research to craft engaging, impactful content

About the role
This role is promote Healthwatch to local residents and stakeholders, and support people to get involved in our work. You’ll be a skilled communicator, comfortable networking and engaging with a diverse range of local residents. This role is primarily based in Westminster, and we’re looking for someone who can understand and relate to the diverse local population.
Your role will involve finding innovative ways to present the information the team gathers to key audiences. This will range from face-to-face conversations with partners and funders through to producing imaginative materials. This includes producing accessible reports and presentations to make sure we can maximise the impact of people’s feedback.
You’ll be responsible for a variety of internal and external communications for the Healthwatch Westminster producing impactful communications across all platforms including our website, social media channels and newsletter. You’ll also produce informative and engaging content for our websites, keeping it fresh and relevant for our diverse audiences.
As well as developing our online presence, you’ll own the Westminster engagement plan. This will involve identifying engagement opportunities, working with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure we have good coverage at events across the borough, and getting out into the local community to promote our service and hear from local residents.
Working as part of a small team, you’ll be involved in many aspects of the organisation. You’ll need to be flexible, with a ‘can do’ attitude to meet the evolving needs of the service. You will need to work in close collaboration with our other Healthwatch services in Kensington & Chelsea and Brent, and occasionally support communications and engagement in those areas when the need arises.
Key responsibilities
Engagement
- Develop a vibrant engagement plan for Healthwatch Westminster, ensuring that we are reaching a wide range of residents a
- Develop effective relationships with local groups to promote the Healthwatch service and share platforms to capture people’s views and experiences.
- Keep abreast of good engagement practice and actively seek out innovative ways to capture and express people’s views/experiences, including engagement techniques appropriate to different audiences.
- Work in partnership with key stakeholders from the grassroots network to support engagement in projects, including coproduction and joint communications.
- Take a lead role in making sure all Healthwatch Brent activities involve people from all sections of the community, including seldom-heard communities.
Communications (Healthwatch Brent, Westminster, RBKC)
- Create engaging and up-to-date digital media content across all social media channels, including web content, Twitter and Facebook.
- Create regular newsletters and e-bulletins, circulating these to key stakeholders to support engagement.
- Design reports, presentations and stationary templates for the Healthwatch service, making sure all materials keep to the Healthwatch brand guidelines.
- Answer and respond appropriately to calls about the service, collaborating with the team to give signposting support via phone and email.
- Keep up to date with best practice from Healthwatch England, by reading, attending courses and networking.
- Carry out any other tasks needed for the service to run smoothly, as directed by the Healthwatch Manager.

- Good understanding of the NHS / social care, in particular the role of user/citizen involvement in developing services.

Project Trust is an education charity with over fifty years’ experience in international volunteering for young people. We organise challenging, long-term placements for 17–25-year-olds with partnership organisations in Africa, Asia and the Americas.
We annually select up to 200 young people from across the UK for immersive and focused teaching and youth development projects around the world. We are growing our team and developing a full-time role to 2 Part-time Comms Officers (0.6FTE) each working 22.5 hours per week to help take our charity’s communications to the next level. The Comms Officers will each bring their individual skills to the team and together will develop and deliver our charity’s communications strategy, changing the lives of people across the world who live with these rare and life impacting diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the strategy and daily running of all the charity's social media channels. This includes creating content, campaign planning, responding to messages and general housekeeping, engaging with online communities and looking for new and innovative ways to grow our audiences
- Liaise with external stakeholders and charity partners on Comms matters and joint campaigns
- Evaluate and report on activity and impact with suggestions for improvement

- Experience in a Comms or Marketing role
- Highly proficient in using social media platforms in a Comms or Marketing environment, including Hootsuite or equivalent, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Blue Sky and YouTube
- Experience of campaign planning
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Suite, or a similar asset design package
- Working knowledge of Content Management System
- Working knowledge of CRM systems, event ticketing and email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or similar
- Keen eye for detail, as work contains complex subject matter

To oversee the smooth running of the Society’s publishing platform, which showcases our portfolio of online titles. Reporting to the Head of Publishing Operations (HoPO), you will be chiefly responsible for the management, support and maintenance of the Atypon powered Lyell Collection platform.
You will collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and stay up to date with the latest emerging platform technologies. You will be responsible for maintaining the Society’s online publishing platforms, so an understanding of a range of standard integrations, workflows, html and XML is essential.
Key accountabilities
Platform maintenance
- Oversee and maintain the Atypon Web Admin Tool (WAT) for the Society’s scholarly book and journal platform.
- Manage a queue of platform maintenance and change requests, including triage, feasibility analysis, testing and quality assurance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting platform issues to Atypon (the hosting provider), managing communications, and monitoring the support ticket system to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot platform issues reported internally and communicate resolution statuses.

About this role:
Reporting to the Head of Policy and Communications, the Policy and Communications Coordinator will support SIB’s track record of sector, government and media engagement, notably the high standard of publication set through its media partnerships with Tortoise and the Financial Times, its contributions to the policy landscape in the social sector, and its in-house data analysis and insight generation. 3. Attend / watch online relevant parliamentary committees, All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) and Commons and Lords sessions, capturing relevant outcomes and identifying MPs and Lords that SIB should seek to work with / influence.

5. Support the drafting of consultation responses and press releases using SIB’s core messaging, reporting, research and data.
6. Support SIB’s annual party conference attendance with coordination and administration in advance and in person.
7. Support the Head of Policy and Communications with attendance at influencing meetings and webinars with, for example, the Association of Decentralised Energy, Community Energy England, Locality, Better Society Capital, the Access Foundation and others.
8. Draft internal and external copy for newsletters and the SIB intranet and website.
9. Monitor the press email address and support correspondence with journalists on reactive and proactive stories.
10. Attend and provide oversight to the Social Investment Forum, as part of SIB’s secretariat and hosting.
11. Write, edit and produce engaging and relevant content at pace for web, social media and e-newsletters, as well as earned and paid channels.
12. Management of external suppliers of communications and policy activities, including agencies, designers, consultants and think tanks.
13. Work with the Marketing Manager, Marketing and Events Coordinator, Business Development Manager and wider team to deliver successful external events with customers, stakeholders and partners including attendance at Party Conferences.

Core competencies
- Previous experience of working in a public policy, PR, marketing, external affairs or communications role
- Excellent writing skills
- Good research skills, with an ability to absorb large amounts of information at pace, including in unfamiliar policy areas and produce cogent syntheses
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively teams across functions in an integrated way
- Good established networks through experience in a similar role, and a commitment to expanding those networks to support SIB’s strategic aims
- Experience of building effective media partnerships
- Good working knowledge of data-driven storytelling in a variety of outlets from organisation websites to mainstream media and confidence in interpreting data and understanding the key points to be drawn from it to gain traction in media and campaigning environments
- Experience of developing and delivering effective communications campaigns, including through a range of digital channels
- Strong planning skills and an ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong understanding of UK political context, especially as it concerns the social economy, and parliamentary process
- An understanding of how to promote research, policy papers, data analysis and other activities of a think tank and consultancy
- Excellent IT skills and the ability to learn new programmes quickly
