We are looking for a creative, ambitious and supportive team member to work across the fundraising and communications department and help us build awareness and engagement with our key audiences, especially hospital teams.

As Communications and Fundraising Assistant, you will play a particularly prominent role in telling the story of what Charity funding makes possible at King’s – generating high quality content to communicate the difference we’re making, and helping our communications officer to bring it to life it on our digital channels. It will suit somebody who uses social media extensively in their personal life and can draw on that insight to help the team connect with our audiences.

Key Tasks

• Working with the Communications Officer to create content for websites, digital platforms, social media, email campaigns and other channels. This includes the Trust’s Inside King’s magazine as well as our own channels. It could involve interviewing staff, patients and volunteers, creating films, taking photographs.
• Organising, distributing and updating the Charity’s marketing materials around the Trust, including posters, leaflets and banners.
• Helping to maintain the Charity’s social media presence, creating and scheduling engaging content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, producing analytics reports and using insights to inform future strategy.
• Developing our use of Sharepoint as an internal communications channel, and maintaining the Charity’s presence on the King’s staff intranet.
• Helping the Communications Officer keep our website fresh and engaging, identifying key user journeys and supporting colleagues across the charity to use the website to achieve business goals.
• Acting as a champion for the Charity’s work by attending regular events and assist in delivering internal engagement opportunities, such as fundraising events, celebrations, and so on.
• Generating reports on the team’s KPIs across all digital platforms, helping to improve user journeys across our digital platforms.
• Keeping communications and fundraising systems running smoothly, including the media library, filing systems, budget, and planning and reporting processes.

Person Specification

Job Description

Communications:     

• Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues
• Develop brand identity for Kineara’s new charitable arm, ensuring it is consistent across all activities in the organisation, while maintaining Kineara’s overall ‘look and feel’ to ensure coherence in branding, colours, messaging, style and approach.
• Oversee the creation, development, distribution of compelling, impact-driven story-telling about Kineara’s work and beneficiaries using interviews, blogs, case studies, etc.

Digital CRM Migration Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity with a 12-month fixed term contract where we are looking for an experienced digital marketer who is process and data driven. This role is integral to migrating digital systems and processes to a new CRM database, improving them as we optimise new functionality. This is working as part of a transformational project team to ensure Mencap is set for the future for supporter engagement.

 As the Digital CRM Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for defining digital data points and mapping digital data flows through to the new CRM and Marketing Cloud. This will mean supporting the CRM steering group in defining digital user journeys and optimising the configuration of our new CRM and Marketing Cloud to ensure we optimise their functionality to ultimately raise vital funds and mobilise key audiences to support people with a learning disability.

JOB PURPOSE

This role will support the planning and delivery of digital projects and campaigns that aim to raise awareness of the Start Network, build engagement across membership and support the Start team to work in effective ways. The postholder will create, edit and share digital content, manage online communities and will support the planning, development, maintenance and management of digital platforms.

The post-holder will produce and edit a wide range of digital content, including written content and digital media. The post-holder will also support the day-to-day engagement of stakeholders on digital platforms, such as social media, collaboration platforms and other engagement tools. The post-holder will have a good knowledge of best practise in digital while being able to use data to evidence the effectiveness of content and campaigns.

The post-holder will also manage or support new digital developments, such as data visualisation, that will increase stakeholder engagement in our work. Working closely with stakeholders and colleagues, the post holder will support projects to ensure they meet business and audience needs and that they are delivered on time and on budget.

This role will also coordinate third party suppliers in this process.

This role will be full time, based in the UK or another country of Start Network’s operations with occasional travel required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

COMMUNITIES AND CONTENT

• Coordinate the day-to-day communications of Start Network programmes on social media channels. Take part in planning and coordination of content for all social media channels, in line with digital engagement strategy.

• Create and share multimedia content for social media and website (such as gifs, images and video) to build engagement with audiences around the world. Collaborate with Graphic Designer, Communications Officer and external agencies and freelancers in production of high quality content, in line with Start Network’s brand guidelines.

DIGITAL PLATFORMS AND WEBSITE

• Work together with the Digital Manager to manage the development of digital platforms, working with internal colleagues and external developers to identify and deliver a range of projects.

• Maintain website content day-to-day, publishing news and blogs, resources, events and updating landing pages. Working with teams across the organisation on updating all pages regularly.

• Make changes to the website based on data, audience, (UX) and expert research to improve accessibility, search engine optimisation (SEO) and the overall experience of our users.

• Maintain the Start Network website day-to-day, identifying bugs, escalating internally and working with the developers to deliver solutions. Provide website, social media and newsletter activity reports and statistics and evaluate them in conjunction with the Communications Officer.

• Maintain a Digital Asset Management system Canto; collating and storing photos and sourcing appropriate stock images.

• Support the day-to-day delivery of digital projects fulfilling the organisations communications and digital objectives. These might include development of maps or other data visualisation tools and microsites. 

• Support effective development and use of internal platforms, Including our data management and CRM platform (Salesforce), and document management tool (Box) while maintaining high standards of data security and privacy.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

This role is as maternity cover (9 months with possibility of extension).

This is a full time 5 day (35 hour) a week position, but we are open to a conversation with candidates who are seeking a role of 28-35 hours a week.

About this role

The Digital Acquisition Officer is a key member of the Mass Engagement team and part of the wider Development team. The Mass Engagement team exists to raise awareness of Reprieve’s work, shift public opinion and to inspire support. The Operations Manager is responsible for Dose of Nature’s day-to-day operational management, providing a welcoming and efficient front face and ensuring organisational effectiveness to support the delivery of Dose of Nature’s strategic objectives. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic team player to join our warm and friendly charity team on a full-time basis for a period of one year, with the possibility of a part-time position thereafter. Dose of Nature is in an exciting phase as we continue to receive greater funding to expand our reach. The nature of the job responsibilities may require occasional flexible hours, including some evening and weekend hours up to 6 times per year, or adjusted beginning and ending times, for example to support with monthly evening training sessions. 

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature. We deliver ‘nature prescriptions’ to people referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Our Dose of Nature Prescription Programme is overseen by psychologists and is a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions. Through a combination of education, first-hand experience, and practical and motivational support, we aim to encourage a greater connection with nature, and inspire lifestyle changes that will have a significant and lasting impact on mental wellbeing. Dose of Nature is a fun, supportive and lively organisation that encourages creativity and independence, as well as a strong sense of working together as a team. 

The role is 37.5 hours per week and will involve working at Pensford Field, Kew, Monday to Wednesday from 9am-5:30pm and from home Thursday and Friday 9-5:30pm. 

The details listed below set out the main responsibilities and duties of the post, but are neither exhaustive nor exclusive and the postholder may be required to undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected of an employee of this grade. 

Key responsibilities and duties 

• To oversee the smooth running of the studio and field, ensuring Dose of Nature’s operational systems, processes and policies are fit-for-purpose, compliant with current legal requirements and are maintained effectively and efficiently. 

• To be the initial point of contact for all enquiries, responding quickly and efficiently to requests for information and other enquiries from a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, volunteer guides and trustees, health professionals, supporters, media, and academic institutions. 

• To be the main point of contact for volunteer guides; leading all aspects of the recruitment and induction process with the support from our Senior Administrator; and providing guidance and support to existing guides – including management of the on-going training programme. 

• To manage the programme of regular group sessions – ensuring volunteer group leaders and participants have the support they need so the sessions run smoothly; ensuring volunteer group leaders and participants have the support they need so the sessions run smoothly; ensuring dedicated support is in place for each group and proactively managing the seasonal timetable. 

• To assist the team in monitoring performance, including preparing internal and external performance reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. 

• To manage and oversee the booking system for all client appointments and to support psychologists as appropriate. 

• To manage communication and marketing materials, including maintenance of website, developing and updating printed materials including promotional leaflets, training booklets, and weekly timetable communication emails and bi-annual newsletters. Work with Senior Administrator to distribute regular communications and materials and to maintain a dynamic collection of digital copy including photos, videos and media footage. 

• To lead community relationship building for Dose of Nature, to include attending promotional and networking events from time to time. 

• To assist the Chief Executive in the implementation and continued development of the Growth Strategy, including providing regular updates to trustees. 

• To manage the internship and work experience programmes – overseeing recruitment, giving clear guidance on standards and day-to-day management support. 

• To ensure statutory compliance with Health and Safety legislation – conducting risk assessments, monitoring performance and reviewing procedures. 

• To plan and coordinate regular Dose of Nature community social events, including two half day events and monthly evening events and AGM. 

• To monitor monthly spend and budgets including payment of expenses and incoming donations. 

Person specification 

Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent 

Preferred experience (please see * below): 

• Experience of setting-up and managing operational systems and processes 

• Experiencing of collating, recording and presenting performance data 

• Experience of working with vulnerable people 

• Fluent English speaker (required) 

• Driving licence (essential). 

Skills: 

• Strong organisational and project management skills – efficient, well-organised, able to prioritise and find practical solutions to issues. 

• Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing – able to present complex information in a concise and accessible manner; write letters and emails; write promotional material; collate reports; proof read. 

• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and always be helpful. 

• Confident and polite telephone manner, capable of handling client and supplier interactions professionally. 

• Organised and methodical approach to planning and delivery, able to work under own initiative and manage competing priorities 

• Good level of IT literacy and competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word), CRMs, and mobile devices; experience of setting up new systems and processes; competent in data analysis; keen eye for detail. 

• High level relationship building and influencing skills – engaging and confident communication style. 

• Integrity and experience of dealing appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.

As Supporter Engagement Officer you’ll play a key role in helping us to engage new and existing supporters as well as helping to deliver first-class stewardship to retain support and build trust. In addition you will develop appeals and communications that engage and inform supporters which help to raise more voluntary income.

Directly supporting the Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager and working closely with all of the Supporter Engagement team it would be beneficial if you have previous experience or an interest in Fundraising. Being a confident communicator with a “can-do” approach is essential as well as being able to demonstrate proven administrative skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and be highly organised.

We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are contractually required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month.

Some roles may be required to be in the office more often than others and this will be agreed with the hiring manager upon starting at Turn2us.
