Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.
The successful candidate willdeliver a high-quality service to young people aged 16–17 and their families across Hertfordshire, working alongside the Family Link Work and Mediation services to prevent family breakdown and reduce repeat homelessness. They will also support the wider team and work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the service achieves its key performance indicators (KPIs).
What will you be doing?
Lead the hyh Hub, overseeing its day-to-day operations and ensuring the effective delivery of services. The Hub acts as a gateway for young people aged 16–17 to access hyh’s prevention services. In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and commissioners, while supporting the recruitment, training, and professional development of Advice & Information and Admin Workers. You will also monitor outcomes and produce reports for the leadership team and funders to demonstrate impact and inform future service development.

It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day. So some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. Our full time hours are 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

About the role

Crisis at Christmas is our unique event, with centres across Britain offering people experiencing homeless food, clothing, advice and support with health, housing, employment and benefits, as well as a safe space to stay at an extremely challenging time of year.
Our Christmas Case Management Team work across the Crisis at Christmas services in London. We provide support to guests of Christmas experiencing homelessness and who lack support from other services. We continue this support into the year after Christmas and we take further referrals throughout the year from partner agencies.
We prioritise building meaningful relationships and work with people to identify what works for them. Our approach is developed from trauma informed, strengths-based and intensive case management approaches and we deliver this through an outreach-based service, working across the London boroughs.
About you
We are looking for an experienced, skilled and driven person to join the Case Management Team as a Case Manager. In this key role, you will support a caseload of people experiencing homelessness. You will ensure the accuracy of records and data, compile reports which evidence our impact, oversee financial systems and support the mapping of services across London reporting. The role also provides opportunity to supervise volunteers, collect feedback from members, and support the team manager with service development.
You will receive support with training, regular supervision, and professional development. Crisis is an innovative and multi-faceted organisation and there are many internal opportunities to get involved with as well. About you

What you’ll be doing
As a Programme Manager, based primarily within the Education team you will also be responsible for leading on the delivery of a range of funded partner projects. Working with colleagues across teams, you will support funding bids for new education and social impact based projects. We are looking for a Policy Manager to join our dynamic and well-respected policy team. Our team’s mission is to ensure people affected by dementia benefit from the progress in research, by providing evidence and insights to influence decision-makers. This ranges from making the case to increase investment in dementia research, promoting the concept of good Brain Health to reduce the risk of developing dementia through to preparing health systems to be ready for future dementia treatments.
Policy and Public Affairs team encourages creativity and new ways of doing things. The post holder will have opportunities to take initiative and work on projects that take the charity in new directions. The postholder will report to the Head of Policy (Access and Innovation), working across the wider Policy and Public Affairs team. The team takes a matrix approach to our work, using the skills and expertise across the team to maximise impact of a project. The role is based near Cambridge and will include work in London and elsewhere in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio
As an agile organisation the portfolio of the team is constantly evolving. Currently focus areas for the role will be :
· Increase government investment in dementia research, working with Alzheimer’s Research UK’s research team to articulate priorities for spending and ensure we have robust policy proposals which government can implement. There will be a particular focus on clinical trial infrastructure and recruiting a more diverse range of participants in research
· Clinical engagement, by managing and growing our clinical engagement activities and the planning of our annual clinical conference.
· Strengthening the team’s patient and public involvement and engagement work. This will involve champion PPI across the wider team, managing our current public and patient forums and leading a programme of work to ensure our engagement is innovative and sector leading.
· Leading work to ensure our Stats Hub is accurate, timely and best supports our policy and data analysis work.
Policy development
· To develop and manage programmes of work on key strategic policy areas that position ARUK as a key influencer both nationally and internationally. This may include the commissioning of external evidence generation.
· Provide expertise on the relevant evidence, insight and policy context to enable the development of new innovative policy ideas and solutions that deliver on our strategic priorities.
· Manage the development of substantial and credible policy outputs, including briefings, reports, submissions to government departments and their agencies, parliamentary committees, and other UK and international organisations as appropriate.
· Working with the communications team to ensure our policy work is disseminated to our key audiences via a range of appropriate channels in order to maximise our reach and impact.
· Develop and maintain mechanisms to keep abreast of the policy environment relevant to the portfolio of the post.

You’ll start at our entry point salary of £44,339 per annum, increasing to £47,110 after 6 months service and satisfactory performance and to £49,881 after a further 6 months.

As Project Manager within the transformation programme team, you’ll take the lead on delivering a key strategic project – ensuring it is well-scoped, carefully planned, and delivered on time, on budget, and in line with its intended benefits.
Beyond leading your assigned project, you’ll play an important role in supporting effective resource and dependency management across the wider programme. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues to coordinate delivery, align priorities, and ensure interdependencies are actively managed.
You’ll also be part of a team that’s shaping how we deliver change across the organisation – championing best practice in project management, encouraging cross-functional working, and contributing to continuous improvement as we build a stronger, more agile MS Society.
We are looking for someone with
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, including budget management of over £250k
- Experience of leading project delivery teams
- Skilled in working across cross-functional teams to align around shared goals
- Proficient in both waterfall and agile project management methodologies, with the ability to apply a blended approach
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, build trust, and maintain effective relationships
- Strong problem-solving, planning, prioritisation, and time management abilities
- Confident in assessing risks and issues accurately and taking appropriate action
- Knowledge of data platforms and CRM technologies is desirable
