Our Finance Team is expanding and we have an exciting opportunity available for a Management Accountant! You will be part of our finance team and will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, assisting annual budgeting and restricted funding income. This is to provide support in decision making across relevant areas of the organisation and to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of what we do to support other functions in driving efficiencies and reducing costs.

You will report into the Financial Controller and will work as part of a team alongside our experienced and knowledgeable Finance Business Partners.

Title: Management Accountant

Salary: £47,397 per year FTE 

Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Based in London but with extremely flexible home-working available in line with Crisis’ Hybrid Working policy

About the role

As management accountant, you will –

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts for the organisation
• Assist forecasts and budgets in liaison with the Finance Business Partners and budget managers providing support and advice for new projects/contracts when required. Applicants will need a keen eye for detail!
• Manage and plan restricted funding ensuring funds are spent in accordance with supporter requirements.
• Assist in year-end statutory audit process

About you

To be successful in this role you will have ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent CCAB recognised accounting qualification, or working towards such a qualification, or can demonstrate being qualified by experience. The ideal candidate for this role will

• Be a self-starter with an excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide industry-leading customer service to all internal and external customers.
• Have strong interpersonal skills are required to liaise confidently with other parts of the Business 
• Have an inquiring and analytical mind, and be able to demonstrate good attention to detail

Skills and experience:

· Extensive professional use of social media and online platforms

· Extensive professional use of CMS (e.g. WordPress)

· A passion for digital marketing and the ways it can be used to achieve organisational objectives

· Copywriting experience for online marketing and communications, with the ability to share examples of work that has successfully engaged a target audience and provoked action

Job Title: Counselling Support and Development Manager

Responsible to: Head of Counselling

What are we looking for?

Sue Lambert Trust are looking for a resilient and experienced  counsellor ready to take on the challenge of a leadership and management role within an organisation passionate about offering a kind, safe and supportive therapeutic service to survivors of sexual abuse and violence. In this role you would be responsible for the professional development of our team of counsellors as well as supporting both trainee and experienced counsellors in their work with us.  

Background Information:

Sue Lambert Trust provides kind, safe, supportive help for people who have experienced sexual or domestic abuse at some point in their lives.

We provide free, specialist support that enables people to recover, heal and build resilience to face the future. Our support is organized around a three-phased trauma informed approach.

Phase One Groundwork is designed to support clients with practical issues as well as providing stabilisation in preparation for counselling. Around 200 clients per year access this service.

Phase Two Counselling is the core provision and is delivered by 50+ trained counsellor volunteers working with around 300 clients weekly.

Phase Three aims to build resilience and includes interventions such as self-help groups.

We are funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioners Office, Ministry of Justice, National Lottery and several local and national Trusts and Foundations.

With the launch of a new strategy to guide us through to 2026 it is an opportune time to be joining an organization that is ambitious in its support for its clients.

Job Title:Counselling Support and Development Manager

Responsible to: Head of Counselling

Job purpose:

1. To ensure that all counsellors and staff are provided with the skills and knowledge to deliver and develop Sue Lambert Trust services.
2. To support the Head of Counselling to manage a team of staff and counsellors in delivering effective, safe and quality counselling and other appropriate therapeutic services.           
3. To support the Head of Counselling in the development of clinical services, and work collaboratively with the Service Support and Development Manager to implement Trauma Informed Practices (TIP)
4. To support the Head of Counselling in creating a safeguarding culture throughout the organisation.

Main responsibilities:

Operational Delivery

1. To develop and lead a needs-based plan for the learning and development of the counselling team aligned with Sue Lambert Trust strategy.

2. To organise and manage trainee counsellor placements, working in partnership with counsellor training providers to support and develop trainees in their ongoing training.

3. To act as the Senior Counselling Lead for all trainee counsellors, undertaking case management monthly

4. To work collaboratively to develop and support the implementation of consistent working practices across our sites with a focus on our Great Yarmouth office.

5. To lead on the development and training of a dedicated team of EMDR practitioners.

6. To act as one of the designated safeguarding leads within the organisation, providing support to Senior Counselling Leads and counsellors

7. To deputise for the Head of Counselling as and when required

Service Delivery

1. To provide one to one counselling and other therapeutic services as appropriate in line with the policies and requirements of the organisation

2. To ensure a skilled clinical team can deliver initial assessments, review and top-up calls, effective allocations, and any other services as directed.

3. To line manage the Senior Counselling Leads based in Great Yarmouth

4. To lead on best practice in clinical service delivery as outlined by BACP guidelines and statutory and regulatory requirements throughout the organisation.

5. To liaise where necessary and appropriate with external supervisors to support counsellors and clients.

Service Development

1. To ensure the clinical team collect client outcome measures and experience of service feedback to inform the ongoing development of the organisation.

2. To lead on recruiting, interviewing, inducting, and training new volunteers and trainees

3. To lead on clinical development within the counselling management team working alongside the Service Support and Development Manager to ensure quality of policies and procedures is client centred and trauma aware.

4. To lead on the development of our services ensuring they are accessible to all our users, monitoring and implementing practices that reflect our ongoing commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

5. To champion developmental change in our service delivery and provide support and training to enable this

Other Duties

1. To maintain a physical presence across our offices, working to a flexible principle of a 60/40 split between Great Yarmouth (60%) and Norwich (40%)

PERSON SPECIFICATION – Counselling Support and Development Manager

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Diploma level qualification in counselling

2. Minimum 450 hours clinically supervised counselling experience

3. Achieved or working towards BACP accreditation.

Skills/knowledge required:

1. Experience of planning and implementing a needs-based training and development programme for a team

2. Experience of working and understanding the needs of trainee’s and volunteers within a service

3. Experience of working in a client focussed multi disciplinary service

4. Experience of implementing quality standards and training across teams of staff, volunteers and trainees.

The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across the Midlands.

We commission original research and publish training resources that challenge misconceptions and deepen understanding around the death penalty.

We engage with governments, policymakers, and other key stakeholders in a constructive dialogue on how abolition of the death penalty can be achieved.

The Role:

Reports to: Deputy Director

Duration of contract: Permanent, subject to a three-month probationary period

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week. DPP are open to flexible working requests.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage the coordination of ongoing project activities, including the commissioning and publishing of research, training and capacity building plans, and advocacy and engagement efforts.
• Manage donor-funded grants, to ensure agreed objectives and deadlines are met.
• Produce high-quality narrative reports to funders in line with donor requirements, and coordinate with the Deputy Director for the development of accurate donor financial reports.
• Produce and maintain up-to-date project documents and tools, such as project delivery workplans and country information sheets.
• Draft other documents as required, such as briefing notes, memoranda and/or letters for advocacy and engagement efforts.
• Develop and maintain DPP’s monitoring and evaluation system, effectively tracking progress against organisational and project indicators, and developing and implementing project monitoring and evaluation tools.
• Maintain active relationships with project partners involved in research, capacity building and/or engagement activities, as well as manage any contracts for services that may be required for the delivery of projects, such as audits or evaluations.
• Identify, manage and / or escalate any risks or issues that may arise in relation to effective and timely project delivery (including reputational, operational, financial, or other risks).
• Keep up to date on relevant political developments in our priority geographies and brief other members of the team as needed.
• Proactively develop ideas for project activities that advance DPP’s mission and strategy in our priority geographies.
• Work closely with Communications colleagues to develop and feature impact data and stories that highlight our research, capacity building, and advocacy work on DPP’s website and social media.
• Contribute to the drafting of concept notes, project proposals or other funding applications, where needed.
• Provide line management and support to project interns and volunteers, when applicable.

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential:

• At least five years of relevant experience in the non-profit and / or human rights sector
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a strong track record of producing high quality donor reports and/or briefing documents
• Experience managing logframes and/or other monitoring and evaluation frameworks
• Experience managing EU and/or FCDO-funded projects, or similar
• A self-starter that enjoys working in a small team, with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines, and with a range of responsibilities
• A strong interest in human rights issues related to The Death Penalty Project’s work
• Permission to live and work in the UK

Desirable:

• Knowledge and understanding of international human rights law and related issues, or strong desire to learn
• Knowledge of the UN system, for example the workings of the Human Rights Council
