The primary purpose of this role is to design, develop, and implement a comprehensive continuum of care, supporting young people in our local community who have had a more challenging start in life. This role will be paramount in enabling these young people to ‘discover who they are and what they can become’.
As a proactive member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role is also responsible for the development of an organisational culture that puts our Mission Statement, Purpose, Values and Christian Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility at the heart of all we do.
The role will focus on providing an outstanding environment for children to thrive in whilst ensuring that we are compliant with OFSTED and other regulatory bodies. You will also demonstrate expertise in Safeguarding and be able to lead the growth of the provision.
You will be responsible for creating and implementing the strategic direction, financial sustainability and leadership framework for the children’s residential service and to maintain the operational overview of service delivery and service improvements.
You will oversee and project manage the sourcing and registration of new homes and services, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise efficient use of resources and develop a sustainable business plan and business model which reflect the strategic objectives in relation to the children’s residential homes service.
You will work with the Head of Children’s Residential Services to develop a workforce development plan that promotes effective recruitment of a skilled workforce, enables existing staff to develop additional skills to support the service growth, enables internal promotion, and engages staff to sustain the longevity of employment.
You will be instrumental to the development and growth of our service and help realise the positive ambitions we have to make a difference every day to the lives of the children and young people in our care.
With extensive experience of children's residential care, you will have experience of the day to day operations and the strategic overview to drive growth. You will be able to share your success where you have opened and expanded services and also be able to highlight to us you experience of sourcing and securing funding streams and all that entails.
You will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills; whether interacting with one of our young people, a member of staff or a member of our Board, you will act with professionalism and kindness; your ability to inspire and motivate will be a key asset and you will create a culture of team work and technical excellence within your service.
In line with our members of our Executive Leadership Team, we would look for you to a hold an MBA or equivalent business management qualification to be willing to undertake one with our support.

As National Support Coordinator you will provide support to our members living with a rare neuromuscular condition, myasthenia, their families, and carers. Our client has an exciting new opportunity to join their diverse and values led organisation as a Night Porter at their Young People’s housing service.
It is a busy and dynamic supported housing service for young people aged 16 – 21 years. Commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council, they offer a high quality, strengths based support service which aims to build the skills, confidence and independence of the young people who come through their doors.
The Role
As their Night Porter, you will undertake a varied range of tasks on the night shift and not one shift is the same as you will be involved in directly responding and helping young people with any issues or concerns they may have, whilst also managing the site, conducting safety checks and operating surveillance of the building. Other duties may include but are not limited to:
- Booking residents and visitors in and out of the building and log all relevant information.
- Logging all complaints, accidents, potential risks, and incidents of anti-social behaviour in accordance with policies and procedures
- Keeping a day-to-day log of events and happenings when on duty and ensure effective handover of information to relevant staff.
- Conducting regular security checks including fire alarm, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers and report any concerns.
About you:
You will be compassionate, resilient and have the skills to de-escalate potential incidents through your fantastic communication skills. You will need to be able to confidently diffuse difficult situations which may arise as a result of tension or disagreements between young people, and be understanding of the needs of people from diverse social, cultural and racial backgrounds.
Although training will be provided, you must be comfortable with lone working and using your own initiative. It is beneficial if you have an understanding of professional boundaries working with a vulnerable client group and/or experience of working with a vulnerable client group. A basic level of literacy and numeracy is essential as well as caring for the safety and wellbeing of young people.
Working times:
The service operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year including bank holidays and weekends. Staff will be required to work 37 hours including weekends across 4 shifts. 8:45pm -7am

Through the partnership of Macmillan Cancer Support, Self Help UK and the Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System, the Macmillan Beyond Dagnosis service delivers support for people affected by cancer, as well as facilitated access to voluntary and community sector cancer specific support and wellbeing interventions across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Support and interventions will be identified using electronic health needs assessments (eHNA’s) and personalised care and support planning. The aim of the service is to provide an improved experience for patients beyond their interactions with clinical services by contributing to the overall holistic approach to supporting people living with and beyond cancer. You will work in partnership with GP surgeries to give non-medical support that maximises patients’ wellbeing through their Cancer journey. The primary role is to do Cancer Care Reviews, with access to each surgery’s IT systems to track patient lists, document, and communicate with practice staff. This role will involve liaising with services from within the NHS structure as well as external services, so you will need to be skilled in navigating intricate processes and organisational structures from both the inside and the outside. You will also help with improving screening uptake and community engagement, building relationships with local services and groups to further enhance the support.
