About the role:

Due to the requirements of the role, you will be required to work from the Southampton office for all shifts.

As a Triage & Early Interventions Officer Assistant you will:

• Assist the caseworker in answering the telephone and contacting clients as required
• Update and maintain manual and computerised database and case management systems and records in accordance with the service's internal policies/procedures and organisational standards
• Assist the caseworker with navigation around the building, including greeting outside the entrance and escorting to desk.
• Communicate with victim's in a written format, including text, email and letter under the guidance of the caseworker.
• Assist with the care and support of the guide dog assigned to support the caseworker

You will need:

• Effective verbal/written communication and numerical skills.
• Excellent IT skills and experience of using all packages in the standard Microsoft Office suite and case management systems/databases.
• Excellent record keeping skills with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Experience of working in a client focused service area or setting.
• Understanding and knowledge of equal opportunities and diversity

About Shooting Star Children’s Hospices

We have an exciting opportunity for a family support to join our Family Support Team at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or whose child has died. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, we support families across Surrey, north-west London and south-west London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

About the role

Family Support Workers (FSW) are the frontline of our psychosocial care. Each FSW holds a caseload of end-of-life and bereaved families. They get to know their families, and check-in regularly with phone calls and home visits and can provide enhanced emotional support where required through more regular contact and interventions. Our FSWs inform families about the different psychosocial care and many services they can access at Shooting Star, assess their needs and make recommendations to our specialist psychosocial MDT. They work hard to support families of different ethnicities and families living in poverty, so that our service is as equitable as possible.

Our FSWs work closely with our Therapists, Counsellors, Social Workers, Transition Team and our Care Events Team. Weekly specialist psychosocial MDT meetings bring the team together to think of ways to help families in crisis. The work is varied and creative, taking place at the hospices, in family homes and hospitals, allowing the support to be where the families need it. Our Family Support Workers are hugely appreciated by the families we support.

The ambition of our strategy is to ensure every family affected by a life-limiting condition, or the sudden death of a child, has access to the specialist care that they need. Day to day duties are:

• Being part of the duty rota over both sites monitoring 3 email inboxes and answering the Family Support Line.
• Supporting the events team with admin tasks and attending various events
• Providing on the spot emotional support, sometimes in a crisis where a calm and empathic response is required.
• Support the in-house team with families staying at Christopher’s for assessed nights and end of life care.
• Attend various sites over the course of a week, hospice, hospital, family homes. Planning your own diary effectively.
• Building connections with families from different backgrounds, delivering culturally competent care.
• Acting as an ambassador for Shooting Star’s Specialist Bereavement Service, supporting other care team members with their learning and delivery of the bereavement pathway, and continually seeking ways to improve quality.

About you

This role requires experience of working with children and families who have experienced hardship, presenting with complex needs. You should have a calm positive manner, be consistent in your approach, and convey empathy whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

Job Title: Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Duty IGVA)

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Duty Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to be the first point of contact for women who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support to survivors all risk levels and their children..

In this role you will be part of a busy team. You will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre. The duty IGVA will be responding to daily enquiries (specify from whom- public, agencies, individuals? over the phone and email as well as contacting survivors, assessing their risks and needs.

The duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs and will ensure an effective handover to the over to the relevant GAIA team for ongoing support. The post holder will also empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. You will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

About the role:

We are looking for a Caseworker, to cover Wyre Fylde Lancaster and surrounding areas. You will be working primarily in targeted schools across your area and therefore this role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. • You will have a thorough understanding of the impact of Domestic Abuse on children and young people.

Our Community Crisis Cafes offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis.

About the Role

This will involve working with service users in a preventative way, assessing needs, deescalating crisis, offering coping strategies, signposting to other services and ensuring they feel supported, through the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing.

Staff will work with a team of Crisis Recovery Workers & volunteers and will, at times, involve working out of the MK Hospital, at Eaglestone Centre, alongside the CNWL NHS team manning 111 option 2 calls and managing referrals.

Service Delivery

• Deliver crisis focussed 1:1s and ensure outcomes which supports individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in Houghton Regis & Central Bedfordshire, in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed crisis service and requirements as well as contract requirements.
• Assessing need and suitability for the service in line with the access to services process, and undertaking 1:1s.
• Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
• Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.

We are looking to recruit a Team Leader to lead a team of staff for our outreach service in Cannock which provides support for people with a learning disability and who may have other support needs. As a Team Leader you will assist the Area Manager and the rest of the senior team, to ensure that the service is of the highest quality, meeting all CQC standards and contract requirements. You will ensure that the service works in a cohesive and coordinated manner and that service users experience fully integrated care, support and housing. You will ensure that the care and support delivered is personalized and provided in accordance with agreed care plans, enabling service users to enjoy wellbeing, quality of life and community connections. You will promote and reinforce a culture of responsive, person-centred practice and active support across the service, with relationships based on respect and unconditional positive regard. Your work will be a mixture of doing shifts on the rota and management days and you will be required to work across the entire week, including evenings and weekends.

We also value staff members and acknowledge good leadership is key to this, we are looking to appoint someone with the right skills and ability to join our team and help to continue this aim. 

A minimum of two years managerial experience and prior experience of supporting people with a learning disability and a forensic history and/or autism who have complex needs is essential. It is also essential to have strong values, emotional intelligence and good problem-solving skills. It is essential that you have the ability to work collaboratively in order to achieve positive outcomes. You will also have relevant experience in implementing Positive Behavioral Support and positive risk management approaches. You must demonstrate excellent assessment, support planning and report writing skills.

Quantitative Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills, including experience working with survey data and large complex datasets, performing statistical analysis, and using tools such as Stata, R, SPSS, Microsoft Excel, or Power BI.

Project Management: Ability to effectively manage multiple research projects, timelines, and stakeholders, ensuring deliverables are met efficiently.

Research Coordination & Management: Experience designing and managing large-scale applied heath research studies (both qualitative and quantitative), including ethical approvals, data collection, and quality control.

Communication & Dissemination: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience translating research findings into actionable insights through reports, presentations, and data visualizations, including with the ability to convey complex concepts in plain English to non-technical audiences.  Data Storytelling: Skill in translating complex data analyses into clear, compelling narratives for various audiences.

Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including country program staff, researchers, and external partners, to drive evidence-based decision-making. Experience with project management or cross-functional (matrix) team working is desirable.

Attention to Detail: Experience ensuring high standards in research design, data collection, and analysis, with a commitment to ethical research practices.
