Our Camden Housing First and Health team is offering an exciting apprenticeship that places you at the centre of meaningful change for people experiencing homelessness in London. As a Health and Wellbeing Apprentice, you will work closely with our dedicated health leads to support residents who face barriers in accessing care, helping them take positive steps towards healthier and more independent lives. Whether it’s accompanying clients to appointments, recording important data, assisting with administrative tasks, or helping to deliver creative and engaging health events, you’ll play a hands on role in breaking down obstacles and opening doors to better health and wellbeing. The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced healthcare profession/health related professional to join our existing team of Wellbeing Consultants embedded within established UK GenesisCare cancer treatment centres.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with patients, relatives, GenesisCare staff team and Wellbeing consultant team and the wider Penny Brohn UK organization. We are looking for a professional who can work in a flexible, proactive, intelligent, and creative way. Candidates should have experience of working within private or national health related services and have knowledge, experience/understanding of complementary therapies or other support services.

Key role considerations

• This role will involve working alongside our partner GenesisCare to ensure a holistic approach is taken in aspects of support and treatment.
• The bulk of the patient work is delivery of one-to-one sessions – completing holistic needs assessments, review appointments, consultations, mindfulness, and relaxation sessions.
• The Wellbeing Consultant is responsible for ensuring that patients and their relatives have a positive experience as they move through the Penny Brohn UK treatment support services at GenesisCare.

Job Role:

Team Leaders at the Centre are responsible for the day-to-day delivery by their respective team. This role will contribute to and support the Delivery Manager to achieve the overall objective of the Centre, which is to deliver services that enable our community to thrive.

The Team Leader – Energy and Financial Wellbeing will line manage a number of Advisor and Caseworkers and ensure that they deliver our services effectively and in line with our ambition. Beyond these management responsibilities, they will also engage in front-line delivery within this area. The split between front-line delivery and line management for this role will be agreed with the Delivery Manager, but we expect it to be around 50%-line management and 50% front-line delivery. Centre 33’s Wellbeing team offer a diverse support offer to (primarily) young people aged 13-25 and founded in the principles of low intensity CBT (Guided Self Help). Working closely alongside other Centre 33 services, the team are responsible for the delivery of interventions via the Guided Self Help pathway, to young people who have self-referred or consented to a parent/professional referral to address early emerging mental health difficulties such as low mood and anxiety. In addition, the team apply creative approaches to create, adapt and share evidenced based GSH materials that are shared via one off sessions, workshops, training and events. The team design psychoeducational and wellbeing strategy- based resources for use both internally (social media campaigns and website) and externally (eg. schools). The Wellbeing team consists of a blend of Senior CWP, Qualified CWPs and Trainee CWPs.

As a non- statutory service, our inclusion offer for Guided Self Help may vary from other/statutory services. We are excited to offer trainee positions within the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). The post-holders will work within OTR as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering brief, focused, evidence-based psychological interventions in the form of low-intensity support and guided self-help to young people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience whilst also completing a Graduate or Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Therapies Practice (Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Children, Young People and Families) delivered by the University of Exeter.

The post holders will attend all university-based teaching and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed curriculum, and work within OTR services for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.

We welcome applications from highly motivated and resourceful individuals who are keen to work as part of a dynamic and creative team. All applicants must have the ability to study at degree level, have experience in and be passionate about working with children and young people and will be able to work with the demands of coordinating clinical work with the academic requirements of the course.

The Wise Group is a leading social enterprise working to lift people out of poverty.  St Giles and The Wise Group came together to form a partnership with the aim of supporting the Probation Resettlement reforms by offering a high-quality service underpinned by staff who have lived experience and cultural competency.  As a result, we have been awarded contracts to deliver Personal Wellbeing Services for North and South Wales. These services will involve a range of support to community offenders and prison leavers including families, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle and associates and social inclusion (including meet at the gates).

About this exciting opportunity

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.  You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales.  Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
• L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent
• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
• An ability to work sensitively with clients applying trauma-informed strategies
•  Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written

We are offering a rewarding opportunity within our Arun, Worthing and Adur team to provide a range of services which aim to make a difference to family and friend carers. The focus will be on Arun District.

Carer Wellbeing Workers provide invaluable services to help improve carers’ resilience and ensure they are supported to maintain their caring roles. They provide tailored information and advice, practical, emotional and planning support, peer opportunities, contingency planning, active listening and through partnership working are pro-active in the identification of carers.

Using experience of working with adults and families, a working knowledge and / or lived experience of social care and health, the post holder will use excellent communication and interpersonal skills to offer carers one-to-one and group support either face to face, via the telephone or using virtual video mediums such as Zoom or MS Teams.  

The role is a mix of remote / homeworking and community venues. You will be expected to be readily able to travel across Arun to deliver carer support and on occasion to venues in Worthing and Adur and across the County to attend meetings and training as required.

Key Responsibilities Summary

• Carer Support: Deliver personalised support through various channels (in-person, online, phone, 1-to-1, and group) across Arun, Worthing and Adur, with a focus on carers in Arun District, including those from under-represented communities.
