About the role

Steps to Success

CXK delivers the Steps to Success programme across East Sussex, in partnership with East Sussex County Council.  

Funded by the Careers Enterprise Company, this exciting project delivers a tested model across secondary schools, supporting young people in year 11 to achieve successful post 16 pathways.

The Team

The Project Coach will be based within CXK’s Youth Employability Service (YES) and will undertake regular careers-based interventions with young people, supporting them to understand their options and take steps toward achieving their goals around education, training and /or future employment. The coaches’ approach is focused, creative and persistent, building on young peoples’ confidence and motivation alongside their skills and personal growth.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Project Coach.

You will support a caseload of young people in Year 11, seeing them in their school setting or in the community if they are not attending school. Working across the East of the county, with schools and FE Colleges you will play a key role in ensuring that young people receive the tailored guidance and support they need to progress confidently into further education, training, or employment. You will build positive working relationships through co-located working, and accurate input into relevant databases.

You will maintain regular contact with the young people you support, building trust and ensuring that casework is delivered with care and consistency. Your role will involve assessing needs, action planning, reviewing progress, and adapting support as required.  Also supporting parents/carers to be aware of their young person’s next steps and the opportunities available.

About You

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with young people, especially SEND and Risk of NEET young people, who understands the post-16 education and training landscape and the importance of person-centred support. You will be a confident communicator and collaborator, able to manage your caseload and make a genuine impact on the lives of the young people you support.

Role Overview 

Support Through Sport CIO is seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to deliver our innovative School and Community Navigator programme throughout Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The Senior School and Community Navigator will lead a team of three Navigators across four schools in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The role combines direct support to children and young people aged 10–17 with leadership and coordination responsibilities, ensuring delivery is of the highest standard and in line with Support Through Sport policies and project specifications.

Working closely with schools, families, and local agencies, the Senior Navigator will provide supervision and guidance to staff, build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and ensure effective safeguarding, monitoring, and reporting systems are in place. You will work with young people aged 10–17 in community settings, building trust-based relationships and providing early intervention to reduce risk factors linked to crime, violence, and exploitation.

The role combines youth work, mentoring, and community engagement, supporting young people to tackle challenges such as disengagement in education, substance use, poverty, discrimination, and school exclusion. You will act as an advocate for young people, bridging gaps with the wider community while promoting respect, empowerment, and positive life choices whilst working utilising a child-centred and collaborative approach.

At Support Through Sport, we use a range of creative approaches, including sport as a diversionary tool, to build brighter futures and create safer communities. Flexibility is essential, as sessions may take place during evenings and weekends, in addition to typical school hours. • Deliver: establish and embed the Advice Triage (OFD) model for public launch in March 2026

The Corporate Volunteering Manager plays a central role in this by managing our successful and impactful Corporate Volunteering Programme. Each year through this programme, we train hundreds of volunteers from our corporate partners to visit primary schools and share examples of how maths has helped them as adults, both in their careers and personal lives.

You will work within a residential setting, creating a safe and comfortable space which our residents can call their homes during their time within the service. The role includes:

• Encourage residents to take part in activities and events

Based in a residential service, you’ll support residents with mental health, complex needs, and dual diagnosis. In this role, you’ll use your specialist knowledge to help both residents and the wider team overcome personal challenges. 

You’ll use evidence-based approaches to support recovery, independence, and integration through holistic assessments. As a comorbidity specialist, you’ll guide the team in achieving positive outcomes for residents. Your main duties include:

• Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
• Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
• Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
• Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning.

We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with experience in interventions, and in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have practical experience and relevant qualifications, and be skilled in engaging reluctant individuals. You will work across multiple projects to ensure performance metrics are accurately tracked and communicated, proactively identifying and addressing any data or system related issues. You will support with continuous improvement for the service and wider organisation.

About you

We're looking for someone who is passionate about IT and data, able to utilise this within a practical working environment. You will be confident in using various tools and software with transferrable skills. We're looking for someone who understands SIG and what we do as an organisation, with a judgement free mindset, and comfortable working within any of our services, able to build good professional relationships with our staff internally, our residents, and external partners. We look for:

• Skills in data input, extraction, and reporting
• Skills in online platforms and systems, ideally Power BI, Trello, Inform, and Microsoft Office
• Familiarity in externally used systems by Ministry of Justice is highly desirable
• Ability to translate and present technical knowledge and information to non-technical teams
• Ability to deliver training to staff at all levels in reference to use of systems and develop training videos/materials
• Working knowledge of business intelligence/reporting and database
• Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver a rounded customer service experience both written and orally, and build effective relationships with others at all levels
• Ability to problem solve, use own initiative, and work in a proactive manner
• Ability to manage own time and determine priorities with competing tasks and meet deadlines
