Headway UK developed the Approved Provider Scheme in 2011, which is a voluntary standards-based accreditation, for rehabilitation and residential units for people with a brain injury and we are looking for a new part time team member.

• Location: Preference for Midlands based, either home based or in Headway UK’s office in Nottingham.

Headway UK developed the Approved Provider Scheme in 2011, which is a voluntary standards-based accreditation, for rehabilitation and residential units for people with a brain injury and we are looking for a new part time team member.

By participating in the scheme Approved Provider units affirm their dedication to excellent care, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The accreditation of units is then published for families, individuals and professionals to help inform their choices when identifying suitable provision for brain injury survivors. Our accreditation process is designed to be collaborative and supportive, guiding units through every step towards achieving and maintaining exemplary service standards.

The role will involve, conducting and writing assessments and working with the Approved Provider and Training Manager to manage Lead Assessors, who are based around the UK and the Service User Perspective Assessors, who are either brain injury survivors, or family members/ carers.

What you will do:

• Conduct Approved Provider assessments, which includes going into brain injury residential units and assessing the services they provide and making recommendations, to improve practice against the framework.
• Writing and reviewing reports for Approved Provider units, following assessments, that clearly highlight strengths and areas for development.
• Contributing to the development and growth of Headway UK’s Approved Provider scheme, by continuing to drive forward standards and onboarding new units.
• Working with freelance Lead Assessors and Service User Perspective Assessors (who are brain injury survivors or family members) who are based around the UK, to organise assessments and ensure the schemes standards are upheld.

About you

• Prior experience of working in the field of acquired brain injury.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g. occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, clinical psychology, physiotherapy, nursing, social work).
• Ability to write and moderate written reports of high quality and clarity, to provide accurate and accessible feedback.
• Very good IT skills, including be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams).
• Ability to gain the trust, confidence, and respect at all levels within external organisations and staff groups.
• Be an excellent communicator, with new and existing Approved Provider units.

We deliver essential mental health support in Hertfordshire, providing a diverse range of services from our Wellbeing Centres and other locations across the county. We help individuals experiencing mental ill health to make choices, find their solutions, build resilience and manage their wellbeing. About the role

As HR/People Officer, you will provide high-quality, accurate support across the full employee/volunteer lifecycle, while also contributing to employee and volunteering relations, and continuous improvement of our People & Culture services. You will be a role model for our values and a key contributor to a positive team culture

As HR/People Officer you will be part of a team who support a headcount of approximately 250 employees, 200 volunteers and 150 self-employed individuals across Hertfordshire. You will be instrumental in ensuring that all individuals employed or volunteering within Hertfordshire Mind receive advice, guidance in a responsive, knowledgeable, and customer-focused way.

Key Responsibilities include:

Employee Lifecycle

• Deliver a high-quality, confidential and customer-focused People service from recruitment through to leaving.
• Advise line managers on recruitment; selection, interview and safer recruitment
• Provide People advice for queries from the People & Culture team in line with policies, managing and or escalating complex issues as appropriate.

Systems, Data & Reporting

• Produce timely and accurate People management information to assist organisational decision-making. (ihasco, Breathe, Livepay, Charity log, etc)
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the HR information system (Breathe HR), including new profiles, personal data, annual leave and absence reporting.
• Oversee monthly payroll data collation, including hours, absences, and any contractual changes, ensuring timely submission to Payroll.
• Ensure Breathe annual holiday renewal and other system updates are effectively completed and communicated

Employee Relations & Case Management

• Manage employee relations cases, such as sickness absence, conduct, capability, disciplinary, grievance, family focussed leave, flexible working requests.
• Undertake casework, guiding and advising on relevant procedure including gathering evidence and drafting investigation reports, tracking case progress and ensuring communications and actions are completed.
• Provide consistent and fair advice to managers in accordance with policies, escalating complex issues as appropriate.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to projects such as employee engagement initiatives, policy updates, wellbeing programmes, EDIE (VIBE, Voice, Inclusion, Belonging, Engagement) and system improvements.
• Support quality assurance processes in line with National Mind policies and ISO9001 standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve people processes, recommending and implementing enhancements under the guidance of the People & Culture Director

General Responsibilities

• To support any member of the People and Culture team and to cover team absence as required.
• Note taking for meetings as required
• Promote Hertfordshire Mind services by attending events, campaigns, and open days to raise awareness of mental health.
• Uphold Hertfordshire Mind policies and procedures, including the Equalities Statement.

About the Role

As Member Network Account Manager, you will be the main contact for several Member Networks. This includes advising on governance, finance, volunteer recruitment, events and wider activity planning. About the Role

As a Service Delivery Assistant, you will provide high quality administrative support to the service. You will act as a first point of contact for enquiries into the service and support the wider team with administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upload referrals to our computerised case management system, in accordance with our standards.
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail, telephone and general queries for the service
• Collate and supply information and correspondence to internal and external contacts
• Liaise with referring agencies to improve referral information and support referral pathways.
• Provide general admin support including data entry, minute taking, raising purchase orders and processing invoices.

About the Role

As a Triage & Early Intervention Officer, you will be the first point of contact via telephone, text or email for victims of crime referred to our service. You will conduct comprehensive impact and risk assessments, provide immediate and short-term interventions, and ensure that each service user receives tailored support that meets their individual needs. The role may require some minimal travel across Dyfed Powys.

As a Triage & Early Interventions Officer you will:

• Conduct comprehensive impact & risk assessments
• Provide tailored responses to clients' needs including information about their rights and the services available to them.
• Take incoming calls and deliver support
• Maintain accurate & confidential case management records.
• Work as part of a team & collaborate with statutory & voluntary agencies to address clients' needs.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Procurement Manager to join our Procurement team, to support the Head of Procurement to take the department to the next level.

You will use your commercial focus and expertise to drive best practices in our projects, managing various aspects of spending from RfQs for tail-end to tendering on our eProcurement portal for large project procurements.  You will find yourself constantly challenged to come up with innovative ways of thinking and working closely with stakeholders to lead on procurement understanding, driving value for money, strategic projects and managing the supply chain.

You will get involved in a huge variety of projects, from ICT equipment to Marketing and Events, and everything in-between – this means you’ll need to be dynamic and flexible and able to manage your own time well. Sustainability, Social Value and EDI are important to the Trust as a Charity, and so you will strive to embed this in our supply chain with the key suppliers that we work with.

This is an exciting role that the ideal applicant can really make their own and would suit someone who is a self-starter with energy and drive, and a good background in procurement.

Refugee Resettlement Support Worker

We're looking for a compassionate, proactive and organised Refugee Resettlement Support Worker to join our Resettlement Team and support individuals and families arriving through Government resettlement schemes. The role is predominantly focused on families resettled from Afghanistan, although support may be provided to people arriving through other schemes as well.

What you'll be doing

You'll work directly alongside refugee families as they settle into life in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and wider Dorset, helping them navigate unfamiliar systems, access services and become active members of their new communities.

Your work will include:

• Supporting individuals and families with housing, utilities and practical day-to-day needs
• Helping people access healthcare, education, benefits and other key services
• Supporting access to ESOL classes, volunteering and employment opportunities

The COO will oversee the charity's day-to-day operations, work closely with the CEO to improve organisational systems and processes, manage operational risks, and support the delivery of high-quality frontline, campaigning and convening programmes while fostering a positive and inclusive organisational culture. Alongside the CEO and other team members, the COO is an inspiring leader who champions the charity’s values, elevates its profile, and steers its work to influence national and international policy and advocacy, engage communities, and support survivors of violence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Support the CEO in delivering the charity's strategic plan.

• Translate strategic priorities into operational plans and measurable outcomes.

• Identify opportunities for organisational growth, innovation, and partnerships.

• Contribute to long-term sustainability planning and organisational development.

Operational Management

• Lead the day-to-day operational management of the charity.

• Develop and maintain effective operational policies, procedures, and systems.

• Ensure programmes and services are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard and be an active delivery person for programmes. 

• Manage the resources and visitors of Vavengers HQ and ensure the space is utilised effectively by ambassadors and members of the charity

• Monitor organisational performance and help produce an annual impact report

Governance and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with charity law, employment legislation, safeguarding requirements, data protection regulations, and relevant regulatory standards.

• Support the CEO and the Board of Trustees through timely reporting and implementation of governance decisions.

• Maintain organisational policies and ensure regular review and compliance.

• Oversee organisational risk management and business continuity planning.

Financial Oversight

• Work alongside the CEO and Treasurer to develop and monitor the annual budget and management accounts/cash flow.

• Ensure effective financial controls and value-for-money practices.

• Monitor operational expenditure and resource allocation.

• Actively participate in income-generating activities, including supporting grant applications, other fundraising initiatives, and partnership building.

• Support the CEO and board of trustees to produce annual accounts.

People Leadership

• Act as a key leader for incoming staff members, ambassadors and volunteers.

• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing trauma-informed workplace culture.

• Oversee recruitment, performance management, learning, and staff wellbeing.

• Oversee volunteer and ambassador management

Programme Delivery

• Ensure all programmes achieve planned objectives and demonstrate measurable impact, providing critical support and care to survivors and those at risk.

• Establish systems for monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement.

• Promote innovation and evidence-based practice across all service areas.

• Deliver support hubs in partnership with ambassadors

Partnerships and External Relations

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with funders, local authorities, community organisations, activists, corporate partners, government members and other stakeholders.

• Represent the charity at meetings, conferences, and partnership events as required.

• Support collaborative working across sectors to maximise impact.

Risk Management

• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.

• Ensure appropriate safeguarding, health and safety, and information security practices are maintained.

• Develop and oversee business continuity and crisis management procedures.

• Significant leadership and campaigning experience within the charity, public, or private sector.
