Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing, providing supported living accommodation for young women aged 18-30 in recovery from drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviors.
With training in alternative therapies such as Reiki and Sound Healing, you will support young women to improve their physical and emotional well-being in a group setting or on an individual basis.
Activities
- Delivering Sound Healing sessions in a 1-2-1 or group basis.
- Providing a safe, relaxing, therapeutic environment for the activity to take place.
Experience and requirements:
- Suitable candidates need to be qualified or nearing the end of a substantial training.
- Volunteers may be asked to have professional liability insurance.
- This role will require us to carry out an enhanced check through the disclosure and barring service.
Commitment
Commitment can be flexible to suit your availability, from about 1-2 hours per week. Ideally this volunteer will commit to a minimum of 3 months

We are looking for a friendly barber/haidresser to cut hair once or twice a month in a hostel in Westmintser. The hostel is part of the chairty Single homeless project, where we support people out of the homelessness pathway, into indpendnece and better wellbeing.
When the resident has a haircut as with anyone it can make such a difference to how someone feels about themselves, if you have your own barber tools and are willing to come and cut a few gentlmens hair once or twice a month, it could make such a positive difference for some of the residents, and make them feel better about themselves.

Support our weekly Digital Creative Workshop. Join in with our staff team as we support citizens to unleash creative talents and learn how to make amazing online content for the digital world.
Collaborate with the marketing team: Share content for use in promotional materials, social media, and the website.

Wheels For All is an inclusive cycling project, with adapted cycles that cater for individuals with disabilities for all ages. We offer an accessible and creative way for people and their families to be active together. Role Description:
This role sits within our new mental health Prevention Hub - which is a drop-in service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed, seeking support and advice for their mental health, there and then. This service is a 9 month pilot project and will initially operate 11am-7pm Monday-Friday, however there may be a need to cover weekends/late nights, depending on the need of our clients.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health distress. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate, and provide holistic wellbeing plans.
We are looking for someone who
- Has lived experience of mental health challenges
- Are a non-judgemental and friendly individual
- To be able to provide a welcoming, authentic, and positive experience for all, being inclusive and embracing diversity
- To feel comfortable engaging with people with mental health challenges / difficult life experiences, by validating strengths and experiences and using empowering language to overcome negative self-talk
- Are empathic and understands the stigma / social bias's surrounding mental health
- Are willing to tap into their lived experiences and use their stories to inspire hope in others when appropriate
- Are comfortable with co-producing and co-facilitating peer led workshops
- To assist the Prevention Hub Coordinator with admin and planning
- Are able to take on any ad hoc admin/support responsibilities
Time commitment and expenses:
- Flexible hours between 11am-7pm Monday-Friday. We are looking for someone to commit to a minimum of at least 1 /2 days a week.
- We will provide volunteers with an induction, training, and ongoing mentoring to support them in the role

Living Well Services Complementary Therapies Volunteers
We are looking to increase the LWS activities with a wide range of complementary therapies to include Acupuncture, Reiki, Chiropody and Facials (beauty therapy) to add to our list of Reflexology, Osteopathy, Hypnotherapy and Hand/Foot Massage therapies that is delivered by Volunteers at the Living Well Services.
We know from experience that complementary therapies can help calm emotions, relieve anxiety and increase the general sense of health and wellbeing. We would be asking you to offer the therapy once a week or fortnight depending on your availability.

Many people struggle to enjoy cycling, and some families often find the cost of adapted bikes mean that they cannot share fun times together.
Parkride is a fun and flexible inclusive cycling project using a range of adapted and standard bikes that provides anyone, regardless of age, ability or need, with the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors through cycling.
We require a volunteer van driver to help us deliver our custom-made bikes and trikes to locations such as parks and community centers around the West Midlands.

What would I be doing?
· You will be a vital link between us and the families we support, helping us to get the team and bikes to where they’re needed for arranged sessions.
· You’ll be the friendly face of Parkride, interacting with the families and ensuring the bikes are kept safe and secure whilst the team are out riding.
· Working with staff to load/unload the van before and after sessions.
What do I need?
· Minimum age 25
· Experience of driving a large van with a suitable driving licence
· A full and clean driving licence (held for a minimum of 5 years)
· Some lifting will be required and so a basic level of fitness is needed.
· Being approachable and friendly with good communication skills

· The van is based at our head office in Woodgate Valley – B32 3BZ.
· We have several parkride sessions running throughout the week including evenings and weekends. Sessions vary from 2-4 hours (plus travel).
· We run sessions throughout the Midlands, including Birmingham (all areas), Dudley, Sandwell, Coventry, and Sutton Coldfield. You can choose which sessions you wish to attend.
· All sessions are weather dependent; however, we only cancel sessions in extreme weather. We would advise having a warm waterproof coat and suitable shoes.

To connect people wanting to cycle more with volunteer Bike Buddies who want to help them. We have people from many different backgrounds wanting support with their cycling for many reasons.
For example:
· Coming back to cycling after time off

· Building up confidence on busy roads
· Sharing experiences of things like cycling at night or what clothes to wear
· Checking bikes together before a ride
Bike Buddies provide crucial support and motivation to help people to participate in inclusive and adapted outdoor cycling. Volunteers support cyclists to achieve their fitness goals and enjoy cycling in our community.
Our Bike Buddies are great ambassadors for cycling, sharing their expertise of local routes and giving others the confidence to get around by bike.
If you feel confident cycling on the road or in a park with someone else, and are wanting to give back to others, this is the role for you.
What would I be doing?
You’ll need to find out what they want to do and where they want to go. Some people want to explore quiet streets locally or plan a longer journey. You may ride to the park or show them local routes – quiet ways, new cycle lanes and off-road paths are popular.
They may want to try out junctions or crossing busy roads – think about how to ride those safely. You may support a person at one of our pre-arranged Parkride cycle meetings and help them to develop the skills and confidence to cycle safely and independently.
What do I need?
This role will require:
· A roadworthy bike and riding equipment.
· Experience of regular cycling
· Some experience of cycle maintenance
· A cycling competence session with parkride staff
· Friendly, calm, and patient

After18 runs a weekly group for asylum seeking and refugee young women (including victims of trafficking) on a Friday evening at our Leicester city-centre hub. We aim to increase confidence and reduce isolation by encouraging young women to participate in a range of creative and wellbeing activities chosen and led by them. We also offer homework support for students taking Health and Social Care at college and access to opportunities to help them progress in this field.
We are looking for a volunteer to support this group and interact with the young people as they participate in the activities they have chosen each week. This could include cooking and baking or arts and crafts activities, as well as trips to venues in and around Leicester. This would be a great opportunity for someone who has previously worked or volunteered with young people and is passionate about supporting their wellbeing.
The volunteer must be available on a Friday evening (5-7pm) in Leicester city centre.
The volunteer may be involved in:
- Supporting the activity lead to set up the materials needed for the session
- Helping to demonstrate how to do the activities and encouraging the young women

PBE’s mission is to end low personal wellbeing in the UK. We do this by helping charities and social enterprises understand their economic and social impact, so they can improve their overall effectiveness. We enable professional economists from the private and public sectors as well as academia to volunteer their skills to tackle some of the most pressing issues in society. We have worked with over 500 charities since our inception in 2009.
Having successfully delivered a major programme of groundbreaking work on the condition of the charity sector in the form of the Law Family Commission on Civil Society at the start of 2023, PBE entered a new phase in its development. Building on its growing research and policy expertise and its strong association with the social sector, the organisation takes a bottom-up and top-down approach to exploring, understanding, and tackling the causes and consequences of low personal wellbeing in the UK that uses the insights and perspectives of charities and community groups as a unique jumping off point. PBE is focused on delivering high quality research that both translates into real policy and practice impacts for people with low wellbeing and supports a more effective social sector to help deliver that change.
About the role
Reporting directly to Pro Bono Economics’ Finance & HR Manager you will be offering much valued support to PBE’s Operations team with the day-to-day finance and operations processes. This is a varied and exciting role requiring a strong finance and office background, excellent organisation skills, a keen eye for detail and a great level of accuracy. It also offers a great opportunity to develop your existing skills and learn new ones in a high impact charity.
Post type: Volunteer - able to commit a minimum of 10hours per week

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Finance
- To support the Finance & HR Manager with the monthly payment run
- Processing purchase invoices on our Xero account
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations.
- Raising sales invoices and dealing with outstanding payments
- To assist with quarterly VAT returns
- To assist the with general finance administration duties and managing the finance inbox
Operations & IT
- To support the Finance & HR Manager with recruitment
- To assist with maintaining office stationery and supplies
- To assist with reporting maintenance and repairs.
- To assist with reporting/logging IT issues with the external IT support team.
- Any other duties as deemed reasonable by the line manager.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a strong finance and office background with a passion for the social sector and able to commit a minimum of 10 hours a week.
Ideal characteristics include:
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- A keen eye for detail and a great level of accuracy
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Experience of using an accounting package preferably Xero
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- The ability to work flexibly as part of a small team.
