Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: The role is based in East Croydon, accessible by Train and Tram Link. Unfortunately this location does not have step free access.
Salary: £40,000 (Full time equivalent)
Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week across three working days, Monday to Friday on a rota between 08:00 - 20:00
About the role
We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who has experience in Complex Mental Health and Substance Misuse to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will use your skills and knowledge to support residents with mental health challenges, complex needs, and will provide specialist occupational therapy as part of their recovery. This is a great opportunity to shape your own role, alongside a team of Positive Engagement Workers, a Dual Diagnosis Worker, and Clinical Psychologist, whilst working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and other external partnerships. You will receive regular supervisions and have time with an external Occupational Therapist.
You will:
- Deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills
- Be proactive with planning and delivering meaningful activities; this includes one to one and group sessions
- Work closely with clinical teams to meet people where they are, assess their situation, and write recommendations and signposting accordingly
- Assess their current situation through holistic assessments and put plans in place for them to overcome their personal barriers, to enable them for independent living and stability
- Provide psychologically informed interventions in a person-centred approach, flexibly to the resident needs
- Complete various assessments from function to task related to help empower enhanced community and personal engagement
- Set SMART goals in a collaborative way with residents, taking into account all information present from various team members and partner agencies.
About you
We’re looking for a passionate, driven and qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC who has experience working with people that have multiple complex needs. You’ll be confident applying theory to the practical working environment. We use a trauma informed, non judgmental approach, so it’s important that you can work well with others, fit into the team, and build trusting relationships. You will be able to apply your knowledge of relevant guidance and protocols to the working environment. You will have a background in a similar role, able to provide specialist support to our residents who struggle with their mental health and substance use.
What we look for:
- Ability to provide specialised occupational therapy assessment and treatment for residents/participants.
- Willingness to work in adherence to Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and Consultation Observation Tool (COT) and other practice guidelines.
- Ability to identify activity needs and wishes through various approaches such as assessments, observations, and discussions then use these to implement plans of action.
- Ability to recognise signs of deteriorating mental health, physical health, or other health implications and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis or other risks.
- Supporting residents/participants with the relevant life skills, knowledge, and resources to support their journey to achieve independence and their desired goals.
- Ability to develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running and development of various projects and group engagement activities.

This role is based at our office in Sheffield, dealing with inbound enquiries and making outbound calls to victims of crime, reviewing and triaging referrals from the police.

Blue Cross Southampton Rehoming Centre has cared for pets and supported the local community since 1988. The site provides care for dogs, cats and kittens, while our dedicated offsite team supports small pets in foster homes and through our home direct scheme.
As Centre Manager, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the Centre – pets, people, facilities, compliance and finances. Working closely with your Assistant Managers, you’ll inspire and empower your team, embed a culture of continuous improvement and ensure the highest welfare standards.
This role is about leading people and leading change. We have a skilled, passionate team with great ideas – we now need someone who can take those forward, make things happen, and bring colleagues with them on the journey. About the Role:

The Role
The service operates in a fast-paced, person-centred environment, where Coordinators identify and respond to the evolving needs of stroke survivors and their carers. This includes delivering structured reviews at six months post-stroke, supporting stroke survivors in their ongoing recovery and helping them achieve their personal goals.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Work as part of a team to plan and deliver engaging peer support and communication groups
- Attend multi-disciplinary meetings with the local stroke therapy team, contributing to joined-up care
- Recruit, train and manage volunteers to enhance service delivery (experience in volunteer management is an advantage)
- Support stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community, offering personalised advice and guidance
- Provide resources for stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of further strokes
- Deliver Stroke Reviews at six months post-stroke
About You
You will have experience in:
- Excellent IT skills and an ability to maintain accurate records
- An affinity with the values of the Stroke Association
- A flexible approach and an ability to effectively manage a caseload
- A proven record of working with a person-centred approach
This role requires extensive travel across the Stockport area to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role

| Overview and key points on the role | This is a management-level role and will involve working lone shifts during evenings and weekends to provide support to Support Line Workers and volunteers during their shifts. Support Line Manager duties will also include line-managing a team of Support Line Workers, the development and delivery of training, supporting the development and implementation of policy and processes. A key element of the role is safeguarding children and adults at risk who may call us. Established in 1997, Jigsaw4u provide a range of services for children, young people, families and vulnerable adults experiencing complex social and emotional difficulties across South West London. Jigsaw4u has experienced considerable growth and development over the past several years. Jigsaw4u’s Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) have recognised the need for dedicated staffing resource to hold the day-to-day responsibility for the service management function as part of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
As a member of our SLT, you will help to deliver and shape and the organisation’s vision and strategy. It will be your responsibility to ensure that Jigsaw4u’s services achieve their goals, meet their strategic objectives and achieve our growth targets while being delivered to Jigsaw4u’s exceptionally high standards.
Under the direction of the CEO, the postholder’s areas of responsibility will be to:
- Line Manage the Service Managers, ensuring that their teams are high performing, reporting and data collection is of a high standard and relationships with funders and other stakeholders are outstanding.
- Ensure that the structure of all Jigsaw4u services are optimised to allow for growth and support staff and volunteers (including trainee counsellors/therapists) to develop key skills.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of best practice within the charitable sector (and other sectors where relevant), to inform and update Jigsaw4u so that we take advantage of the latest approaches to change, innovation and development which can have a positive impact on our beneficiaries lives.
- Work proactively and collaboratively to identify innovation and business improvement within the SLT to define and agree Target Operating Models and oversee implementation and ongoing review. Use insight, evaluation and analysis to continually inform and refine practice.
- Play a full part in the development of the SLT and deputise for the CEO as required. Work closely with the Service Management Team to develop and deliver an outstanding approach to people management, building a learning culture that delivers high quality, extensive support enabling people to achieve their best as a team.
- Represent Jigsaw4u at formal meetings with funders and other stakeholders and through submission of reports and data requests. Establish new, and strengthen existing, external relationships to promote Jigsaw4u’s profile, influence and reputation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, and adherence to relevant professional codes and standards of good practice.
- Support the CEO in funding and tender applications
- Support the CEO and fundraising team in generating income
As a member of the SLT you will be expected, with training and support, to take an active part in supporting the whole organisation. Experience and aptitude to provide calm leadership and a supportive problem-solving approach to practical problems and judgements involving risk is necessary.
