About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic relationship fundraiser to lead a step-change in major donor giving at the Trust. 

This role is for you if you are self-motivated and driven to ensure that targets are hit and projects are delivered to the highest possible standards. 

You will have demonstrable experience of securing and managing 5-figure+ gifts from donors and be a sophisticated communicator with a collaborative approach and the confidence to build relationships with and inspire colleagues, Trustees and donors.

Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust is a local conservation charity working to protect wildlife and help people connect with nature. With a team of volunteers we care for wild places so that nature has a place to thrive. We help people experience the wildlife on their doorsteps and to take steps to protect it.

We are the county’s leading local charity working towards a county rich in wildlife and managing over 3,000 acres of land for wildlife and people across Worcestershire. We work with organisations and landowners to protect and connect wildlife sites across the county.

The organisation is currently supported by around 23,000 members and supporters, which is around one in 25 residents in Worcestershire. To date we have successfully recruited members through our membership recruiters, with others coming direct to us through our website or by visiting us at Lower Smite Farm. We need to continue to grow our membership supporter base and we need someone with the fundraising experience to help lead this growth and introduce innovative suggestions throughout the supporter journey and experience to strengthen recruitment and improve our retention and ultimately increase our income generation.

The role will focus on progressing our work around the supporter journey, ensuring that we reach as many potential supporters as possible and enable them to understand our work and feel motivated to support the organisation. Growing our prospect pool and educating these prospects to inspire them to become long-term supporters of our work is essential to the ongoing success of the organisation.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is seeking a Digital Content Officer to help us share the story of our work, inspire people across the county and drive our mission to “bring nature back to Suffolk”, and vision of a ““A Wilder Suffolk where nature is thriving and abundant because everyone is doing more to help”. This role is central to how we communicate our impact and connect people with wildlife, ensuring that our voice for nature is clear, compelling and far-reaching.

As a Digital Content Officer, you will be part of the Marketing & Communications team, working across departments to gather stories and create engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. You will lead on digital communications, including managing our social media accounts, website, and e-newsletters, and play a key role in delivering inspiring campaigns that encourage more people to take action for wildlife and support the charity.

Your work will include planning, creating and publishing content such as videos, images, graphics and written stories that showcase the Trust’s impact and celebrate Suffolk’s wildlife and landscapes. By amplifying these stories, you will help raise awareness, build engagement and attract new members and supporters.

The role also involves co-ordinating local and national awareness campaigns, ensuring that Suffolk Wildlife Trust continues to be recognised as a trusted voice for nature. You will work closely with colleagues across our conservation and reserves, advocacy and engagement teams, to ensure that our communications reflect the breadth of our work and are aligned with our strategic goals.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who is creative, highly organised and passionate about nature. It offers the opportunity to use your storytelling and digital skills to make a tangible difference for wildlife and people of Suffolk. This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week -  Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm based at our main office Brooke House in Ashbocking. We operate flexible homeworking arrangements where colleagues spend more time working together than homeworking. The starting salary will be between £26,000.00 and £28,000.00 per annum, depending on skills, knowledge and experience.

As a member of our Riverwoods Blueprint Project team, you will.... 

- Lead on the ongoing development, maintenance, and promotion of the engaging and innovative Riverwoods Digital Centre of Excellence, built using ArcGIS Hub Premium. 

- Work collaboratively to develop and expand on digital tools and resources for woodland practitioners and planners including opportunity mapping and project cost calculation tools. 

- Support project partners and other practitioners to implement the Riverwoods Measuring and Monitoring Framework and support its ongoing development. 

- Provide guidance, data analysis, maps and web maps to the Riverwoods team. 

The candidate will ideally have...: 

- Demonstrated experience using ArcGIS – ArcPro and ArcGIS Online (AGOL) and relevant apps such as ArcGIS Hub, Survey 123, Field Maps, StoryMaps, Dashboards and Experience Builder 

- Experience of training and supporting people from varied technical and non-technical backgrounds with a range of GIS/IT knowledge

Putting in place learning initiatives and interventions to enable The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts (RSWT) to constantly evolve and develop as an organisation, and ensuring the diverse needs of our people are met is a key part of this role, so everyone can develop to be at their best. 

Being part of our People and Culture Team and working with the wider Wildlife Trust People Team you will deliver our strategic objectives and feed into our overall organisational learning needs.

We are looking for an organised and resourceful individual who has proven experience of working in learning and organisational development, who would manage the function and enjoy launching our competency framework and embedding our new learning management system at RSWT and across the federation. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be confidence in communicating to diverse audiences. 

Hybrid Working 

Your normal place of work would be your home address and our office premises at The Kiln, Mather Road, Newark, Nottinghamshire NG24 1WT. The Kiln is open Tuesday – Thursday and should you be within easy commutable distance we would expect you to attend the office on a weekly basis. Should you be located further a field then we would ask you to attend at least once per month for team meetings. You will also be required to attend other locations across the UK with notice provided.
