Salary £39,298 per annum
Hours: 35 hours (5 days) Monday – Friday inclusive.

Rights of Women is a long established and well-respected national women's charity providing free legal advice to women to help them navigate their way through the legal system and inform them of their rights. Addressing violence against women and girls is a major part of ensuring that women can achieve equality in society. We also work to influence law and policy and provide training to professionals who work with women.
The Role
We are looking for a qualified woman[2] solicitor or barrister or CILEX member with experience of employment harassment and discrimination law to deliver our vital legal services for women as part of our employment law team.
The Legal Officer (Employment Law) is responsible for delivery of Rights of Women’s core services including providing legal advice on our ‘Sexual Harassment at Work’ telephone advice line, delivering training and writing publications. They also contribute to Rights of Women’s policy and influencing work, specifically related to our 'Sexual Harassment at Work’ advice line and employment law and the management of the legal volunteers to the advice line.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a refuge worker within a refuge service, supporting women and their children fleeing domestic abuse. Your responsibilities will include supporting and advocating for women and children, taking part in the on-call rota, managing day to day running of the refuge; health & safety, safeguarding, supporting the service and deputy manager.

Providing practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles. This will include conducting key work sessions on a regular basis and keeping casework records up to date.

Welcoming new residents, explaining and arranging for them to sign occupancy agreements, ensuring that they are aware of their options for moving on to more permanent accommodation and to develop a proactive move on strategy for individual residents.

Establishing the risks to, and the needs of survivors of, domestic violence and their children through assessing their practical and emotional support needs throughout their stay at the refuge.

Developing individual support and risk management plans which address the risk of harm to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse and their children, and to ensure that such plans are in place for each resident.

Ensuring that any issues in relation to safeguarding children or vulnerable adults are brought to the immediate attention of the service manager, or if unavailable another manager.

Working in partnership with other agencies and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met.

The Survivors Trust mission:
The Survivors Trust (TST) is the UK’s largest national membership organisation for specialist voluntary sector rape and sexual abuse support services. We have over 120 Member Agencies based across the UK and Ireland. We campaign to raise awareness of sexual violence and to improve the support available for its survivors.

Job description
Main responsibilities will be in the following areas:
- Ensuring effective communication across the TST team, with our members and with external agencies

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights and feminist organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. About the role
We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Financial Controller is to lead on all financial systems set up and upgrades.

Smart Works is a dynamic, high profile and fast-growing UK charity that dresses and coaches unemployed women for success at their job interview. We empower each woman by giving her the clothes and the confidence she needs to succeed. After visiting Smart Works, 63% of clients secure a job within a month, gaining financial independence and transforming their lives.
The Smart Works service is currently delivered in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Newcastle, Reading and Leeds, with new centres in Bristol and Liverpool due to open in 2025. The majority are also from minoritised communities and face intersectional barriers to employment: 32% are lone parents, 16% consider themselves to have a disability and 52 % are from an ethnic minority.
In April 2022, Smart Works launched a new Three-Year Plan that will see the charity double the number of women helped annually from 5,000 to 10,000 women a year. At the end of year 2, Smart Works is on track to deliver the Plan, having delivered a 42% year-on-year uplift in engagement with our core Interview Dressing & Preparation service and with new centres opened in Croydon and Glasgow.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a thoughtful and dedicated leader to oversee the delivery of the Smart Works service across the UK, ensuring that the charity remains on track to achieve our current growth ambitions, and to also play a key role in leading delivery of the service as we move into our next strategic plan.
The Head of Programmes will drive innovation, build impactful partnerships with referral organisations and enable excellent decision making across all centres. The Head of Programmes will be the guardian of the Smart Works service as the charity grows, ensuring decision-making across the charity is always client-centric and every client has the best possible chance of job success.
The Head of Programmes will oversee the opening of new Smart Works centres. Project managing the opening of new centres will require exceptional people management and an ability to balance important small details, with an awareness of the bigger picture and wider strategy.
The Head of Programmes will also be responsible for leading org-wide projects focused on quality, that will allow Smart Works to ensure our offer continues to improve, so that more of our clients can move into employment.
This is an important leadership role within the charity, with the Head of Programmes regularly sharing insights and ideas with senior decision makers. They will provide valuable insight into the Smart Works service and trends within the wider employability support landscape.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be based at one of our London centres, and will travel to other Smart Works centres across the UK when needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director of Programmes & Operations, the successful candidate will lead on a range of activities, including:
- Ensure a high quality, consistent service is delivered across the UK (both in-person and virtually).
- Drive innovation and support pilot projects that will enable the charity to evolve, improve and help more unemployed women secure work.
- Identify opportunities for digitisation of the service, to streamline our processes and allow us to grow our impact.

About this key role

The Role
Scottish Women’s Aid has an exciting opportunity to join the Training team, covering maternity for the Learning and Development Coordinator post. The role holder will be responsible for leading on the coordination and delivery of a programme of learning, development and good practice events for Scottish Women’s Aid’s 33 member organisations who deliver frontline services to women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. Working closely with the Member Services team and the Training team, they will identify key learning and development needs of the network, commission, develop and deliver training and ensure the member learning and development programme is fit for purpose through regular monitoring and evaluation. The role reports directly to the National Training Manager.
Background
Scottish Women’s Aid is the lead organisation in Scotland working to end domestic abuse. We are both a children’s rights and a women’s rights organisation.
- We directly campaign to institutions and leaders for policies and laws that address the drivers of women’s inequality and improve responses to domestic abuse. This work makes women and children safer and helps them disentangle themselves from their abusers.
- We provide training to public and private bodies from the police and judiciary to child welfare systems, to effectively respond to survivors.
- We raise the profile of domestic abuse nationally and internationally so that domestic abuse is treated like the critical threat to human rights that it is.
- We host Scotland’s 24-Hour Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline to ensure help is always available while actively supporting a network of 33 specialist local Women’s Aid services that directly support and provide refuge to women and children of Scotland affected by domestic abuse
- We are the umbrella organisation for 33 autonomous Women’s Aid groups delivering direct services to women, children and young people across Scotland, providing guidance, support and training to our members
What you’ll do
Working collaboratively with the Training, Member Services, Policy and other teams within SWA, you will coordinate and deliver a learning and development programme for our members, including an online programme of events and tailored, bespoke learning for individual member organisations as needed. You will develop and deliver training and, where appropriate external expertise is required, identify and commission external and associate trainers as part of the learning and development programme. You will undertake continuous monitoring and evaluation of the member learning and development programme to ensure it is meeting members’ needs, of high quality and making an impact.
What We Need
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience in a similar role co-ordinating projects, training and events and developing and facilitating training
- Awareness and understanding of the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and the impact on women, children and young people
- Knowledge of the issues, policies and legislation within Scotland affecting women, children and young people who experience domestic abuse
- Knowledge of models of evaluation and quality assurance of training and trainers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you’ll be skilled at interpreting and presenting complex issues so they can be easily understood by different audiences and have the ability to engage confidently with and influence a wide range of people at national and local level

We are seeking a Sex Worker Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (SWISVA) to provide appropriate emotional and practical 1-to-1 support to people involved in sex work, who often experience stigma and face barriers to accessing services. Working within a specialist sexual violence approach, you will be enabling people to access support and navigate services, including those directly related to sexual violence. You will support them to navigate criminal justice processes if they wish to do so. You will be working in partnership with other agencies and making appropriate referrals for people to access other services to support their wider needs. You will play a key role in advocating for improved responses to sexual violence, including pathways through the criminal justice processes.
The post is part of a unique partnership between National Ugly Mugs, Basis Yorkshire and POW (Nottingham) to ensure more specialist support for sex workers who have experienced sexual violence, to develop good practice guidelines, develop and share learning, and to influence change in provisions for sex workers. Each organisation will be employing a SWISVA; the program will be led by a Program Coordinator who will be based with Basis Yorkshire, and who will lead on influencing of policy and sharing of learning to improve outcomes for sex workers who have experienced sexual violence

About the Panel
No child should ever suffer harm, abuse or neglect, and reducing this is the primary focus of the independent Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel.
Set up by the UK Government in 2018, the Panel reviews all cases when children die or are seriously harmed, and abuse or neglect is known or suspected. The aim is to see what lessons can be drawn from these tragic incidents to prevent them from happening again elsewhere.
About the role
The independent Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel is looking for a part-time chair.
The Chair is responsible for leading and managing the Panel. They must set the strategic vision for the Panel and ensure the Panel’s work is effective in improving the safeguarding of children. It is also vital they influence policy and practice change effectively to maximise the Panel’s impact on child safeguarding.
It is a varied role, which includes working with Ministers and senior government officials, supervising fieldwork, undertaking analysis and disseminating learning to those working in child safeguarding.
We are looking for individuals with experience working strategically at a senior level and operationally in child protection. However, the successful candidate will be appointed to fill this role as an individual acting in the public interest and not as a representative of their particular profession, employer or interest group.
The Chair will be required to attend fortnightly Panel meetings, either virtually or in-person in London. They must also be available to attend ad hoc meetings with key stakeholders, as well as working with a Secretariat.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide strategic leadership for the Panel, leading the development and implementation of a strategic vision for the Panel, ensuring a focus on Panel’s impact.
- To be ultimately responsible and accountable for the Panel’s work and conduct of its functions. This includes taking urgent decisions on behalf of the whole Panel when required.
- To lead continuous improvement reviews of Panel work and membership to ensure its ongoing effectiveness. This includes leading long-term planning for Panel membership.
- To ensure the Panel demonstrates the highest standards of integrity at all times, including ensuring the identification and management of any conflicts of interest which might arise.
- Chairing Panel meetings effectively so that objectives are met, ensuring that all members views are taken into account. This includes creating a culture of openness, debate and collaboration that maximises use of all members skills and experience.
