Birmingham and Solihull Women’s aid have for over 45 years supported women and children with services around domestic violence and abuse. Could you be a part of our team as we continue our mission to end domestic violence and abuse? 

The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.  

Projects supports women in the criminal justice system, in healthcare settings, and throughout the community, offering support to women and children experiencing domestic violence. Alongside this, we also have staff offering training and consultancy to businesses and health and social care professionals alike, raising awareness on gender based violence issues.  

We seek like-minded women to join our enthusiastic team of workers, all of us passionate about the vital and valuable work we do to support women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, and tackling the wider issues of violence against women and girls. 

Key Responsibilities
To assist the refuge manager in the day-to-day running of the refuge, developing and delivering a front line service offering support, advice and guidance to women and their children living in the refuge.

*BSWA provides safe secure accommodation to some of the most vulnerable women and children therefore in order to ensure we provide maximum support and safety it is essential that our service is available to them 24/7. We do this through operating an on-site rota that covers weekends, evenings and bank holidays as well as a 24 hour call out system

 

EXPERIENCE:

Experience of providing practical and emotional support to women and children affected by domestic violence

Experience of offering advice and information and advocating for service users on a range of issues including homelessness, benefits, legal, social welfare issues etc.

Experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with external agencies

Experience of working within safeguarding guidelines to protect and promote the well-being of children and vulnerable adults

Pause works to improve the lives of women who have had – or are at risk of having – more than one child removed from their care, and the services and systems that affect them. We’re looking for an experienced practitioner who will work directly with women across South Gloucestershire, as part of the North Somerset/South Gloucestershire Pause team. To succeed in this role, you will bring passion, resilience, and professional insight to support women working with Pause to make the changes that they choose that make a difference in their lives.

As a Pause Practitioner, you will be responsible for implementing a range of interventions and support measures as part of an integrated package of health, therapeutic and social support. Pause is specifically designed to address the complex needs of women, through intensive support, to enable change in their lives, and ultimately reduce the numbers of children being removed into care. You will work systemically in delivering a relationship-based programme where frequency, tenacity and creativity are central.

About Woman's Trust

Woman’s Trust was established almost thirty years ago and is the leading specialist in mental health services for women. Led by and for women, it aims to ensure that women affected by domestic abuse can live a safe and healthy life, free from further harm. Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, empowering survivors on their journey to recover from the trauma. We support 900 women and children annually, with an income of £1.3m and 40 staff. About the role

As a Counselling Project Administrator, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient project administration of Woman’s Trust Counselling services.

This role is part-time, working 28 hours per week to cover a period of maternity leave with a start date of December 2025.

The Bexley SASS team provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living in Bexley. An exciting opportunity has arisen in this busy team for a Family IDVA. This includes a package of support covering crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. A key aspect of the role will be to advocate on behalf of service users pursuing remedies through the criminal and civil justice systems.

About the Role

Independent Domestic Abuse Advocates provide a proactive service to survivors of domestic abuse identified as being at high risk of imminent harm.

As a Family IDVA your focus will be supporting survivors with two or more children. You will carry out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and support planning with survivors and advocate on their behalf with external agencies. You look at the children’s needs and signpost them to appropriate services. 

You will support the family (where safe) to remain in their own home with the support of Solace’s Sanctuary Scheme to ensure the risk is reduced and/or negated or you will advocate on their behalf for appropriate safe accommodation.

You will hold a caseload for up to three months and will provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning; engaging them in other services for additional support.

About You

You will need a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support and strong casework management skills.

You will have the skills to provide effective crisis intervention, carry out risk assessments, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. You should have demonstrable experience of working in an IDVA or similar position with this or a similar client group.

About the Service

North London Rape Crisis offers range of services to women, trans women, and non-binary people age 13 + who are experiencing or have experienced any form of sexual violence in their lives. We offer a safe and non-judgmental space to women living, working, or studying across London boroughs of Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.

Our expert team provides helpline support, advocacy (ISVA) support including specialised ISVAS for women with multiple disadvantages and young women. We also provide one to one and group counselling to survivors as well as short term one to one counselling support to survivor’s family and friends. It is an inclusive service and support all ages, disabilities, sexualities, gender identities including non-binary, ethnicities, and religions.

The service will be open 9.00am to 5.00 pm however, appointments can be arranged outside of these if required.

About the Role

The role of Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) is with the Rape Crisis service in North London. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide a pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system.

About You

The ideal candidate will have completed ISVA training, or have a willingness to undertake ISVA training, and have experience of supporting women affected by sexual violence. You will have a clear understanding of the effects of and issues facing women who have experienced sexual violence, as well as understanding of the Criminal Justice System. You will be able to communicate with people from a range of backgrounds and create good working relationship with service users as well as partner agencies.

Are you a proactive person looking for a schedule that offers unique flexibility in Bristol?

We are looking for people to join our Bristol Women’s Pathway in the role of Night Concierge (*women only).

Managed in partnership by St Mungo’s and Next Link, Respite Rooms is a 12-month pilot offering short-stay, trauma-informed accommodation for women with complex needs fleeing or at risk of domestic and gender-based violence.

You will be joining a busy service working as a Night Concierge, you will:

• Provide a first point of contact and safeguarding to clients at night.
• Be responsible for dealing with emergencies, undertaking regular health and safety checks on patrols and through monitoring the CCTV system.
• Report incidents or maintenance issues and communicate any concerns or events to the rest of the team.
• This is a lone-working night role, with support available through an on-call system to ensure guidance and assistance is always accessible when needed.

Typical schedule: A rolling night shift rota, including weekends and bank holidays, usually around 9pm-7.30am with 3-4 days off.

About you

This is a great role to learn about working in the charity sector, many of our specialist workers and managers developed a career after starting in Night Concierge roles.

• You don’t need loads of experience; but some time working or volunteering in a similar environment and an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable women who may have complex needs will be beneficial. 
• You should have good communication and basic IT skills with the ability to keep records and follow procedures.
• The ability to stay alert and awake during your shift, and work independently.
• Using your initiative to remain calm to identify the appropriate action to take in various situations.

About the Service

Our 24 hour specialist supported accommodation service provides support for women affected by any form of violence, including domestic abuse and/or sexual violence who are experiencing poor mental health and/or problematic use of substances, to build towards an independent future. This service is a high needs service.

The team delivers one to one support in the form of weekly keywork sessions working within a psychologically informed framework to create support plans with residents and build on skills and competencies. We use a strengths-based approach in the hope that service users can move on into the community or a lower needs service to live a better quality of life whatever that may look like for the individual.

In addition, the team is responsible for the building management including Health and Safety, void turn over, financial management, the repairs and living environment.

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse.

Job Purpose 

As our new Services and Development Lead, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of Beyond the Streets. You’ll provide both strategic and operational leadership for our direct services, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality, compassionate support to the women accessing our services. You’ll champion lived experience leadership, helping embed it at the heart of our organisation and across our wider network. With a focus on learning and impact, you’ll strengthen how we use data and evidence to inform practice, fundraising, and policy influence. You’ll also nurture and be part of a team that support our affiliate network- helping smaller projects grow, connect, and thrive. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll contribute to our vision, ethos, and long-term strategy, ensuring Beyond the Streets continues to create real change for women involved in the sex industry.

• You have experience leading services or programmes, with a strong grasp of how to balance strategic vision and operational delivery.
• You’re confident using data, evidence and research to inform decisions, communicate impact and influence funders or policy. 
• You have a solid understanding of the Violence Against Women and Girls sector and the systems affecting women facing sexual exploitation. 
• You’re skilled at building partnerships, supporting smaller organisations, and aligning insights and practice with wider organisational goals.

Location: Enfield (Hybrid) (Once Police vetting is cleared, co-located at Police stations minimum 1 day per week – locations across North London)

About the Service

As part of an innovative pilot project, funded by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, Solace will be providing two specialist workers to support victim/survivors engaged in the perpetrator behaviour change programme as part of a conditional caution. The programme aims to address perpetrators behaviour and increase safety for victim/survivors. In doing so, it is essential that the V/S has holistic support to ensure any risks are identified and managed.

This is a pilot project and it is expected that there will be a considerable amount of testing and learning, trailing new ways of working to meet intended outcomes.

About the Role

You will be working closely in partnership with Police forces in North London, as well as the Hampton Trust, to provide support for victim/survivors engaged in the CARA programme. You will also be supporting Police Officers to discuss eligibility for the programme and conditional cautions. You will be developing and delivering a series of training and learning sessions for the Police. As a new project, you will be developing key partnership relations, to strengthen collaborative working between the Police and Solace. You will provide light touch support to survivors whose partners are engaged with the CARA program, assess risk and share key updates with Hampton Trust and the Police to ensure safety.

About You

We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending VAWG. You will have a “can-do‟ approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. You will receive training and support for this role as necessary.

Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children, experience of dynamic risk assessment and providing emotional and practical support to victims of VAWG.  As this is a pilot programme where the delivery model may change, a flexible and adaptive approach to your work is important as well as willingness to contribute to programme evaluation. Part of your time will be spent ensuring that Police colleagues have the information they need to effectively administer conditional cautions so you will work closely with Police, Hampton Trust to develop different training elements, a willingness to develop and deliver this material is essential.

A relevant qualification in VAWG is essential, as well as willingness to undergo Police vetting.
