As our Individual Giving Officer, you'll be at the heart of raising unrestricted funds that directly support our work with Big Issue vendors and our broader poverty-fighting initiatives. Your day-to-day will involve developing and running campaigns that recruit new supporters and keep our existing donors engaged across multiple channels. You'll get to work closely with our vendors and support teams to uncover the powerful stories that show the real impact of people's contributions – then craft these into compelling content that inspires others to get involved.

We're looking for someone who can think creatively about income generation, manage the production of supporter materials, and dive into the data to see what's working. You'll be collaborating with colleagues across the organization and working with various stakeholders to make sure our message resonates with supporters.

Your New Role

As Head of Finance (12-month contract), you’ll take on a varied and pivotal role within the organisation. You’ll lead a dedicated finance team, helping to deliver outstanding services to residents, their families, staff, and governors. We have a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for a Finance professional to support our property team for the next 18 months as they focus on delivering transformation in their processes. This role is a 30 hours fixed-term contract for 18 months, on a 4 day a week basis.

We have large offices in London, and Peterborough and smaller offices located throughout the UK. If there is no office available within a reasonable distance, the role may be offered as home-based with some travel for team meetings. 

We are looking for someone who is a confident communicator with both finance colleagues and operational staff, adapting their style to their audience. Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with directorate teams to create robust budgets and forecasts, offering support and advice for realistic financial planning.

• Supporting complex income forecasting (e.g. legacies), using scenario analysis to guide planning and assess risk.
• Delivering financial analysis and modelling to support investment decisions.

• Improving finance processes and reporting, including with our new Salesforce fundraising CRM system.
• Acting as key contact for external auditors and funders regarding fundraising financials.
