About the role
We’re looking for a warm, proactive organiser to help more women seeking sanctuary access our Touching Safe Ground programme — weekly trauma-informed yoga and English for wellbeing sessions in East London. You’ll reach out to asylum hostels, GP surgeries and community and legal services to connect with women who may benefit. You’ll support them in attending, help sessions run smoothly, and manage practicalities like childcare, refreshments and expenses. A key part of the role is also building a brilliant volunteer team — recruiting, supporting and coordinating volunteers who make our sessions possible. You’ll also work closely with the Project Lead and colleagues on outreach, monitoring and partnership-building. This hands-on, local role is perfect if you’re organised, people-focused, and committed to empowering women who have faced hardship or trauma. It’s also a great opportunity to build skills in partnership working, trauma-informed community outreach, and volunteer leadership

Key details

• Contract: 1-year fixed-term (with potential to extend up to 4 years) 3-month probationary period. Post funded by National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund

What you’ll do

• Reach and engage asylum-seeking, refugee and migrant women across Tower Hamlets
• Build partnerships with GP surgeries, community and legal services, universities and local networks, to create referral pathways

Project name: Strengthening Civil Society Representation of Women with Disabilities in Ghana 

Location: Ghana/Remote Global (at least 1-2 team members must be based in Ghana for data collection purposes) 

Length of consultancy: 8-9 months 

About the project 

The Strengthening Civil Society Representation of Women with Disabilities in Ghana project is a two-year project funded by the European Commission. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of two co-applicants (Women with Disability Development and Advocacy Organisation (WODAO) and the Alliance for Better Advocacy and Knowledge (ABAK) Foundation) in the areas of management, communication, fundraising, coordination, advocacy, gender, climate change, networking, and financial accountability.

The overall objective of the project is to strengthen both co-applicant organisations, their partners and their members to effectively participate in development and decision-making processes. 

About the consultancy 

The purpose of this end of term evaluation (ETE) is to assess performance of the project and to understand what specific learnings can be taken forward in future project design and implementation. It is also intended that the evaluation will contribute evidence and/or insight towards some of Sightsavers’ thematic learning questions. An external ETE, to be conducted by the end of the project, is also a requirement by the donor.  

The evaluation will also be designed to collect endline data for three project indicators, as specified in the project MEL plan. It is intended that the findings, learnings and recommendations from the evaluation will be used to inform the design and delivery of similar projects and programmes. 

The evaluation will employ a collaborative and participatory approach to ensure that the evaluation takes into account the complex nature of how capacity is strengthened. It will use a mixed methods approach, triangulating secondary project documentation and data with some qualitative primary data collection. This is likely to include key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) with various project stakeholders. The appointed consultant will further define the methods and tools and may wish to consider elements of outcome harvesting if deemed appropriate.

Skills and Experience 

The evaluation will be contracted to an external independent consultant or consultancy company. It would be beneficial if the consultant or team is at least partly located in Ghana. The evaluation team members should have the following core competencies and experience: 

• Extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation for international development project/programmes, with strong skills in both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

• Thematic expertise in disability inclusion, Climate Action, advocacy, and/or capacity development of women’s organisations is essential. Comprehensive understanding of preferred practices/policy issues at global and national level is desirable. 

• Prior experience working in Ghana is essential, including data collection experience. A consultant or team with members located in Ghana is preferred. 

• Must have experience of carrying out evaluations of an appropriate scope and scale. 

• Ability to travel within Ghana is required. 

• Proven ability to produce concise, readable and analytical reports. 

• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English. Fluency in other relevant local languages is highly desirable. 

• Proven ability to work independently, manage resources, and deliver work within agreed timeframes. 

In particular, the Team Leader (to be identified in the offer) is expected to possess a demonstrable senior evaluation expertise coherent with the requirements of this assignment and not provide less than 20 working days.

WOMEN’S HOMELESS SHELTER WORKER (EVENINGS) 

Team: Night Shelters 

Location: On-site at Glass Door women’s night shelter in West London 

Duration: 1 November 2025 to April 2026

Reporting to: Service Manager – Night Shelters 

Shifts available:  

• 7:00pm to 10:00pm, shifts are available 7 days a week 

Pay: £14.50 per hour 

Job Purpose

As an Evening Women’s Shelter Worker, you’ll be part of the team running Glass Door’s women’s night shelter. Working alongside other staff and volunteers, you’ll engaged with guests throughout the evening, helping to create a safe, calm, and welcoming space where women experiencing homelessness can rest and be treated with dignity. 

You’ll greet guests, support the evening set-up, carry out regular checks around the venue, and offer kind, practical help. When issues arise, you’ll respond calmly — whether that’s offering reassurance, guiding someone through a difficult moment, or addressing challenging behaviour. You’ll record key information so the overnight team and caseworkers can follow up. 

Most evenings are steady and focused on guest support, but there can be moments of pressure. Training is provided so you feel confident and prepared. You’ll finish with a clear handover with the overnight team so the shelter runs smoothly through the night.

What You’ll Do 

You’ll help make sure the women’s night shelter is safe, supportive, and welcoming for everyone staying with us. This is an on-site, evening role. Your main responsibilities will include: 

• Welcoming and supporting guests – Create a friendly, respectful atmosphere and build positive relationships with guests, volunteers, and colleagues. 

• Welcoming and engaging with guests – Take a proactive approach to being present and approachable throughout the evening, starting conversations, offering support, and helping create a safe and respectful atmosphere. 

• Responding to situations – Manage issues as they arise, such as someone feeling unwell, experiencing emotional distress, or challenging behaviour. This may sometimes mean seeking guidance from the Night Shelter Manager or calling emergency services. Training will be provided. 

• Keep the shelter safe and secure – Follow all safety, security, and health & safety procedures and make sure the space stays tidy and free from hazards. 

• Recording important information – Write clear, accurate shift notes and incident reports (if needed) in our In-Form system so colleagues have up-to-date information. 

• Working as a team – Maintain good communication with the Night Shelter Manager volunteers and other colleagues during your shift. 

• Handover to the overnight team – Participate in a brief, handover meeting at the end of your shift so key information is shared. 

• Training and meetings – Attend occasional in-person training sessions, team meetings, or other activities. You may be assigned brief online training to complete on shift from time to time. 

• Work to a rota – Shifts will include evenings at weekends and on public holidays, so flexibility is important. 

• Help with other tasks as needed – From time to time, you may be asked to help with other reasonable tasks that keep the shelter running smoothly. 

Person Specification

Essential: 

• A genuine commitment to providing a high standard of service and treating everyone with respect, kindness, and dignity. 

• Confidence in handling challenging behaviour calmly and respectfully. 

• Good communication skills, both spoken and written. 

• The ability to carry out manual handling tasks such as moving supplies and equipment. 

• Ability to work well as part of a team and support colleagues. 

Desirable: 

• Experience working with people experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable groups. 

• The ability to speak another language, for example Arabic, Tigrinya, Amharic, Polish, Spanish, French, or Russian.

Church walk is part of Hackney Pathway providing 24 hour supported accommodation to 31 single homeless women aged 22 – 65yrs with High support and trauma.

In this role you will:

Have the opportunity to work alongside our Domestic Abuse Navigator, Complex Needs Team and local specialist services including Pause and Open Doors. This role will particularly suit candidates with experience of or an interest in creative, trauma-informed work with women experiencing multiple disadvantage. The staffing structure comprises a Senior Project Worker in addition to a Manager and Deputy, providing future progression opportunities for the right candidate. 

Support our clients on their road to recovery in a psychologically informed environment; aiding clients to gain necessary skills to move on from our services and into suitable accommodation. You will work with a caseload of clients, aiding them to gain necessary skills to maintain independence in the community. The role is focused on supporting residents around their strengths and aspirations for the future.

About the role

The Specialist Women & Girls Case Worker role will undertake 1-2-1 work with young people under 25yrs old supported by Catch22’s County Lines Support and Rescue Service funded by the Home Office in one of the 5 delivery areas. This role focuses on supporting young women and girls exploited by county line activity.

County Lines Support Service: A specialist support service for under 25’s, and their families, who are criminally exploited through county lines in West Yorkshire, London, West Midlands, Merseyside, and Greater Manchester.

Qualifications

Experience of working with children, young people (18-25) and their families, identified as vulnerable or having complex needs, preferably in a community setting.
Experience of delivering impactful one to one interventions 
Experience of inter-agency working, preferably with Children's and Family Services/Youth Justice Services/Youth Services.
Knowledge of issues around risk and vulnerability amongst young people.
Good ICT skills, with experience of using data recording and data collation systems.

We are looking for an Immigration Advisor who will be responsible for the delivery of immigration advice and casework to service users in a wide range of circumstances, although most will be rough sleepers. Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service (Rising Sun) is an independent charity in Kent working to prevent domestic abuse and improve the lives of survivors and their children suffering from its effects. We have an ambitious vision for a world in which women and children live free from actual or threatened domestic abuse and all forms of violence.

Our team provide a range of services to adults and children who’ve experienced domestic abuse. We understand the impact of domestic abuse on survivors, so we listen to individual needs and respond in a trauma informed way. We provide one-to-one support and also deliver therapeutically informed group programmes to help survivors to recognise healthy/unhealthy behaviours in relationships and to understand the impact of domestic abuse. Bringing survivors together validates experiences and enables them to draw strength from one another.

JOB PURPOSE

As one of our High Support Needs IDVAs you will be part of our experienced and dedicated adult team reporting to the HSN IDVA Manager covering the Ashford District area, and your role will include a mixture of remote and office working. You’ll be providing a high-quality, frontline service to survivors of domestic abuse and play a crucial role in advocacy, risk assessment, safety planning and empowerment for our clients with more complex needs. You will assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse which are impacting their situation, and help them to regain control of their lives. You will support them to make informed and safe choices and to move forward.

Alongside working with survivors, you will develop and maintain productive relationships with partner organisations to strengthen multi-agency working and improve service outcomes for survivors.

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for supporting people who is confident, resilient and has the ability to build strong relationships.

You will have experience of delivering domestic abuse interventions with survivors, including some whose individual circumstances are more complex. This might include clients with issues such as homelessness, poor mental health or drugs and alcohol use.

The nature of this work and being exposed to survivors’ trauma and challenges can have a negative impact on our own wellbeing as support workers, and therefore good self-awareness and the ability to recognise our own needs and put in place appropriate boundaries is essential. All team members are expected to exercise self-care and attend regular clinical supervision to mitigate the potential impact of vicarious trauma.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide high quality case work support and information to victims/survivors who have experienced domestic and/ or sexual violence and have high support needs.
• Support those who are experiencing domestic and sexual abuse to access services to keep themselves (and their children) safe and address their needs
• Identify and assess the needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist while taking a trauma informed approach
• Provide 1:1 support to survivors in the Ashford, Canterbury and Folkestone and Hythe districts, either over the phone, in community venues or at Rising Sun offices
• Manage a caseload in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and adhere to confidentiality
• Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and building positive working-relationships with team members
• Attend regular clinical supervision and case review meetings
• Hold weekly information and advice drop in sessions and facilitate relevant programmes when required i.e. Freedom Programme
• Participate in street walks to meet and build relationships and trust with street homeless
• Advocate for high risk victims with agencies who can help to address the domestic abuse by:
  • Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to domestic abuse victims and how your role fits into them.
  • Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to survivors including in relation to legal options, housing, health and finance. 
  • Effective partnership working with all key agency partners (including housing and other specialist services, such as drug and alcohol support) to address the safety of high risk victims and ensuring that their safety plans are coordinated particularly through the MARAC (multi-agency risk assessment conference).
• Identify training opportunities and provide training and support for housing staff and other relevant agencies as appropriate
• Work with volunteers (where appropriate) to enhance the capacity of the service
• Be responsible for personal well-being and exercise appropriate self-care
• Attend wider team meetings to share learning and feed into organisational developments
• Ensure that the service user is at the heart of all service delivery by encouraging participation in service development and reporting on their recommendations and complaints
• Be willing and available to work occasional evenings and weekends to support wider team activities such as representing Rising Sun at events (time off in lieu can be taken)
• Ensure publicity materials are effectively distributed as well as contributing to the development of literature
